TheBean Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I would be surprised if Flair makes the top 10. I have a feeling a lot of the "younger" wrestlers from the 2016 project will be making their way up the rankings. Regarding Flair vs Steamboat, I think I would probably rather watch a random Steamboat match over a random Flair match. I think if Steamboat would have had a few more active in ring years, he might be remembered better on his own. He dipped out right as Nitro was getting started iirc.
strobogo Posted January 9 Posted January 9 About a year before. Last matches are in August of 1994. Nitro starts September 1995.
TheBean Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Watched WCW '94 a few months back so knew it wasn't then but early 95 stuck in my mind for some reason. Points still the same.
sek69 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 So Hobbes is going to WWE and the Rascalz are going to AEW. This seems like one of those things that is the best move for all involved. TK doesn't seem to like to use big power guys as anything more than secondary muscle in a faction, so Hobbes probably hit his ceiling there, and obviously he's like a WWE wish list come to life. Toss in the rumors that Hunter wants to push more black guys to quell the one lingering critique of his booking, and this was the absolute perfect time to play the "bet on yourself" card. The Rascalz clearly are a great fit for AEW and their house style, and they got lucky enough to get out of dodge just in time to not have a front row seat for an all timer LOLTNA moment. Apparently there's something going on with Trey Miguel since he suddenly deleted all mentions of AEW from his social media, but honestly I think Myron Reed is better anyway so if its just the other 3 then that's fine.

Trey has already been released from AEW - apparently at his own request - and is taking a break from wrestling.
Edwin Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I'm sure others feel the same way and that it's most likely been said before, but the Kenny Omega/Will Ospreay/Kyle Flether wrestler mold is one of the main reasons I can't get into modern pro-wrestling. I'm not as passionate about wrestling discourse or wrestling in general anymore, but all 3 embody what I dislike about wrestling now. They all wrestle the same way and all of their matches are exactly the same. Endless high spots, tons of blatant thigh slap strikes, minimum story telling, endless 2.999999 kickouts to pop the crowd, etc. trying to desperately get a high star rating from some folks. That stuff can be fun when seen once or twice, but gets tiresome fast imo. I'm more of a casual now. I'll watch one or two of the big PPVs if there's nothing else on, but I won't go out of my way to watch them. Luckily there's enough territories footage I've never seen that I can always watch when I'm in the mood to watch some wrestling.
