We start off this episode of World Championship Wrestling with Solie joined by Koko Ware and they talk about the end of yesterday's GCW where Koko felt the wrath of the Gentleman's Club and Koko said that he knew once he got through with Bruiser Brody that he couldn't rest easy. Koko said that Gentleman Jim Holliday has brought together a group of bad individuals and even though Mike George is out of action this Rip Oliver is a great addition to their team but now they have started a war with him and they are going to need to add 10 more guys to their team if they think they are going to put him away. Koko said that he is going to win the National Heavyweight Title soon and that no one will stop him.

We come back from break with Solie joined by "Adorable" Adrian Adonis and they talk about his debut beating Scott McGhee yesterday on GCW and the offer he received from the Gentleman's Club to which Adonis said that he had no comment on at the moment. Adonis said that he has spent the last month in Japan and was getting updates on the happenings in Georgia as often as he could and all he could do was think about how great the competition was here and how he wanted to be in the mix. Adonis said that he doesn't care who he has to face when he has to face them or where he has to face them he wants to win as many matches as he could because of the money and the fact that it gets him closer to getting a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Adonis said that beating McGhee yesterday was step one because McGhee had a fluke win over Race on TBS and he put him away like it was nothing.

Solie is joined by Masked Superstar after the break and they talk about recently going to the WWA and Superstar said that there are a lot of politics going on there where he can't get title shots especially at NWA World Champ Harley Race. Superstar said that's one of the reasons why he came back to Georgia this weekend because he knew Race would be here and he wanted to make his presence known. Superstar also said that WWA Champion Chavo Guerrero is on full watch right now and that he will take his title off of him. Solie asked Superstar about the differences between working in the WWA compared to working in Georgia and Superstar said that the fans know and appreciate him here because they came around to what he was doing...he never changed they did....the fans of the WWA haven't been so smart yet.

Freddie Miller then goes over all the major NWA events that is coming up next week.

We come back and Solie is now joined by 'Mr. Unpredcitable" Dick Slater who said that it's always great to be back in Georgia but working in Puerto Rico isn't so bad. Solie asks Slater what is his current situation there and Slater said that he has been battling politics there just like Superstar has in WWA because he says they play favorites in Puerto Rico just like everywhere else. Slater said that guys like Carlos Colon & Mil Mascaras think they can do whatever they want but they will soon learn that Americans are better than they are and that he is bringing in his good friend Terry Funk to take care of that little piece of business. Solie then has Slater help him narrate clips of Slater working against Mil Mascaras from WWC before asking Slater about why he is here and Slater said that he has seen that the Gentleman's Club is trying to run roughshot over everyone here but he wants them to know that he has lots of friends here and he will be on the next plane out of Puerto Rico any time he is needed.

Next Solie is joined by Gentleman Jim Holliday and the rest of the Gentleman's Club and Holliday tells Solie that you have to take the good with the bad sometimes and it is a big blow to lose Mike George indefinitely thanks to Paul Orndorff but to add someone like "The Crippler" Rip Oliver the GC is still the dominant force in wrestling. Holliday vowed that instead of broken shoulders we are going to get broken necks now and Paul Orndorff is #1 on the hitlist. Solie then asked Super Destroyer about his issues with Masked Superstar and Super D said that the Superstar doesn't know when it's time to step away and see that it's his time to shine as the #1 masked man in wrestling. Super D said that at The Omni tonight he will have to beat some sense into him and take his mask off to prove his point even more. Solie then turns his attention towards "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer and mentions that he seems pretty calm considering what is happening in just a few hours at The Omni and Sawyer said that he has nothing to worry about because he has Tommy Rich in a cage which is his environment and he knows without a shadow of a doubt that he will be standing here next week while Tommy Rich will be either in a hospital or standing on the side of a road with his thumb out trying to hitch a ride to the nearest town that will give him a job. Solie then asked Sawyer his prediction for tonight and Sawyer stared into the camera and just simply said....pain.....

Freddie Miller then goes over all the major GCW events in the upcoming week.

