Got some tough competition from my neighbours in Georgia, really stacked roster and knocking shows out daily. Sawyer-Rich is just something that me love being a wrestling just complete opposites that click and gel so well. When I first saw your roster I thought that you didn't have a strong tag division, but man are Jaggers and Mnatell holding there own in that division.

Looks like the South is hotting up with Georgia, Southeastern and Mid South, Canada better watch out for the best wrestling action around.

We start this week of Georgia Championship Wrestling with Gordon Solie telling us that today is the big day and coming up in minutes is the highly anticipated rematch for the National Heavyweight Title between "Hacksaw" Butch Reed and Jake "The Snake" Roberts with No Disqualification rules. Solie though brings out "Gentleman" Chris Adams first welcoming him to WTBS and talks about how Adams is becoming a big star in the Pacific Northwest/All-Star promotions even getting a big win over Stan "The Lariat" Hansen in the NWA International Heavyweight Title tournament. Adams said that it was the biggest win of his career and that Hansen gave him a serious battle even bloodying him up which was part of the reason why he lost in the finals to the Honky Tonk Man which brings out Les Thornton who comes out and says that Adams is a black mark on the greatness of British wrestling. Thornton said that Adams is a young punk who thinks that just because he has a judo background and his brother was an Olympian that it means that he can come into professional wrestling and become a big star. Thornton pokes his finger in Adams' chest and says that it won't happen on his watch which prompted Adams to challenge Thornton to a match on TV today. Thornton said that he would gladly take his challenge and he would prove just who is the best British wrestler right now.

MATCH #1

No DQ Match for the National Heavyweight Title: "Hacksaw" Butch Reed © vs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts

Freddie Miller announces before the match that this match has a 60:00 time limit thus giving both men plenty of time to win the match. Solie on commentary talks about how a match with that time limit is extremely rare for TV and that this is one of the most important matches he has ever called in his 23 years of announcing. Solie also says that there will be no commercial breaks during the match. This turned into a complete war as expected with both men just pounding each other with everything they had. Total slugfest where nearfalls came a plenty as the match went on and both men were getting frustrated at not being able to put the other one away. Reed would hit Jake with his big press slam to set up his diving shoulderblock off the top rope but as he climbed up top, Mike George ran out and threw him off the top then jumped in the ring to give him a shoulderbreaker. Jake would get up not knowing what happened and picked up Reed dropping him with a DDT then covered to win the title in 24:13.

After the match, Jake went over to Solie with his newly won title and said that now he controls everything that he is the National Heavyweight Champion and there is no one that will stop him on his path to domination. This brings out Gentleman Jim Holliday who comes out to congratulate Jake on winning the title saying that Jake should join the Gentleman's Club to give him the support he needs to stay champion. Jake tells Holliday that he doesn't need him or anyone because he is his own man and always has been with the only thing that matters to him is money and championships. Jake tells Holliday that he would he take all of his money if he ever went with him which angered Holliday who said that if it wasn't for him & Mike George then Jake wouldn't even be champion anyway. Jake said what are you talking about and Holliday asks for the replay to be shown where Jake finally sees that George hit Reed with the shoulderbreaker. Jake then tells Holliday that he didn't ask or need any help from him to beat Reed and that he better leave right now or there will be consequences. Holliday said he isn't leaving until he does his roll call and calls out the Gentleman's Club one-by-one who stand in front of Jake menacingly. Holliday then tells Jake that he better pick his battles wisely because he has no one to back him up. Jake then reiterated that he needs no one and clocks George with the National belt which prompted a beatdown from Gentleman's Club where they took Jake to the ring and all of them hit their finishers on him with Buzz Sawyer hitting his big diving body press off the top rope on Jake before grabbing the belt and standing over Jake's lifeless body as we went to commercial break.

We come back from break with Solie talking about how he couldn't believe what he just saw and that something must be done to stop the Gentleman's Club from thinking they can do whatever they want to do. Freddie Miller then joins Gordon and says that he just got off the phone with Ted Turner and he said that he was highly disappointed with the news he got about what just happened. Turner said that he would be at TV next week and would have a solution for the Gentleman's Club. Miller then goes over all the major NWA events from the past week before we go to break.

