I just love how much Ron Starr got pretty much beaten at his own game by a wrestler who could pull the exact same tactics like Arthur J. Crews did. I thought this made for a very interesting dynamic for the main event and it also made for something special given the rarity of outside titles being defended on the island!

Good TV wins for Boyd/Crusher, Caribbean Express and Los Mercenarios. We hear from the Starrs and Medicos as well. Just shows how stacked your tag division is. Leduc and Tamba added for Sept. 20th, YES! Sounds like Owen wants no more of Santana after the 20th even threatening to get lawyers involved. Looks like TNT has gotten a lot of good buzz during his suspension and rightfully so after that AWA Title match with Steamboat. Of course the highlight for me was Chicky and Riddle shaking hands in the ring. What a visual! Fun seeing the Starrs briefly getting support only for Chicky to turn that around in a matter of seconds LOL.

WWC House Show 8/15/86
Baranquitas, Puerto Rico

Ricky Santana & Jos LeDuc vs. Owen Hart & Abdullah Tamba Street Fight
Think this one was a brawl?  It was.  The two pairings you would expect paired off and never switched.  Santana was wearing cowboy boots to start with.  He didn't finish the match with shoes.  Hart brought a weightlifting belt and at one point produced brass knuckles.  The punch he used them for missed.  LeDuc brought an axe handle and Tamba brought Chicky's baseball bat with him.  All four were bloody by the end and Santana pinned Hart after a flying attack with the last remaining cowboy boot he had.

Bart Batten vs. the Crusher w/Barrabas
Barrabas was on the apron yelling right away and the Crusher took advantage of a distracted Bart to get the early advantage.  Bart made his comeback and used a headlock to control the bigger Crusher.  Barrabas constantly complained about choking and kept jumping up on the apron until Bart decked him and he went flying off.  The Crusher took advantage and worked Bart over, but Bart never stopped and rolled the Crusher up for nearfalls several times.  He punched his way back into it and hit a running crossbody that just kept the Crusher down for three.  Brad was smart enough to roll out of the ring and away from danger, holding his arms up in victory as Barrabas ranted at him from the ring.

Brad Batten vs. Jonathan Boyd w/Barrabas
Boyd started slowly this time, working holds with Batten until an opening seemed to present itself for a big right hand.  That Batten quickly blocked and countered with a big right of his own.  Batten controlled for a short while until Barrabas tripped him up and Boyd went to work.  Barrabas distracted referee Tomas Marin and allowed Boyd to illegaly choke Batten when a comeback looked imminent.  Batten did get his comeback, but Barrabas cracked him across the back with a chair while Boyd had Marin distracted and Boyd hit the three point clothesline for the three count.  Barrabas ordered boyd to continue the attack, but Bart and the Caribbean Express hit the ring quickly to make the save.

Los Mercenarios & Bobby Jaggers w/Chicky Starr vs. Dutch Mantell & Los Invaders (2 & 3)
Jaggers clearly had los Mercenarios going after Mantell in this match.  Jaggers outright refused to get in the ring with Mantell, but would do everything in his power to distract Dutch and allow one of the Mercs to get in a cheap shot.  It did work and Dutch took a Hellacious beating, but managed to come back and make the tag to Invader 3.  Although at a size disadvantage, Invader 3 was able to keep up the attack on all 3 opponents.  That is, until Chicky was able to hold him up long enough for both Mercs to double team him.  In the resulting chaos Jaggers was able to hit the hangman's neckbreaker and cover Invader 3 for the win.  Jaggers taunted Dutch Mantell on his way to the back.  Mantell had to be held back by Invader 2 and reminded of the fallen Invader 3.

Victor the Bodyguard & Los Primos Starr vs. Los Super Medicos & Carlitos Colon
The Starrs jumped Medico 3 before the bell and worked him over along with Victor.  Medico 3 made the tag to Medico 1 after low blowing Ron.  Medico 1 had things going his way until Chicky Starr used a low blow to change the momentum again.  The Starrs worked over Medico 1 and cut off his path to a tag more than a few times.  He fianlly crawled beween the legs of Ron and made the tagt to Colon, who came in and decimated Victor and the Starrs.  Colon got Victor alone in the ring and set him up for the figure four.  Victor didn't last long in the hold and submitted, with both Ron and Chicky pulling him out of the ring after the loss.  The Starrs were pelted with garbage on their way to the back.

Another crazy start with a wild street fight! Loved the finish with Santana nailing Owen with the boot. Battens-Boyd/Crusher continue to trade singles wins. This is such an awesome way to build towards the inevitable big tag match. Fun 6 man as Jaggers really pulled out the classic (not wanting to go face to face with Dutch) heel tactic. Jaggers taunting Dutch at the end adds to the fans chomping at the bit to see Dutch finally get him in the cage. Colon once again sends the fans home happy or is it pelting Chicky with garbage that sends them home happy? LOL

WWC House Show 8/16/86
Rafael A. Mangual Coliseum, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico

Bart Batten vs. Jonathan Boyd w/Barrabas
Bart took the fight right to Boyd, surprising the veteran brawler with his intensity from the opening bell.  Barrabas was instrumental in Boyd taking control of the match several times.  Batten fired up near the end and ended up going outside of the ring with Boyd down and attacking Barrabas.  This cost him as Boyd came off the ring apron with a double axe handle to Bart's back.  Boyd finished Bart off by rolling him up with his feet on the ropes.  Barrabas surprisingly did not order an attack, just sent a tired Boyd to the back with some instructions and the Crusher came out.