We come back from break with Solie joined by Paul Orndorff who is excited about being back on TBS after being out for almost a month and said that he has vanquished one foe in Mike George and tonight at The Omni he is going to achieve his lifelong dream and that is winning the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Harley Race which will serve two purposes and that is winning the title plus he plans on giving Race the piledriver of his life and said that Emory Hospital better have a room ready for him because that is where he will be spending his night once he gets through with him.

Next we get Solie who talks about the feud that has manifested between "Hacksaw" Butch Reed & Jake "The Snake" Roberts over the National Heavyweight Title and we get a video of their matches/angles set to "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John.

Solie is joined by the National Tag Champions The Shadow Riders ("Hangman" Bobby Jaggers & Johnny Mantell) and we get clips of the National Tag Titles Tournament that took place in Macon, Georgia on 8/2 with Jaggers saying that the tournament was one of the toughest nights he has had in wrestling but they came out on top like they always do. Mantell then brought up about how now they have the big target on their back as you have Gagne/Weingroff, Armstrong/Whatley, The Oates Brothers, The Southern Studs, and now these Nightmares are in the area. Jaggers agreed saying that the tag team scene in Georgia is as tough as anywhere in the world right now but they are tougher than all of those teams are combined. Mantell then followed by saying that these titles will be around these cowboys' waists for a long time. At that time, Brad Armstrong & "Pistol" Pez Whatley come out and said that we already have beaten you in a non-title match so put your money where your mouth is and put those titles up on the line. Jaggers yelled at Armstrong that they got lucky in that match but they are fighting champions and they will put their titles on the line against them next week on GCW.

We come back from break with Solie saying that he wanted to get Tommy Rich out here one last time to talk about his match with Sawyer for tonight but Solie said that Tommy wanted to stay to himself and that he is as focused as he has ever seen him throughout the 6 years he has known him. Solie did call for Mr. Wrestling to come out and asked him about the match with Mr. Wrestling saying that this feud has been one of the roughest ones he has ever seen in wrestling but his gut tells him that Tommy Rich will come out on top. Solie then asked Mr. Wrestling about his new role as an authority figure for GCW and Mr. Wrestling said that Mr. Ted Turner came to him directly and asked him to please try and keep this Gentleman's Club from trying to take over the TV show so here he is and that no one will intimidate him which brings out Holliday who yells at Mr. Wrestling saying that he isn't what he used to be and that he's too old. Holliday then says that his guys will take him out when the time's right and they will rip that mask off his head. Mr. Wrestling then told Holliday that the only way that would happen would be over his dead body which Holliday responded with saying that he could make that happen which angered Solie who said we are out of time we will see you next week.

This week's episode of Georgia Championship Wrestling starts off with Gordon Solie joined by Gentleman Jim Holliday who does the GC roll call because the show can't start until that has been done. Holliday proclaims to Solie that this is the week that Adrian Adonis decides whether he wants to be a made man or whether he wants to be a dead man. Holliday said that the Gentleman's Club is the most dominant force in wrestling right now even with Mike George on the shelf thanks to Paul Orndorff who will get his payback later on in the show but with Adonis joining the GC they would be unstoppable. Holliday then demands Adonis come out which he does and asks him if he has made his decision which Adonis answers by saying that he isn't sure if Holliday really wants him. Holliday asks him if he is serious about that and Adonis said yes that if he really wants him then he would put one of his boys in a match against him right then and there as a test to see if he is Gentleman's Club material. Holliday looks at him confused but says okay he will gladly send in "King Kong" Angelo Mosca for a match. Adonis said that he wants this match to be clean though and asks for the others to leave which Holliday agreed and told his boys to go to the back.

MATCH #1

"Adorable" Adrian Adonis vs. "King Kong" Angelo Mosca

Adonis called Freddie Miller to the ring for a microphone and Adonis told Holliday that he has something to sweeten this match and he told Holliday that he has a $5,000 check for him to be in his corner instead of Mosca. Holliday again looks confused but says that he can never turn down money so he shakes Adonis' hand and takes the check. Adonis & Mosca then proceed to have a pretty clean match before Adonis calls for Holliday to give him something which he does and Adonis KO's Mosca with what looks like brass knux and then locks on Goodnight Irene which puts away an already limp Mosca in 10:34. Adonis then asks Holliday to come in the ring and they celebrate before Adonis kicks Holliday in the stomach and gives him a couple of diving kneedrops before taking his check and running out when the rest of the GC run out to make the save. The studio goes nuts here as after the GC helps Holliday out of the ring Adonis goes back to Solie and says Holliday is a complete fool if he thought he would ever join up with him but he admits that they think alike as they are only loyal to money not anyone else.