We come back with Solie joined by George Weingroff and they talk about what happened last week with the challenge he made to Bobby Jaggers for today and Weingroff said that he has never been more ready for a match in his life and he wants to prove to Greg Gagne that he is a worthy partner for him.

MATCH #2

"Hangman" Bobby Jaggers vs. George Weingroff

Weingroff really takes it to Jaggers to start giving him everything he had but Jaggers would cut him off and he started roughhousing him until Weingroff made a comeback getting some nearfalls with various cradles. Weingroff would get an O'Connor Roll on Jaggers and almost had a 3 count but Johnny Mantell would run in for the DQ in 7:41 and attacked George with the bullrope. Mantell started beating George bloody with the cowbell until Greg Gagne ran out but he got overwhelmed. Rick McCord & Ted Oates then ran out with chairs to make the save. They help the bloody Weingroff out of the ring and Solie catches Greg before he leaves and asks him does he think that George is a worthy partner and Greg answers saying that he would have no one else but him be his partner.

We come back from break with Solie introducing Crusher Blackwell who is in from Stampede Wrestling and Solie said that it's been quite a while since Jerry has been in the area. Blackwell said that it's great to be back home but he hates seeing so many ugly faces in the crowd though. He said that he thought the people of Calgary were ugly but Atlanta takes it to another level. Blackwell said that he has been up to his neck battling the Hart Family and that he had come home to regroup and plan on how he would eliminate them from wrestling. Scott McGhee then comes out and says that Blackwell is all mouth and always has been that it's like his stomach big and fat. McGhee says that he is close friends with the Hart's and that they called him up this week and told him that Blackwell was coming to town so he said that he would love to wrestle him right now. Blackwell slapped McGhee in the face and said get in the ring.

MATCH #3

Crusher Blackwell vs. Scott McGhee

McGhee really takes it to Blackwell early on and has the big man reeling hitting him with dropkicks and other high impact strikes but Blackwell wouldn't go down. McGhee then tried to suplex him and Blackwell would fall on him giving Blackwell the chance he needed to take over. Blackwell would use his weight to wear McGhee down but as he went for the big splash, McGhee would roll out of the way and Blackwell hit all mat. McGhee then went for the Boston Crab but Les Thornton would come out and Thornton started yelling at McGhee saying that he is the best British wrestler in the world not him or Adams. McGhee then let go of Blackwell and started pointing at Thornton telling him to get out of here and as he turned around he was met by a big clothesline from Blackwell who then covered him and with help from Thornton who held McGhee's foot under the bottom rope which wasn't seen by referee NicK Patrickm, Blackwell got the win in 8:32

We come back from commercial with Solie asking Thornton if he was proud of himself and Thornton said that these young punks are going to learn that again he is the Best in Britain. Adams then comes out and grabs Thornton from behind and runs him into the ring to start their match as the crowd goes nuts.

MATCH #4

"Gentleman" Chris Adams vs. Les Thornton

This is a damn good back and forth match with both men showing off their expertise in the British style. At one point Thornton was getting frustrated that Adams was doing so good getting in and out of holds. Thornton though would take control and hit Adams with his patented high-angle backbreaker but wouldn't go for the cover as he wanted to prove a point and then went for the move again which brought out Scott McGhee who got on the apron to yell at Thornton. Thornton went over to him and shoved him off the apron down to the floor but as Les turned around he ate a huge Superkick to the face and Adams covered to win in 9:13. Adams then celebrated with McGhee on the floor before going over to Solie and McGhee said that this is the Best of Britain right here and that Les should be ashamed to call himself a Brit.

Freddie Miller then goes over all the major GCW events from the previous week.

Next we are joined by the Gentleman's Club and they are gloating about their attack on not only Butch Reed but Jake Roberts earlier. Holliday says that NO ONE will turn down an offer from the GC and live to tell about the worst decision they ever made. Holliday said that it's now open season on the National Heavyweight Title and while Harley Race's bounties are still in effect, the price of winning the National Heavyweight Title is just as rich and it doesn't matter if it's Roberts, Reed, or whoever has the title because the GC is here to win championships and cash checks. Holliday then tells Solie that the fans are in for a great treat today as they will be able to see a rare sight of the GC all together in a match so he hopes that everyone that has a VCR get out their VHS or Beta tapes to save this for prosperity.