Brad Batten vs. The Crusher w/Barrabas
Boyd, who had hidden somewhere backstage, attacked Brad on his way to the ring by diving at the back of his leg.  This caught the attention of Bart, who attacked Boyd and ran him off before tending to his brother.  Brad needed to be helped to the ring by his brother, but refused to skip the match.  The Crusher worked over the leg and Brad fought valiantly against the 270 pounder, but in the end was defeated.  Barrabas was smiling as he called the Crusher off and they made their way out of the arena.

Mercenario 2 & Bobby Jaggers w/Chicky Starr vs. Dutch Mantell & Invader 1
Jaggers ambushes Dutch on the way to the ring.  The only participants not brawling near the entranceway are Merc 2 and Invader 1.  Invader 1 low blows Merc 2 after a match that sees Chicky Starr tilt the match in favor of Merc 2 several times.  After the last Invader makes his signature comeback, selling along the way.  He clamps on the sleeper and Chicky hits the ring.  Dutch had hit Jaggers with a set of brass knuckles and the sight of a bloodied Dutch Mantell approaching stopped Chicky from interfering.  Invader 1 gets the win by submission.

Mercenario 1 & Abdullah Tamba w/Chicky Starr vs. Jos LeDuc & Carlitos Colon
Wild beginning sees LeDuc charge at Tamba only for Merc 1 to hit him from behind.  Colon is quick to engage Merc 1 and the brawl is on.  Both Tamba and LeDuc are bloody again within minutes.  Referee Ricky Vargas regains control of the situation, but this ends up causing Colon to be the victim of a double team.  The heels work Colon over and Chicky taunts him from the outside.  Colon makes a short comeback only to have Tamba cut it off illegally.  And then again.  Finally Colon hits a low blow on Merc 1 and then another on Tamba to get the tag in.  LeDuc is absolutely unstoppable, tearing through Merc 1 and then turning his attention to Tamba.  Tamba falls victim to the one-armed backbreaker and Chicky is up on the apron.  Until Colon punches him right off.  LeDuc covers Tamba for the three.  The crowd is going wild as Merc 1 is checking on Chicky Starr and LeDuc and Colon celebrate.

The Caribbean Express vs. Los Primos Starr (C) for the WWC Caribbean Tag Team Championship
The Express is superbly smooth with their early teamwork and the Starrs can't compare.  First Ron, then Chicky, then both can't keep up and they take a time out.  They talk it over and Ron is back in the ring with Perez and he tries to give Chicky a shot at Perez's back.  to no avail, Chicky takes a series of punches and so does Ron.  It goes like this until los Mercenarios show up at ringside and distract the Express, allowing Chicky to hit a low blow on Perez.  The Starrs work Perez over and cut him off getting to his corner.  They rip the bandage from Monday's cut off and go to work on that.  Finally Castillo hits a low blow on Chicky and tags, but los Mercenarios hit the ring for the DQ.  It's looking grim for the Express when los Super Medicos come running out to ringside with baseball bats and all four heels retreat.  Chicky is furious, screaming at los Super Medicos as he heads for the back.

As far as the crowd throwing garbage, seemed like they enjoyed throwing shit at heels.  Chicky and Invader 3 have an awesome scaffold match, probably the best I have ever seen, during which the crowd is hitting Chicky with garbage while he's on the scaffold.  Also remember that Chicky was at ringside when Abby blinded Colon earlier this year and Colon still does not have the Universal title as a result.  Chicky's denials all had that "Colon had it coming" sound to them as well, so I can't imagine he's going to be overly popular right now.

Boyd and Crusher get the best of the Battens tonight. They win a battle but I think this war is far from over. Speaking of winning a battle, Dutch did that by knocking Jaggers out with brass knuckles. Chicky was smart not messing with Dutch. Colon and Leduc make a great team and looks like the fans would agree. I'm sure they loved seeing Colon knock Chicky off the apron. I enjoyed the main event as it showed the Caribbean Express can hang with the champs. I know I would be hightailing it if the Medicos were chasing me with bats. Once again, great job with your loops, I'm really enjoying them.

WWC House Show 8/17/86
Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium, Bayamon, Puerto Rico

Ricky Santana & Jos LeDuc vs. Owen Hart & Abdullah Tamba w/Chicky Starr
This actually started out as a wrestling match.  Between four guys in blood feuds who had bandages on their foreheads already.  This broke down at several points with all four men bleeding.  It always came back to the ring in time for referee Ricky Vargas to not quite call off the match.  In the end, Tamba hit his tope on LeDuc and Owen rolled Santana up with a handful of tights to score the win.  Santana sent Owen stumbling towards the back with a rush of punches and chops after Owen kept the attack up post-match.