Freddie Miller then goes over the major NWA events of the past week.

We come back from break with Solie and an angry Angelo Mosca who is selling the brass knux shot from the last segment and he says that he now knows how Holliday truly feels about him and said that he is a money hungry troll. Mosca said that he doesn't need anyone like that in his life and that he is his own man now so everyone must now be on watch because he is an angry monster that can't be stopped.

Solie then calls out "Diamond" Timothy Flowers who is joined by his manservant Pablo and Flowers said that it is great to finally be in Atlanta, Georgia after hearing so much about the wonderful nightlife this city has to offer. Timothy said that a lot of the wrestlers told him about Stewart Avenue & Buckhead but that isn't what he is interested in although he met some nice gentleman at Piedmont Park who were very helpful in showing him a good time as Solie sighed heavily. Flowers said that now he most focus on business and said that he is here to make a statement that he is one of the best wrestlers around and that he would face anyone they put in front of him.
[
MATCH #2

"Diamond" Timothy Flowers vs. Jerry Bryant

Bryant tries to get Flowers in some quick cradles early for an upset win but Flowers would break free and eventually locked on the figure-four leglock to win in 6:13. Flowers wouldn't release the hold though until Ron Ritchie ran out and broke it up his way. Flowers then got up and shoved Ritchie who shoved back causing Flowers to leave the ring. Flowers then went back to Solie saying that just because Ritchie is handsome doesn't mean he can put his hands all over him and he wanted a match with him next week.

We come back from break with Solie joined by "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer who is all alone and they go over what happened at The Omni last Sunday night with clips of the cage match against Tommy Rich where Buzz sent Tommy packing and Buzz said that there was never a shadow of a doubt that Rich would be leaving here. Buzz said that he is top dog of the Gentleman's Club and that being in that position means that he must be at his best at all times against all challengers no matter who they are. Solie then brings up his attack on Jake Roberts in Gainesville earlier last Sunday and clips are shown with Buzz saying that Jake had his chance to stand beside him as the leaders of the Gentleman's Club but he made the wrong move just like Adrian Adonis earlier today. Sawyer then warned Angelo Mosca saying that he was the low man on the pole in the GC anyway and that he could easily be replaced.

MATCH #3

"Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer vs. Rick McCord

Sawyer is just destroying McCord hitting him with multiple powerslams and then hits a diving body press off the top rope which is his normal finisher but he refuses to pin McCord and just keeps beating on him until Jake Roberts ran out for a wild brawl where Jake goes for the DDT but Sawyer slips out and leaves the ring. Sawyer won by DQ in 8:51.

Freddie Miller then goes over all the major GCW events from the past week.

After the break, Solie brings out The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) and asks them about working here as well as Southeastern Championship Wrestling and Davis said that this area is where the tag team scene is at it's hottest right now and they just want a piece of the action. Wayne then said that last week they had a big chance to make a name for themselves against Greg Gagne & George Weingroff before The Southern Studs came out to stick their noses in their business. Wayne said that they didn't need any help especially from them which brings out the Studs and Chick Donovan tells Wayne that they were getting their tails kicked up and down the ring so they felt like they needed to save them from further embarassment which promoted Wayne to slap Chick in the face. Davis then told them that if they think they are better than they are then let's take it to the ring. Tommy Wright then tells them that they have nothing to prove to them because their track record speaks for itself which Wayne responded with yeah all those losses have been stacking up lately haven't they which prompted a brawl that spilt to the ring where both teams started fighting each other until the Nightmares got the best of it and sent the Studs scurrying out. Davis then told Solie that as long as people are making challenges for nest week then they would join them and they wanted the Studs next week.

