iamthedoctor
Wrestlemania 5 for me. It might have been my first VHS and I watched the thing over and over. Run DMC, Piper and Morton Downey, Martel's heel turn, the Garvin stomp on Frenchy Martin, DiBiase running in and stealing Damian, Heenan top of the world with Rude IC title win -- it's all etched into my memory forever and vividly. And even now, when I can appreciate the show pretty much stinks (especially uncut), I still love that one. I probably wouldn't have ever become a wrestling fan if it wasn't for that VHS. It was for me the first Wrestlemania I saw thanks to Sky who decided to reair it in the lead up to the Savage/Hogan Main Event show. Loved every second of this show and probably watched it 50 or so times.
C.S.
The first WCW Uncensored - I loved that damn truck match, even if both wrestlers ended up getting fired over it (something I doubt I knew at the time, unless Alex Marvez mentioned it in his newspaper wrestling column) - Big Bubba (Boss Man) getting an upset victory over Sting. For some reason, I found this awesome. - I don't remember the rest of the card, but didn't it involve some dumb finish with Flair in drag losing a match he wasn't even - Hogan and Vader? Survivor Series '92 - Just remember every match being fun and good. Now, by fun and good, I don't mean five-star classic. - First Bret vs. HBK match on a PPV. For this reason alone, it has historical significance. Such an interesting time for the WWE...a major transition period. I don't think Bret vs. HBK was even the main event or a World Title match when this card was first announced.

Strummer
I love Survivor Series 90. Watched it on tape all the time growing up. WM 4 and WM 5 are the big ones that everyone hates but they took place at the peak of my mark fandom so I could never hate them
Sean Liska
"Love" is too strong but I've never had a problem with Mania 15. I liked the show-long storyline of who was going to ref the main event with the crowd going nuts when Foley came out to eliminate Vince during the Rock-Austin match. Also a good show-long storyline culminating in HHH's heel turn, which was a big deal historically. Bart Gunn getting his head taken off was a spectacle. Austin-Rock and XPac-Shane were both fun. Tag, hardcore, and IC matches were perfectly fine. Bossman being murdered was kind of a cool visual. Show ended with a hugely satisfying payoff of Austin overcoming Vince to win the title and celebrating with his foot on his Vince's chest. I don't know, I didn't have big expectations for WWE PPVs at this time since every show since the prior year's SummerSlam sucked except St Valentine's Day Massacre. Sidebottom
Bret/Shawn wasn't even an IC title match. The magazine advertised Bulldog vs the Mountie. It was advertised on television a fair bit as well... I remember they had a video screen back and forth on Prime Time as well, frankly one of the only times I remember video for Davey with the IC belt apart from the time he won and lost it. soup23
WM4 is a bloated mess that doesn't contain a match that would even sniff good. It also had numerous things surrounding it that was more historically significant. A show I loved a ton as a good for the Double Box VHS and "yellow" look that is pure torture to sit through today. anarchistxx
Think I meant the ECWA tournament in 2001 in my earlier post having flash checked the results. Both had Ki/Dragon in the final.
Dwide Schrude
Wrestlemania 12. People crap all over the Iron Man Match, say HBK/Bret have much better matches, say other Iron Man matches are much better, but I loved this one. Heavy on restholds but it fit into the context of the match where Shawn was trying to work a slower/smarter place to contradict what Bret said about capitalizing on Shawn making mistakes. Before the last 15 minutes when HBK went all out with moonsalts, 180 double axe handles, etc. Until the last minute of the match where he took one too many chances, made a mistake, and capitalized. The rest is history. The Piper/Goldust was fun and it worked because it was still nostalgic seeing Piper in there. This was before WCW started overkilling that a year later. Got to see Warrior squash HHH. Diesel/Undertaker had a genuine big match feel to it.

Fans generally I guess dont like it because they went a hour without one fall which is something ive always detested with the HHH/Rock one because of regular moves getting a 3 count. rainmakerrtv
I have very fond memories of Summerslam 1991. Not quite the intended direction of the question, but I also love the less heralded matches of Super Brawl 2. Rhodes/Windham vs Zbyszko/Austin and Pillman vs Liger deservedly get a lot of praise, but I also love the other matches like Morton/Vinnie Vegas vs Zenk/Van Hammer (the Superbrawl Miracle Match), Simmons vs Cactus Jack, and even Bagwell vs Taylor. soup23
Maybe Bret vs. Flair is my pick then as I can't believe people would prefer that 60 minute schtick fest between Owen vs. Bret over the Flair match.

That one was miles better than the Summerslam match and its kind of a hidden gem in that PPV something you wouldnt expect. Makes you kinda wonder had they let Steamboat/Savage happen in the tournament at Mania 4 because had Steamboat won they would have wrestled if it would have topped mania 3. Loss
Based on Wrestlemania IV bracketing, Steamboat-Savage would have happened in the quarterfinals instead of Savage-Valentine, had Steamboat won his first round match. But it didn't because Valentine beat Steamboat in the first round.

What I meant was in the first round the way the pairings had been set was the winner of the Savage/Reed match would wrestle the winner of the Steamboat/Valentine match in the quarter finals so what I was asking was if this had happen and both Steamboat & Savage had won their matches would that match have topped their Mania 3 match. Smack2k
Sorry, no way Savage / Steamboat Mania IV in the tourney would have TOUCHED 87….couple reasons.. 1. BIG ONE - Time / Show…their match would not have been given the amount of time their Mania 3 match did in the middle of a tournament with like 100 matches on the show... I know quick matches can be good, but no way it touches Mania 3 2. Face vs Face / No Storyline - Both guys were faces and there was no hatred storyline going into it that had one guy trying to finish the other off and also trying to protect a title he had held onto for over a year. And no way WWF mentions what Savage did to Steamboat before Mania III when they are putting the title on him about 90 min later! 3. Savage…Savage was winning that tournament and Steamboat was on the way out, no way they let Steamboat have that kind of match with the guy that's gonna be their champ…I know Valentine gave him a decent (yet quick) match, but he wasn't going anywhere...
