NintendoLogic
Stuff like Parts Unknown/Death Valley/Dudleyville excepted, of course. Colonel DeBeers is a classic example. In fairness to Ed Wiskoski, this was before Lethal Weapon 2 came out, so I wouldn't be surprised if he had no idea what a South African accent was supposed to sound like. Jean-Paul Levesque went in the exact opposite direction. His attempt at a French accent was Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins level bad. Arn Anderson. Billed from Minnesota despite having a Georgia accent thicker than a bowl of grits. Kofi Kingston back when he was supposed to be Jamaican. All the Quebecers who have been billed as French would probably qualify as well. It all sounds the same to me, but I'm sure French speakers can tell the difference. El-P
All the Quebecers who have been billed as French would probably qualify as well. It all sounds the same to me, but I'm sure French speakers can tell the difference. A guy from Quebec sounds as much from France as a guy from Tennessee sounds from London. Quebecers sound so funny to us (French people), they have a very strong and singular accent and there's differences in the language to the point some movies from Quebec are subtitled here because there's no way we can understand the slang and idiomatics. So yeah. Plus a Quebecers speaking english doesn't have the same french accent than a French speaking english.
SteveJRogers
Do moves count, whether its a heel being a heel, or a shoot? Like Edge being from Tampa?
The Thread Killer
I don't believe The Road Warriors were actually from Chicago, but they stuck with that story right to the end. On their DVD, Animal claimed they were both born on the South side of Chicago, and met up as kids, and became friends. Years later both of their families moved to Minneapolis from Chicago independently of each other, where they just happened to meet again at a gym as high schoolers. Then they started working out together, bouncing together, and trained to be wrestlers together, and the rest is history. I don't believe that, but I was surprised they stuck to the story on their DVD. Eventually Harlem Heat fessed up that they were from Houston, I figured the LOD would eventually admit they were from Minnesota, but nope. Stuff like Parts Unknown/Death Valley/Dudleyville excepted, of course. I'm not convinced Bubba Ray and Devon are from Dudleyville. I'll do you one better...I've been having some trouble locating Dudleyville altogether. I'm not sure how deep this conspiracy goes, but I'm starting to suspect they may not even be brothers after all.

Cap
Yokozuna was not actually from "the land of the rising sun". Although I thought it was the best fictional origin at the time, Cactus Jack did not hail from Truth or Consequences, NM.

Al
I'm a fairly trusting person. But sometimes I suspected that PY Chu Hi wasn't really from Japan.

sek69
Mr. Fuji doing his best Charlie Chan-esque Asian accent when he's Hawaiian. I mean, he's ethnically Japanese but you know what I mean. On a similar note, Italian Hero Santino Marella.