MATCH #4

"The Crippler" Rip Oliver vs. Roberto Soto

Good back and forth to start this but Oliver snaps as Soto almost had him pinned after a running forearm smash and he starts giving Soto multiple piledrivers. Scrappy McGowan then tried to stop him but Oliver attacked him and gave him a piledriver for a DQ in 8:25. Oliver kept up his rampage until Angelo Mosca ran out to attack his former friend. Sawyer & Super Destroyer then run out to make it 3-on-1 until Jake ran out where he dropped Sawyer and Super D with DDT's as the crowd goes nuts.

Mr. Wrestling then grabbed a mic and said that this madness ends right now and he announces that Jake, Mosca, and the entire Gentleman's Club must leave the studio right now and if they don't then they would be suspended for 30 days. Jake goes over to Mr. Wrestling and tells him that he would do what he says but he has no jurisdiction over him outside of the studio and that the Gentleman's Club better hire some security because the DDT will find them when they least expect it.

We come back from break with Butch Reed & Koko Ware joining Solie and they talk about their current and future battles with Jake and both men said that the would love it if the other won the National Heavyweight Title but they have also decided to join forces and they want a piece of the National Tag Titles which brings out the champions The Shadow Riders and Bobby Jaggers tells Reed that they may be good singles wrestlers but they haven't proven themselves worthy of a title shot as a tag team and there are plenty of other teams that are more deserving. Reed then said that there is definitely some great teams in Georgia right now but he and Koko think that with the right amount of time together they can make their presence felt. Johnny Mantell then tells Koko that he is the weak link any way and that all of these big wins he has had lately have been nothing but luck which pissed off Koko who challenged Mantell right then and there.

MATCH #5

Koko Ware vs. Johnny Mantell

This was a good high energy match with both men working hard as Reed & Jaggers were at ringside watching. Koko would hit his missile dropkick on Mantell and he thought he had him finished but as this is happening Jaggers attacks Reed on the floor then runs in the ring and attacks Ware with the bullrope for the DQ in 11:41. It's 2-on-1 until Brad Armstrong & "Pistol" Pez Whatley run in to make the save. Armstrong & Whatley then go over to Solie afterwards and say that the National Tag Titles would be around their waists soon. Reed comes over to thank them for helping him & Koko out but he said that he & Koko were going to take them belts from the Riders which brings out Mr. Wrestling who tells them that there is a way to resolve this and he tells them that he would make a #1 contenders match next week between them. This brings out Greg Gagne & George Weingroff along with Jerry & Ted Oates and both teams complain about how is it that these two teams that are makeshift teams get to have this important match when neither of them have proven anything. Mr. Wrestling then said okay how bout we do this then....we will have a #1 contenders tournament next week right here on TV with all of you guys as well as the Nightmares & Southern Studs and the 3 winners will face off in a 3 Way match to determine the true #1 contenders.

We come back from break with Solie joined by "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff who talks about his weekend last weekend returning to the scene and getting his shot at Harley Race and Orndorff said that he was very close to getting the NWA World Heavyweight Title and one day it would be around his waist but right now his mind is dead set on eliminating the Gentleman's Club. Orndorff said that the GC has a lot of enemies right now and they better regroup because now that Mosca is gone that leaves only 3 of them that are healthy since Mike George is still in the hospital after he ate my piledrivers last week.

MATCH #6

"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff vs. Les Thornton

This was a good scientific match where Orndorff would use a backslide on Thornton in 13:12 to win.

MATCH #7

"Golden Boy" Chick Donovan vs. Greg Gagne

Gagne would get the Indian Deathlock on Chick and had him put away when Wright would run in for the DQ in 9:01 which brought in Weingroff. The Shadow Riders would then run out to attack both teams which brought out The Nightmares, The Oates Brothers, Armstrong & Whatley, and Reed & Ware all in succession for a wild all over the studio brawl where everyone is going nuts as Solie closes the show.

GCW continues to put forth a good effort. I am very excited to see the continual rise of both Butch Reed and Jake Roberts. I have no doubt they will be the biggest stars to come out of GCW when all is said and done. I like what you've done with Koko as well. You have made him legitimate and a contender. I currently have you 2nd in the power rankings due to the sheer power of your roster and the layout of your shows. Keep up the good work.