Brad Batten vs. The Crusher w/Barrabas
The Crusher is on the attack before the bell and Brad is back on his heels for the first part of the match.  Batten makes a good comeback only to have Barrabas trip him up and put him back on the defensive.  Brad again fights back and makes it count with a reverse crossbody off the second rope for the three count.  Barrabas doesn't order any kind of attack, he just laughs and points at his own leg then Brad Batten before leading the Crusher out.

Bart Batten vs. Jonathan Boyd w/Barrabas
Bart is still limping from last night, but not as severely.  Boyd goes right after the leg and Bart is in big trouble.  Bart makes a big comeback near the end and Barrabas jumps on the apron, but Bart ignores Barrabas and rolls Boyd up.  Barrabas tries to get into the ring only to find that Brad never left and has been hiding under the ring.  Brad grabs Barrabas' legs and referee Tomas Marin counts three.  The Battens celebrate with the crowd after making sure there are no post-match attacks.

The Caribbean Express & Dutch Mantell vs. Los Mercenarios & Bobby Jaggers
Six man tag or pier six brawl?  Both here as there is no order to any of it.  Four of these men have bandages on their heads when the match starts and all 6 are bleeding by the end.  By the end I mean when security finally separates everyone and we can move on, as this is a double countout.

Hercules Ayala vs. Invader 1
The two men shake hands before the match and it is more even than you would think given the size difference.  Ayala tries to set Invader up for the figure four, but Invader knows the leg is the target.  Invader can't get the sleeper on Ayala and both men get frustrated and start brawling.  Ayala does work over the leg, but no figure four and Invader makes a comeback.  Ayala rolls Invader 1 up in an inside cradle for the win.  The men hug and raise each other's arms for the crowd after the match.

Los Super Medicos & Carlitos Colon vs. Victor the Bodyguard & Los Primos Starr
Medicos & Colon started off hot, with all three heels taking their turn getting beat up.  Colon is hit with a Victor low blow and the heels go to work on him.  The Starrs use distracions to keep referee Victor Quinonez away from their illegal double teams.  Colon tags in to Medico 3, who clears the ring.  The heels regroup and Chicky distracts Medico 3 (and Quinonez) while Starr hits him from behind.  The heels work Medico 3 over and Quinonez even misses a legal tag due to a distraction by Chicky Starr.  Medico 3 does tag in Medico 1, who really brings the fury on the Starrs.  Colon is after Victor, hitting him with a low blow before putting him in the figure four.  Medico 1 rolls Chicky up for the three count as the building erupts.

Hot tag match to open the show. Owen scores the pin in this one but the brawl continues. Brad falls to Crusher with some help from Barrabas. I liked Brad's payback on Barrabas in the next match and helps his brother get the win. This has been a fun feud. Wild 6 man tag that could only end in chaos. Ayala gets a nice win over Invader 1. Good sportsmanship afterwards. Another crazy main event and once again the fans leave happy as Chicky takes the fall.

Given my history with putting out so much of the WWC 1980's content that is out there on video, I obviously find WWC a pleasure to read. Especially with someone doing it justice like right here with dawho5. The roster is spot on for WWC, a good mix of local island talent and other talent that has history of ties to the territory. Of course you add a few additional names and it makes for a good concoction of fantasy story telling while staying true to the feel of the real life promotion.

Good to see Chicky Starr causing all kinds of trouble here. A must have for 1980's WWC fantasy writing IMO. Glad you have him in a prominent role. Great feel for the territory. Fun stuff.

WWC House Show 8/21/86
Culebra, Puerto Rico

The Batten Twins & Dutch Mantell vs. Jonathan Boyd, the Crusher & Bobby Jaggers w/Barrabas
Mantell and Jaggers are under control right away with Jaggers again avoiding Dutch.  Dutch even keeps his cool when Jaggers catches Bart with a knee to the back as he's running the ropes.  Just barely.  The resulting beatdown of Bart sees Dutch overheat a few times and cost his team opportunities to get a tag, one time distracting referee Tomas Marin from the actual tag.  Dutch does take the tag and heads straight for Jaggers, who gets the worst of one exchange and runs for it.  Meanwhile, Boyd and the Crusher double team Brad and then turn their attention to Bart.  Crusher holds Bart while Boyd hits the three point stance clothesline for the three.  Barrabas is jawing with the Battens and the fans on his way to the back.

Invader 2 vs. Mercenario 1
Merc 1 turns this into a brawl fast, but Invader 2 doesn't mind and answers with sharp right hands and big left hooks.  Merc 1 actually slows things down after a few high flying moves from Invader 2 and starts grinding him down.  Invader 2 makes a big comeback, cut off by clubbering and a few power moves by Merc 1.  A double throat chop out of nowhere catches Merc 1 and Invader 2 scores the win.

Victor the Bodyguard & Chicky Starr vs. Los Invaders (1 & 3)
Los Invaders work over both Victor and Chicky with smooth teamwork and babyface tag offense.  Invader 1 actually starts off the low blows in this match with a punt to the nuts on Chicky.  Which Chicky avenges to set up Victor and Chicky working Invader 1 over.  They make Invader 1 work for the tag and Invader 3 shows everyone why he is the NWA LHW champ when he takes that tag.  Chicky bails out of the ring after a particularly nasty series of punches by Invader 3, who then slams Victor down near the corner and hits the cannonball (top rope somersault senton) for the win.

