WingedEagle Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 No Raw tonight, and many are probably snowed in for the next 36 hours. What wrestling are you watching in the meantime? On tap for this guy: 1994 Yearbook (up to the beginning of June) Best of Japan 2000s list -- up to Kanemura vs. KENTA (NOAH 5/26/2002) Jun Akiyama vs. Takao Omori (AJPW 6/15/2014) Go Shiozaki & Kento Miyahara vs. Jun Akiyama & Takao Omori (AJPW 12/6/2014) Rush vs. Negro Casas (CMLL 8/1/2014) Titan vs. Barbaro Cavernario (CMLL 7/29/2014) Maybe some '89 NWA as well. What you got? Quote
El-P Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 After last night's disaster, it's actually probably for the better. It will gave them one week to think about how dumb they are. Well, scratch that, they had one year and still didn't get the idea. Quote
goodhelmet Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 STAMFORD, Conn. – Due to the impending blizzard in the Northeast and statewide travel bans, WWE has postponed tonight’s live event in Hartford and cancelled tomorrow night’s live event in Boston; however, WWE will emanate live tonight at 8 p.m. ET from its studios in the Stamford world headquarters. It sounds like they are doing a show from HQ studio style. Quote
The Chief Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I wonder if the live Steve Austin show is still on? That was supposed to be tonight, right? Quote
The Chief Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Per wwe.com Roman Reigns to speak on his Royal Rumble crowd reaction tonight Quote
ButchReedMark Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 LAW tweeted they're showing the Rumble match and the Triple Threat match. It's bad enough WWE like to call people that buy the PPVs stupid all the time, but that'd make me really pissed. Quote
Exposer Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I actually might tune in to Reigns response. Curious what will be said there. Probably nothing. Quote
shoe Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I'll tell you if this was WCW DB would be turned heel, or long losing streak . Quote
ButchReedMark Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Now it's started I am actually angry that I paid £9.99, for WWE to give the matches away from free the next night. Fuck them. And fuck JBL being a weatherman on the roof, he's no Dave Brown in yet another field. Quote
The Chief Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I'll tell you if this was WCW DB would be turned heel, or long losing streak . I have a weird feeling they're going to try to repeat the Wyatt heel turn from last year but make it stick regardless of reactions. They copied every other bone head decision from last January. Quote
sporadic Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 This is not going to work to their advantage. Its going to show how dominant Lesnar is, how over Bryan is, how his elimination was garbage, how poorly Reigns showed, and how even The Rock couldn't win the crowd for them. How the fuck ANYONE believes this is a good idea is beyond me... Quote
ButchReedMark Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Despite their hand being forced, WWE had a golden opportunity to do something new and different and exciting tonight, even if just for one week, a fresh presentation which could have gone some way to placate complaints from last night, but instead Michael Cole does his best Sean Mooney impression in the control centre and the foibles of last night are just exposed to an even bigger crowd. Now millions of people are going to see just how boring a Royal Rumble match can be! Quote
shoe Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 You don't think they're going to edit out the boos from the Rumble when they air it tonight on Raw? Quote
sek69 Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Everyone seems to expect them to edit the boos, but considering pretty much every media outlet has run a "WWE botches #2 PPV" story there's no point. Quote
goodhelmet Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 The Royal Rumble match in its entirety.... are they fucking nuts? Quote
kjh Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Think of the ratings! It worked for WCW when DDP vs. Goldberg was cut off mid-match with many cable carriers. Quote
The Chief Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Wow, watching this replay and the fans aren't even doing the countdown for new entrants. Didn't pick up on that before. That's so sad. Quote
Blehschmidt Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I think they have definitely done some editing of the crowd. Not enough to be horribly obvious, but there seem to be some missing Daniel Bryan chants and slightly less loud booing. Edit: The CM Punk chant still showed up, maybe I'm wrong. Quote
Benbeeach Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 This isn't necessarily sadder on the rewatch, but man, you hear the pop for brian, the legitmate top face eruption, and then see this again . . . man. It's one of the most baffling booking flubs in recent memory. Quote

I am not into conspiracy theories but it may just be a transmission thing from network to TV. I don't know but the crowd feels more subdued. Quote
Blehschmidt Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I didn't even notice the complete and utter lack of any crowd reaction what so ever for Show or Kane's entrance's last night. Quote
Matt D Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I've tried to spell this out elsewhere, but I haven't worded it right yet, so I'll try again. There was a period after Bryan was gone where there were guys in the ring hitting each other, and the crowd just wasn't buying into it as being "real." It wasn't part of a movie anymore. It was just a script. I've never seen wrestling look quite so fake before, and that had nothing to do with the guys in the ring who were incredibly competent for the most part. The spell was just completely and utterly broken. Quote
goodhelmet Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 We Want Refunds came out pretty clear. The response to Regins feels the same. Quote
goodhelmet Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 We Want Rusev was loud and clear. Loud pop for Rock turned instantly to boos. Quote