This week's episode of Georgia Championship Wrestling begins with Gordon Solie joined by Mr. Wrestling who tells Gordon that this is a big day for GCW as they have the #1 Contenders Tournament for the National Tag Titles and that he is sick and tired of all the interference in matches on TV so he said that if anyone interferes in any matches today they would be fined $5,000.

MATCH #1

#1 Contenders Tournament for the National Tag Titles: Brad Armstrong & "Pistol" Pez Whatley vs. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne)

Good back and forth match but Brad would catch Wayne with a Russian Legsweep in 10:33 to advance to the finals. Armstrong & Pez would join Solie at ringside after the match and they guaranteed victory in the finals today and they would be wearing those National Tag Titles very soon.

Freddie Miller runs down all the major NWA events from the previous week before going to break.

We come back from break with Solie joined by "Diamond" Timothy Flowers and his manservant Pablo with Flowers telling Gordon that he has been on tour all week in Ohio, Michigan, & West Virginia and now he knows what hell feels like because all he saw was ugly people. Flowers said that no one had a tan and the men all had beards which he can't stand but the women had even longer ones. Flowers said that Ron Ritchie highly insulted him last week and he has had battles with him over the previous week on tour but now he will have to prove himself on TV to see if he is in his class.

MATCH #2

"Diamond" Timothy Flowers vs. Ron Ritchie

Ritchie has Flowers on the ropes early and Flowers looks at Pablo for help but Pablo makes a dollar sign symbol with his hands regarding the $5,000 fine for interfering. Flowers would eventually get control though and got Ritchie in a figure-four leglock to win the match in 9:13. Flowers then went to Solie after the match and said that Ritchie was just a boy and that he only deals with real men.

We come back from break with Solie joined by Greg Gagne & George Weingroff and they talk about all the problems they have had with the Southern Studs over recent weeks with clips shown and they talk about how today is the most important matchup in their rivalry. Weingroff tells Greg that today he will he finally show him his worth as a tag partner and they will soon become National Tag Team Champions. Gagne tells George that he thought we were done with this stuff about him not feeling like he is worthy because he most definitely is. Weingroff said that we are about to find out for sure.

MATCH #3

#1 Contender Tournament for the National Tag Titles: The Southern Studs (Chick Donovan & Tommy Wright) vs. Greg Gagne & George Weingroff

Weingroff started the match strong taking it to the Studs but they would catch him in their corner and started taking control and also as this happened Donovan & Wright would take turns knocking Gagne off the apron thus keeping Weingroff from tagging him. Weingroff just kept getting punished as Gagne was fighting his own battles. The end of the match happened as when Donovan was brawling with Gagne on the floor, Wright caught Weingroff with a backdrop suplex then made him submit to the Boston Crab. Gagne comes in the ring after the match and tries to help Weingroff but George gets up and yells "WHERE WERE YOU" at him and Gagne explains that the Studs were attacking him and keeping him from tagging him. George then tells Greg that he has been taking advantage of his insecurity this whole time just to keep himself from getting beaten up. George said that he has been the one that has always been beaten in their matches while Greg played the role of consoling partner. George said that he understands that Gagne is a bigger star than he is but he needs to prove himself as not just an equal partner but an equal adversary so he wants a match next week on TV. Gagne said that George you aren't thinking clearly right now but gets slapped in the face with George saying that he is fine and that he must do this to save his career before walking off. Gagne tells Solie that he now has no choice but giving George the match he wants but it will be scientific and no roughhousing.

Freddie Miller then goes over all the GCW events from the past week before going to break.