Ricky Santana & Jos LeDuc vs. Owen Hart & Abdullah Tamba w/Chicky Starr
All-out brawl from before the bell and referee Ricky Vargas has no control over it.  The match itself goes about 7 minutes before Vargas throws it out.  Hart catches Santana with a brass knuckles shot and helps Tamba double team LeDuc while Santana lays on the ground bleeding.  Tamba ends up hitting Owen with the tope when LeDuc moves and the two big men brawl with security needed to break them up.  Both Hart and Santana need help getting to the back.

Miguel Perez vs. Hercules Ayala
Perez starts off hot and keeps Ayala on the defensive.  Ayala's slower paced offense eventually wins out and he wears Perez down with it.  Perez makes a comeback, but ayala goes to work on the leg and wins with the reverse figure four.  Ayala raises Perez's hand after the match is over.

Ron Starr w/Chicky Starr vs. Carlitos Colon
This was a back and forth match with Ron actually using legal wrestling holds to turn the tide and control the match.  About half of the time.  Colon eventually does the cartwheel and makes his big comeback to the figure four.  Chicky interferes, but Colon comes back again after a jumping splits and sends Chicky out of the ring after hitting the reverse low blow on Ron.  He rolls Ron up for three  and the Starrs retreat from the ring while Colon celebrates with the fans.  Chicky and Ron get more than a little garbage thrown their way

Your use of your roster is teaching me so much about who to keep a feud going.  One night we have a tag match then the next a 6 man tag match and then a singles match but not always between the main guys.  It is very realistic as many of the promotions before WWF vs WCW could not afford the rosters that we have right now in our game.  Also your description of Colon here has me going back to watch some of his matches.  From the cartwheels to the splits, I am very interested

Fun 6 man tag to open. Dutch just couldn't keep it under control as Boyd and Crusher get the fall, while Dutch is dealing with Jaggers. Invader 2 gets a nice win over Merc 1. Invaders look strong as they get a good win over Victor and Chicky. Loved the brawling tag match (If you can call it a match LOL). Cool visual of Tamba and Leduc brawling while Owen and Santana are helped out. Ayala has been on a great roll of late. He's beating baby faces but showing good sportsmanship. Colon sends the fans home happy once again while Ron and Chicky get another garbage shower.

Los Tejanos vs. The Batten Twins
The Battens control with smooth teamwork and babyface tag offense.  An armdrag by Bart cuts off a Tejano comeback and a double dropkick puts the Tejanos away.

Footage is shown of the battles between the Battens and Barrabas' crew.  Rickin and Hugo talk about how the Battens more than held their own.

(Commercial Break)

Barrabas was out at the desk complaining about the tactics used by the Battens.  Especially Brad hiding under the ring.  Rickin points out that Barrabas had his men intentionally injure Bart's leg, which Barrabas points out is good strategy.  Barrabas lays down a challenge to the Battens for a tag match on September 20th.  Rickin and Hugo talk about TNT's dangerous finishing hold, the cobra dinamita, and how it put Gama Singh out.

Domingo Robles vs. TNT w/El Profe

Sports Shop

The Sports Shop intro plays and we cut to Victor the Bodyguard and Abdullah Tamba on the Sports Shop set.  A voice-over by Hugo Savinovich plays.

Hugo: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen to the most watched wrestling program in Puerto Rico!!  This is Chicky's Sports Shop and I'm pleased to announce your host, the most charismatic, best dressed man in Puerto Rico today, Chicky Starr!!

Chicky walks in wearing his custom suit and his WWC Caribbean Tag Team Title over his shoulder.  He picks up a microphone and sits down.

Chicky: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another great week in Chicky's Sports Shop.  I say this because our guest this week is going to surprise and delight you!  But first we need to talk about last week.  The Caribbean Express showed why they are not really contenders for these (Chicky taps his Tag team title belt), and that should surprise no one.  I don't need to show footage of that, you already know.

Chicky pauses.

Chicky: Ricky Santana lost to Owen Hart, one-two-three right in the center of the ring.  Again, there is no need for proof.  We all know that Owen Hart is by far the superior wrestler and more deserving champion.  Jos LeDuc was humiliated all week by Abdullah Tamba.  Again.  Not only that, but Tamba also beat up Carlitos Colon!  This is something you will want to see!

A pieced together clip of Tamba beating up LeDuc and Colon is shown.

Chicky: (English) And as you know fans, last week's television main event was an incredible wrestling match between my cousin Ronnie and NWA National Champion Arthur W. Crews.  We saw great managing on both sides as well as great wrestling on both sides.  I have both the champion, Arthur W. Crews, and his manager Rock Riddle with me this week.

Riddle and Crews walk on to the set.  Crews shakes Chicky's hand and Riddle has an extra long handshake with Chicky.  The two talk without the microphone picking any of it up momentarily.  All three sit down.

Riddle: Chicky baby!  I love your show!  I knew you were an A-lister baby!

