But the bigger thought was, what can we do for the fans in this business that we love where WrestleMania isn't the end of something, it's actually the beginning of something bigger? So we got really really close but we couldn't actually nail what that thing was. So we decided to put our pencils down and then we agreed, hey, listen, there's a merger coming up. Eventually that will happen. There's WrestleMania in Philadelphia...that's a potential too, so I'm open." That does sound a lot like Rock was angling to come back as a major on-screen character but his ideas didn't gel with what WWE wanted to do with the storyline. Hope they can eventually resolve things as there's still a lot more potential there than just showing up for 1 big match and retiring. So, I have zero doubt Rocky could smile and promo his way into get the votes of some people. That is happened before (and might happen again in a year) doesn't make it less sad. Embrodak
The Rock becoming the guy who gets to push the “crimes against humanity” button absolutely feels like the reality we’re living in. There was a period where Zuckerberg was feeling out a presidential run, and his posts around that time felt like the robot versions of the “inspirational” stuff Rock is always posting on his Instagram. If that is in the cards, I genuinely hope Vince McMahon dies the day before he’s elected. That senile predator does not deserve the satisfaction of seeing something he made ascend to that level. JRH
Something tells me that a President Dwayne Johnson will be a "figurehead" President, who's the face of the Presidency, but the cabinet and the Vice President will do all the "real" work (of course, I thought the same thing about Trump, and that didnt happen). Jmare007
Rock did say on Joe Rogan's podcast last week that a party approached him for a presidential run but he declined. Only saw the clip were he discusses that topic but from the feedback I read, it seems Rocky mastered the art of talking for hours and not say much of anything

He's previously claimed to consider a UFC run in 2007.

He was also Governor of California for 8 years so he had some practical experience especially in a large populated state. It would have been more like if Ventura ran successful since he had been a governor prior. Johnson if he was serious would be better off taking an elect position at the state or national level first. That was pre-Trump, when political consultants thought the public wanted some level of seriousness in their candidates.