MATCH #5

The Gentleman's Club (Mike George, "King Kong" Angelo Mosca, "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer, & Super Destroyer) vs. Jerry Bryant, Rick McCord, Ted Oates, & Roberto Soto

The faces get some shine here but the GC is on another level and everyone takes their turns of displaying their offensive abilities. Bryant got isolated though and after eating a Superplex by Super D, he would eat a diving body press from Sawyer to end the match in 10:13. Sawyer then yelled out where is Reed...where is Roberts....hell where is Tommy Rich which of course brought out Rich who jumped him from behind. Rich was getting the best of Sawyer until the GC attacked him from behind and Rich would end up eating 2 shoulderbreakers from George before the GC was run out of the ring by the other babyfaces.

We come back from break with Solie talking about how this has been a bad day and something needs to happen soon to get some control back. Solie then switched gears and talked about how GCW is an open-door territory and that the newest acquisition is a young man named "Diamond" Timothy Flowers and Solie said that he has some tape of Flowers for everyone to see. We go to a scene of this extravagant house with lavish cars in a driveway and the cameraman goes to the door where he rings the bell to be met by a handsome young man named Pablo who says that Mr. Flowers has been expecting us...Pablo leads the camerman to the pool area where Flowers is laying on a deck chair and he tells Pablo that he doesn't need any services from him at the moment because he wants to talk to the people. Flowers introduces himself formally as "Diamond" Timothy Flowers the true Diamond in the rough that is called professional wrestling. Flowers said that he has been watching GCW on his satellite dish both in his home and in his private limo because it is the best wrestling in the world so he got in touch with the promotion and said that he must be a part of this action. Flowers said that he would be at TV next week and he hopes that some of these tough guys that think they are good wrestlers will step up to the plate and give him the stiff challenge that he always looks for.

After a commercial break, Freddie Miller joins Solie and says that they have gotten in touch with both Butch Reed & Jake Roberts who are at Emory Hospital but they would be on World Championship Wrestling tomorrow and both want to talk about what has happened today. Solie said that he can't wait for that. Miller also said that Ted Turner was also told of what happened with Tommy Rich a while ago and that he is going to fine Jim Holliday $10,000 for his actions today and demanded that the police escort them from the studio for the rest of the show which has been done.

Bruiser Brody then comes out and and tells Solie that he has travelled all over the country the past week but all that has been on his mind is the midget Koko Ware. Brody said that the stupid fans have been heckling him saying that Koko is gonna get him but he will have the last laugh and that he would never leave GCW. Koko then comes out and tells Brody that he isn't going to talk he wants to fight but he has something for him to look at. He hands Brody an envelope telling him to open it which Brody does and he pulls out an airplane ticket which is a one-way ticket to Vancouver which angers Brody who jumps Koko from behind then rolls him into the ring.

MATCH #7

Koko Ware vs. Bruiser Brody

Brody had declared that he would leave Georgia if he lost to Koko today and he did everything he could to put Ware away early on but Koko just kept fighting back. Brody even busted Koko open but the taste of his own blood gave Koko a sense of new life and he started coming back firing punches on Brody. Koko would hit his big missile dropkick on Brody but it wasn't enough to put him away as Brody kicked out. Brody then recovered and beat Koko down before going for the King Kong Kneedrop which he would miss as Koko rolled out of the way. Koko would get up and started working over Brody's knee leading to him grabbing a jackknife cradle in 12:16 to get the huge pinfall as the crowd went nuts. Solie also was excited saying that after such a terrible day, the dark cloud has been lifted. The babyface locker room emptied to hoist Koko up high as Solie said that Koko Ware has finished off the phenomenon known as Bruiser Brody as the show goes to black.

I love this! Kris knows he can never bring in Brody again, but the trade off was awesome!

In a vacuum, yes, this was great build-up and storytelling. For those looking to bring in Brody, it's going to be difficult to have him destroy your top faces to build heat after jobbing clean in this manner on national TV.

He didn't get squashed....he took the match mostly missed his finisher and got cradled.....

Boricua, I trust you can book around a fluke loss you are creative in your thinking.