Chicky: Well, I can't say I thought much of you right away, but as the match went on I realized I couldn't do any more for Ronnie than you were for your man here.  We had to let them settle it in the ring.  Ronnie and I have a lot of respect for you Mr. Crews.

Crews: Thanks, your cousin gave me my toughest match yet.  I don't think either of us expected to find competition like the two of you.

Riddle: Couldn't have said it better myself.  And of course I get involved in the Agency's matches.  It's my job to make sure everyone watching knows Arthur J. Crews and the rest of the Agency are A-listers all the time baby.   If all I did was watch, I wouldn't be doing that.    Speaking of being an A-lister, that is a NICE suit.

Chicky: Ric Flair gave it to me.  He and I are close personal friends you know.

Riddle: That's incredible!  I've barely met the man, but here I am in Puerto Rico talking to a close personal friend of Ric Flair's.  How is it you manage to make those kind of connections from Puerto Rico?  Not saying it isn't nice here, Chicky baby, I'd rather be here than back in North Carolina right now.  But there's no way I have my Hollywood connections that way!

Chicky: You take advantage of your opportunities.  Something you seem to do very well, and I respect that.  How does a man with your obvious Hollywood connections end up all the way across the United States in the Carolinas?

Riddle: Well, I was scouting talent in the Carolinas and a few A-listers like my man Dr. Tom Prichard.  If he ever comes around this way, you should look him up.  He's not a jealous B-level player like everyone in Puerto Rico not associated with you.  And of course I found my Fabulous Blondes and the crown jewel of the Agency, Arthur W. Crews.  He's a true A-lister, you said it yourself Chicky baby.

Chicky: And I suppose they had to stay in the Carolinas.

Riddle: Chicky baby, you get it.  And that's not the only thing in the Agency's way.  Do you think they get fair title shots?  I mean when they get them at all.

Chicky: I know all about that.  My cousin and I had to scratch and claw our way to these titles and the WWC is always looking for ways to make sure we don't keep them.

Riddle: That's how B-level players even the playing field Chicky baby.  They try and cut the legs out from under you any way they can.  Only true A-listers like us can find ways to get past that and become big stars!

Chicky: Yes, and the fans treat us like we're not welcome for it.

Riddle: They don't even deserve to be called B-level players and we both know it.  End of the day we do what's best for business.  It's the only way to make sure you're an A-lister, baby.

Chicky: Agreed.  I thnk this is the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship.  (Spanish)  We're out of time fans and it's been a great two weeks.  All things come to an end though and next week I'll be talking to Ricky Santana.  Once again the WWC has threatened to take away the WWC Caribbean Tag Team belts.  When will they learn that is not necessary?  It hardly matters.  I'll suffer through that conversation next week just the same way you all suffer through the parts of the show that aren't the Sports Shop.

Chicky, Riddle and Crews walk off the set talking as Ric Flair's sign off plays.  Back in the arena Rickin is irritated and talks about Chicky Starr's complete avoidance of the truth.  Full clips are shown of LeDuc, Colon and Tamba's interactions over the last week.  Followed by clips of the Caribbean Express challenging los Primos Starr for the Caribbean Tag Team titles.  Rickin and Hugo talk about how the Express came close to winning despite anything Chicky might have said.

Los Assassins vs. The Caribbean Expresss
The Express use their smooth treamwork and quick tags to control the match.  Castillo cuts off a comeback with a clothesline and tags Perez.  Castillo sends Assassin 1 to the ropes and rolls out of the way as Perez catches Assassin 1 with a powerslam.  Castillo is tagged in quickly on his way up top and Perez hits a suplex while Castillo lands a crossbody from the top rope for three.

Rickin and Hugo talk up Castillo and Perez's teamwork and willingness to mix it up with los Mercenarios.  Footage ofthe brawls between the Express and the Mercs is shown.

(Commercial Break)

Footage is shown from around PR of Los Invaders and Los Primos Starr fighting.  Los Invaders are at the desk and they talk about los Super Medicos taking the tag titles from the Starrs on September 20th.  They say after that they want a piece of the Starrs, throwing out the challenge to the Starrs for tag team matches across Puerto Rico next week.  Invader 3 offers to give Chicky Starr a shot at the NWA LHW title if the Starrs can win two matches by pinfall or submission.

Armandito Salgado vs. Dutch Mantell
Mantell controls with a mix of brawling and technical wrestling.  He cuts off a Salgado comeback with a flurry of right hands.  A short lariat leads to the gourdbuster and that gets Dutch the three count.

Footage is shown of Dutch Mantell and Bobby Jaggers fighting all over Puerto Rico.  Rickin and Hugo talk about how bloody the feud has gotten and hype up the cage match on September 20th.  They also mention that the venue for September 20th in Ponce has been changed to  Estadio Paquito Montaner due to popular demand.  And that if enough interest is shown the show will be shown closed circuit in Mayaguez and San juan.