We come back from break with Gordon joined by the National Heavyweight Champion Jake "The Snake" Roberts who gets a huge ovation from the crowd but Jake is non-plussed saying that there are enemies all around him. Jake said that the Gentleman's Club are on his hitlist but he warned Orndorff, Reed, & Ware that they aren't immune from his venom either and that the only friends he has slithers around like he does. Solie asks Jake about Adrian Adonis & Angelo Mosca being similar to him in their battles with the Gentleman's Club and he said that yeah they have their thing going on just like him and yes they share some common ground but by no means are they friends of his which brings out Adonis who tells Jake that he is just like him in that he needs no friends either because growing up in New York City he pounded pavements throughout his childhood and needed no one to watch his back or stand by his side. Mosca now comes out next and tells them that he also doesn't look for help and when he played football he would fight his own teammates all the time because he was his own man but when it came time to go to battle they stood together for the common cause of beating their opponents. Mosca then puts the offer out there to Jake & Adonis that if the Gentleman's Club thinks they are going to run roughshot over them they better know that they would be watching each other's backs. Adonis looks at both men and says we will see....Mosca walks off saying that he guesses that is better than nothing.....Jake is left alone and said that he considers both of them threats for his title and that means that he can't trust them but who knows....Solie looks confused.

MATCH #4

"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff vs. Rick McCord

Orndorff wins fairly easily using a Piledriver in 4:51.

After a break, The Gentleman's Club comes out with Holliday giving a smaller roll call than normal because there is only 3 men left which he tells Solie won't be long because there are always reinforcements on call. Holliday then tells Solie that he almost cried his eyes out earlier over the meeting of the minds between Jake, Adonis, & Mosca saying that those guys couldn't work together if you paid them to because they are so full of themselves. Holliday said that Mosca was the weak link of the GC and he will be the weak link of anything he is involved with because that is the way it is. Mosca then comes out and grabs Rip Oliver from behind and throws him into the ring but before he could do anything Sawyer & Super D run in to jump him for a 3-on-1 attack before Adonis ran out to help but still the numbers game was on the GC side.....until Jake ran out and started laying people out with DDT's and almost including Adonis who Jake let go of. Jake then stared at Adonis & Mosca and slithered out of the ring.

MATCH #5

#1 Contender Tournament for the National Tag Titles: "Hacksaw" Butch Reed & Koko Ware vs. Jerry & Ted Oates

This was a scientific match for the most part but the Oates brothers would turn up the intensity prompting Reed & Koko to follow in kind. Koko would hit a missile dropkick on Ted to get the win at 11:21.

Mr. Wrestling would come out after the match and said that he has gotten confirmation from the Gentleman's Club and Adonis/Mosca/Jake for a 6-man tag match to happen next week on TV. Mr. Wrestling also announced that if the GC won the match then Gentleman Jim Holliday can pick the opponent for Jake on the NWA 35th Anniversary Show at The Omni on 9/4.

MATCH #6

The Shadow Riders ("Hangman" Bobby Jaggers & Johnny Mantell) vs. Jerry Bryant & Roberto Soto

The Riders were pumped up today because they were going to find out who the real #1 contenders are to their titles and they punished poor Bryant here. Mantell would drop him with a German Suplex then tagged in Jaggers who used the Hangman hold to win in 5:09. After the match, the Riders said that they were going to watch the next match with Solie because they wanted to scout their future opponents.

MATCH #7

#1 Contenders Tournament for the National Tag Titles - Finals: "Hacksaw" Butch Reed & Koko Ware vs. Brad Armstrong & "Pistol" Pez Whatley vs. The Southern Studs (Chick Donovan & Tommy Wright)

This was under elimination rules and the first team elimianted was Armstrong & Pez when Chick gave Wright a pair of brass knux which he used to KO Whatley in 12:34. This left the Studs with Reed & Ware and they have a spirited back and forth match where Wright was going to use the brass knux again but he accidentally KO'D Donovan by mistake as he was holding Ware and then Wright turned around to eat a diving shoulderblock off the top rope by Reed to end the match at 25:10. The Riders then jumped in the ring after the match and taunted Reed & Ware with their belts as the show went to black.

Yeah, Georgia is right up there for me too. I'm loving the tag division and the whole Jake/Adonis/GC/Reed/Koko situation. It's a concept I had thought to use right away but will have to wait a bit to employ due to having to remake the entire structure of the roster through the shows. It's one of my favorite promotions to read with Southeast and Southwest neck and neck (and neck?).
