How will Creative structure the shows without an authority figure?

It would be awesome if every show closed with the announcers running down the matches for the following week as a callback to how it used to be. That way, matches aren't being made on the fly as the show goes along. Some mysterious figure is the one making all the matches and that's all there is to it.

I hope that they can get Bryan somehow involved in the authority goodbye since this all started as his angle. It would be a fitting end and they could even say how he wanted to update his fans on his progress ala Reigns, but the authority wouldn't give him the tv time.

Nice call!

Larry the Cable Guy in a Rey Mysterio mask? It's like they're going out of their way to provoke this board.

Or more accurately, some of the Rey fans that happen to post here. :)

The long-awaited return of Jack Tunney is in the offing.

In all seriousness, Tunney / NWA President or Board of Directors / WCW Commissioner was absolutely fine. Them not being there all that often served to increase the sense of their importance and authority.

They didn't make matches, they made rulings in times of controversy.

Maybe for the modern product, WWE should aim towards a wrestling equivalent of Roger Goodell or someone like that.

Tunney actually kept a very high profile compared to his predecessors Willie Gilzenberg and Hisashi Shinma.

Maybe it's really the return to the days of Gilzenberg that we want. I wonder how many times he actually appeared and spoke on TV in the 15 years he was WWWF President.

You know what they really should have done? Instead of getting rid of the "F" they should have brought back the extra "W".

Yeah, bring back the WWWF. Re-hire Gary Michael Cappetta, start filming Raw in Allentown, dim the house lights at MSG and bring back its noisy ass ring...that's what we need :)

I've been scouring the internet to try to find a pic of Willie Gilzenberg, these are the only three I could find:

Apparently, here he is co-operating with an investigation into boxing.

There he is clearly as an older man, with Andre.

All the RAW GMs in history can't stack up to the true gravitas of the WWWF's first President.

I have to admit I lol'd when they pointed out he looked like Vader.

No they were actually being cute with that deal because Monday is known as Cyber Monday for all the online deals after Black Friday so bringing back the computer GM for that night is clever.

I hope so. If we're going back to heel Cole and the laptop on a recurring basis I don't know what I would do. That shit was unbearable.

Awful comedy. Rusev's balls being cut out. Really, he couldn't beat the shit out of Sarge (who came off like a total bully BTW, but he's a patriot so I guess it's ok) ? The only good thing about this segment was Lana's facials, which were pretty funny. The anonymous GM. What a horrible show following the "hot" Sting debut the previous night.