(Commercial Break)

Hercules Ayala is at the desk and he talks about this being his last attempt at beating Bam Bam Bigelow for the WWc Caribbean Heavyweight title.  He feels that if he can't do it this time Bigelow has proven to him that he is a true champion.  That doesn't mean Ayala isn't going to fight though, so Bigelow better be ready for the fight of his life.  Footage is shown of Owen Hart using the trunks to pin Ricky Santana, Santana using a flying attack with a cowboy boot to pin Hart and other clips of their fights across Puerto Rico.  Rickin and Hugo talk about how personal this feud has become.

Mr. X vs. Ricky Santana
Santana controls with babyface technical offense.  He cuts off an X comeback with a dropkick and climbs up top.  The flying crossbody gets Santana the three count.

Rickin and Hugo talk about how much Santana has developed in the last 9 months and the great potential he has.

(Commercial Break)

Rickin lets us know the Battens ahve accepted the challenge laid down by Barrabas.  Footage is shown of Colon's battles with Abdullah Tamba and the Starrs across Puerto Rico.  Much of it ending with a Colon figure four.  Some footage of the tag match featuring Abdullah the Butcher is included.  Colon is at the desk and talks about getting his Universal title back on September 20th.  He has taken his revenge on Abdullah the Butcher and now it's time to get back the symbol that means so much to the Puerto Rican people.  Rickin and Hugo talk about pride and revenge.  They talk about how those things can come before things like titles.  They then talk about the history between the combatants in tonight's main event.

Ron Starr & Abdullah Tamba w/Chicky Starr vs. Jos LeDuc & Hercules Ayala
LeDuc charges Tamba right away and the two big men go at it.  LeDuc gets the advantage until Tamba hits a flying headbutt after running the ropes.  Ron and Tamba work LeDuc over for a short while, but he tags Ayala in and Hercules starts in with the big punches.  Ron goes low on Ayala and he gets worked over for a bit before LeDuc has enough and hits the ring.   Referee Victor Quinonez can't stop him but allows the match to continue.  In the chaos, Tamba sneaks in a schoolboy with a handful of tights to get the three count.  LeDuc is even more angry and starts clubbing away at Tamba until he retreats to ringside with Chicky and Ron.  Chicky makes sure everyone in the building knows Tamba won the match as he is hit with garbage.

Rickin and Hugo sign off with a recap of the matches for September 20th.

Main Event: Abdullah the Butcher vs. Carlitos Colon for the vacant WWC Universal Heavyweight Title in a Fire Match

Los Super Medicos vs. Los Primos Starr (C) for the WWC Caribbean Tag Team Championships

Hercules Ayala vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (C) for the WWC Caribbean Heavyweight Championship

Ricky Santana vs. Owen Hart (C) for the WWC Light Heavyweight Championship in a Street Fight

Dirty Dutch Mantell vs. Hangman Bobby Jaggers in a Cage Match

Jos LeDuc vs. Abdullah Tamba

Of course my highlight was the Sports Shop. The charismatic visual of Chicky baby and Riddle is so awesome. Chicky is going to have to pay a visit to WTBS. Speaking of Chicky, if the Starrs can pull off a couple wins then he gets a pretty big opportunity at the LHW Title. I like how you incorporate your house shows on TV. I think the Sept 20th card will need close circuit as it's shaping up to be one historic event. Colon and Abby is going to be a war! Dutch and Jaggers is right up there. I wonder who's next for TNT? Good promo from Ayala, his match with Bigelow intrigues me. Battens, Caribbean Express and Santana get good TV wins. Fun tag team main event as Tamba scores the fall and really makes Chicky's day. Tamba and Leduc is another gem feud going.

WWC House Show 8/22/86
Edwin "Puroco" Nolasco Coliseum, Coamo, Puerto Rico

Miguel Perez & Dutch Mantell vs. Mercenario 2 & Bobby Jaggers
Referee Tomas Marin had his hands full.  This was called before the match reached 5 minutes in, but went almost 15.  Perez busted Merc 2 open on the ring post and Jaggers took the riding crop to Dutch early on.  A bloodied Dutch ended up catching Jaggers with a short lariat and repaying the riding crop attack (and blood).  The match did finally get broken up by security, but it took a few tries.

Ricky Santana vs. Jonathan Boyd w/Barrabas
Santana comes out hot with his babyface technical offense.  Boyd gets control after a Barrabas distraction.  Boyd's energetic brawling and working over the cut from the night before keep Santana off balance for a while, but he fires up and comes back with chops and punches.  Santana tries the flying crossbody, but Boyd rolls through and almost gets three.  Boyd hits a few power moves befoer Santana rolls him up for the three.  Barrabas orders Boyd to attack, but both Battens run out to make the save.  Santana and the Battens shake hands after the match.

Huracan Castillo Jr. vs. Owen Hart (C) w/Chicky Starr for the WWC Light Heavyweight Championship
Big opportunity for Castillo and he makes the most of it early.  Owen repeatedly tries to go to the eyes and can't seem to get a real advantage.  A surprise leverage move by Owen shoots Castillo through the middle and second rope.  Owen follows him out and makes sure he does enough damage to keep the advantage.  Castillo makes a comeback and goes up top for the missile dropkick, but Owen shakes the ropes enough to cause Castillo to fall very uncomfortably.  Owen hits a front suplex from the second turnbuckle for the three count.  The crowd lets Hart know what they think of him as he shows off his belt on the way back.

Victor the Bodyguard & Ron Starr w/Chicky Starr vs. Invader 2 & Carlitos Colon
Invader 2 and Colon take the opening, with Colon falling victim to Ron'e eye rakes and a Victor low blow to give the heels control ofthe match.  Colon makes the tag and Invader 2 is hitting big left hooks on both opponents.  Until he is distracted by Chicky and Ron comes from behind with a low blow.  The heels work Invader 2 over before he crawls between both of their legs for the tag.  Colon has the crowd eating out of his hand and chases Ron outside.  Chicky gets in the way and takes a right hand for his troubles.  Invader 2 ducks a clothesline by Victor and catches him with the double throat chop as he comes off the ropes for the three.  Chicky collects Victor as Ron and Colon brawl, Ron retreating to the back.  Invader 2 and Colon drink in the appreciation of the fans.

Mercenario 1 vs. Hercules Ayala
Mercenario wants to brawl, but Ayala is aveteran brawler and can hang with him.  He slows the pace down and goes to work on Merc 1's leg after getting control of the match.  Merc 1 continues to try and brawl with Ayala, but Hercules simply goes back to the leg over and over.  Merc 1 gets caught in the reverse figure four and tries to escape, but can't and referee Ricky Vargas calls for the bell.

Abdullah Tamba & Chicky Starr vs. Jos LeDuc & Invader 1
This one is a barely controlled brawl with eveyone bleeding by the end.  Chicky's baseball bat comes into play for both sides while the action spills out of the ring.  LeDuc is simply clubbing Tamba with forearms over and over in the corner until Chicky comes over with the bat and catches LeDuc in the back with it several times.  Tamba stumbles out of the corner and falls on LeDuc for the three count.  Chicky celebrates, or tries to, but Invader 1 isn't having it and chases him out of the ring so he can attend to LeDuc.  The fans pelt Chicky with garbage as he leads Tamba to the exit.

WWC House Show 8/23/86
Yauco, Puerto Rico

Bart Batten vs. Jonathan Boyd w/Barrabas
Batten took the brawl right to energetic brawler Boyd from the opening bell.  Boyd was caught slightly off-guard, but the match was pretty even.  Until Barrabas distracted Bart and Boyd went after the same leg that got injured last week.  Boyd worked on the leg with Bart fighting back as best he could.  Boyd did hit the three point clothesline for the three.  Barrabas ordered a further attack, which was thwarted by Brad Batten and Ricky Santana hitting the ring to run Boyd off.

The Caribbean Express & Ricky Santana vs. Owen Hart & Los Mercenarios w/Chicky Starr
Merc 2, Santana and Hart all came to the ring with bandages on their heads from earlier in the week.  All three had them forciibly ripped off.  Perez was bloodied as well in this match when Chicky hit him with the bat multiple times while Merc 1 distracted the referee.  He did fight his way to tagging Santana.  Both Santana and Castillo were in the ring clearing out the heels and Santana actually hit a plancha onto Chicky on the outside as he was yelling at referee Tomas Marin.  Perez came back with a vengeance, hitting right hands on Merc 2 before sending him off the ropes and hitting a powerslam.  Castillo followed that up with a missile dropkick for the three.  Hart attacked Santana after the plancha on Chicky, but Santana got hold of Chicky's baseball bat and ran both Hart and Chicky off.

Jos LeDuc & Dutch Mantell vs. Bobby Jaggers & Abdullah Tamba w/Chicky Starr
If you guessed this was a brawl, you are right.  But it did stay within the confines of a tag match.  Mantell and Jaggers were both busted open the night before and went right after the same spot on one antoher.  It didn't take long for both to bleed.  Starr caught LeDuc with a baseball bat to the back from the apron as he was running the ropes and the heels worked him over.  He made the tag to Dutch, but Chicky had Tamba well clear of the ring by the time a bloody Dutch Mantell hit the ring.  Once Jaggers realized this he stopped trying to fight back and made a run for the exit with Dutch right on his heels.

Invader 3 vs. Hercules Ayala
Invader 3 again showed why he was the NWA LHW champ, this time hanging with the 270 pound veteran Ayala all match.  Invader 3 showed his arsenal of high flying moves, strikes and submissions, using everything he could use on a bigger man.  In the end he came up just short, but Ayala did not win with the reverse figure four.  He won with an inside cradle after Invader 3 blocked a suplex attempt.  The two men shook hands and Ayala raised Invader 3's arm after the match.

Victor the Bodyguard & Los Primos Starr vs. Los Super Medicos & Carlitos Colon
Medicos were after Chicky Starr before the bell and it was a team effort to work him over.  Medico 3 fell victim to a Chicky low blow and the heels worked him over for a while.  He tagged in Medico 1, who did a great job of cleaning house.  He didn't account for Chicky being up as quickly as he was and grabbing his foot from the outside, which led to Ron hitting him with a brainbuster DDT.  Both Colon and Medico 3 hit the ring and a mini-brawl ensued.  When it was cleared up the heels were really working on Medico 1 and getting some close near-falls.  He managed to tag Colon, who blew the roof off the building by taking on all 3 opponents and getting the figure four on Ron.  Los Super Medicos hit the ring to protect Colon while he applied the submission.  Referee Victor Quinonez called for the bell as Ron screamed in pain.  Chicky checked on Ron after the match and screamed at the Medicos and Colon from the ring.  Los Super Medicos and Colon celebrated with the fans on the way to the exit.

Back to back cards...Nice!

8-22- Hot brawling tag to open the show. Santana will a nice win over Boyd. Looks like Santana made some new friends with the Battens. Owen retains in a hard fought bout with Castillo. Colon continues to get the best of Starr Corporation in tag matches. Ayala racks up another win. Fun main event as the bat really came into play.

8-23- Boyd rebounds with a win tonight but doesn't get to continue his assault. Action packed 6 man tag. I can just imagine how many bandages are kept in the locker rooms. The Owen/Santana feud keeps adding fuel to the fire. Another wild brawling tag match but what would you expect with those 2 feuds going on. I don't know if even a cage can contain Jaggers and Dutch. Every since that taped series with Ron Starr, Ayala has been unbeatable. With his upcoming title bout with Bigelow, now is the perfect time to be on a hot streak. Great 6 man main event as Colon once again stands tall. This has got to be infuriating for Chicky.

WWC House Show 8/24/86
Arecibo, Puerto Rico

Ricky Santana & the Batten Twins vs. Owen Hart, Jonathan Boyd & the Crusher w/Barrabas
Hart was in full on avoidance mode with Santana early.  He would not get in the ring with him, but tried several times to ambush Santana unsuccessfully.  Boyd got worked over by the Battens and Santana, then Owen caught Bart in the injured leg with a few kicks to turn things around.  The heels worked over Bart's leg for some time.  Bart did manage to just crawl to the corner after avoiding a few leg drops by the Crusher.  Brad took the tag and cleaned house on Boyd and the Crusher.  Santana clocked Owen Hart with a set of brass knuckles right in front of referee Tomas Marin and got his team DQed.  Despite this, Boyd and the Crusher ran to the back with their tails between their legs followed closely by Brad and Santana.  Brad and Santana returned to ringside to help Bart to the back, limping a little more than last week, while Owen had to wait for Chicky Starr and Abdullah Tamba to come collect him.

Miguelito Perez & Super Medico 3 vs. Los Mercenarios
Perez and Merc 2, still sporting bandages on their heads, both had easy targets for their opponents to exploit.  And both teams did just that.  Perez and Medico 3 went right after Merc 2's cut while referee Ricky Vargas herded Merc 1 into the corner.  Merc 1 eventually got his partner out of there by grabbing Perez while he was running the ropes and giving Merc 2 the opportunity to do some clubbering.  Both Mercs worked over Perez's cut for a while.  Perez tagged to Medico 3 who cleaned house on the Mercs, who stalled for time.  This just gave Perez time to recover and he came flying off the apron with an axe handle to knock Merc 1 into the railing.  Things broke down from here and referee Vargas called for a DCO.  The teams brawled to the back.

Victor the Bodyguard & Chicky Starr vs. Invader 1 & Hercules Ayala
Neither Ayala or Invader 1 were in the mood for Chicky's shenanigans and they dominated the opening third of the bout.  Victor distracted Invader 1 while Chicky hit him low to turn the tide.  Invader 1 was worked over for a long time with more than a few cutoffs by Chicky, only to finally tag Hercules.  Ayala never moves too fast, but his big punches got the crowd rocking as he sent Victor and Chicky to the mat.  He started working over Victor's leg and got the reverse figure four, but Chicky hit Ayala with the baseball bat and referee Victor Quinonez called for the DQ.  Invader 1 ran Chicky and Victor off before tending to Ayala.

Huracan Castillo Jr. vs. Super Medico 1
Medico was the first to have a real advantage, working over Castillo's arm.  Castillo worked a headlock to control the more experienced Medico 1.  The pace got quicker after a few rope running sequences with Medico 1 catching Castillo with his signature punch combo to take control and get a few nearfalls.  Castillo came back and had some good chances on roll-ups before Medico reversed a roll-up for the 3 count. The two men shook hands and Medico raised Castillo's arm after the match.

Ron Starr & Abdullah Tamba w/Chicky Starr vs. Jos LeDuc & Carlitos Colon
Chicky tried getting involved right away, jumping up on the apron with a house mic and taunting LeDuc and Colon.  This didn't get him anywhere as they just went after Ron and Tamba.  After a short opening Tamba used his strength to overpower Colon before hitting a dropkick that sent Colon outside.  LeDuc hit the ring, but Ron joined in and helped double team LeDuc as Chicky stomped away at Colon on the floor.  Colon eventually fought Chicky off, which eased the pressure on LeDuc.  LeDuc made a comeback on Tamba, even fighting off Ron long enough for Colon to take over.  Tamba fell victim to a LeDuc one armed backbreaker for the three count.  LeDuc made sure Chicky knew he had just beaten Tamba cleanly in the center of the ring as the heels retreated.
