WingedEagle
Apparently I'm the only one who really enjoyed the women's Wargames. it was a ton of fun with big bumps and never felt remotely slow. Leagues ahead of the men through 4 entrances which I didn't anticipate but these guys are clearly going long and presumably building to a big angle at the end. Blehschmidt
Jeebus. If Fatu's leg is actually messed up, he is one tough son of a bitch.
The Thread Killer
That Bronson Reed splash off the top of the cage through the table was crazy too.
sek69
According to Fightful, Jacob wasn't hurt he just decided to call an audible after missing the moonsault and decided to sell it like a legit injury. However Bronson Reed hurt one or possibly both of his ankles and Jimmy Uso broke his toe from them doing dives off the top of the cage. Maybe after that (plus Cody and Edge getting hurt doing it in AEW) we should just not do the dive off the cage spot. Like they used to joke that Arn Anderson was born looking 40 years old. Which is funny, because my only interactions with him were when he was 15-16 years-old and was posting on a German message board (and he was like "I am the son of Axel Dieter and I am going to become a wrestler" and I was like "sure, you are"), so for me he always will be a kid. Because much like people stopping to get a weapon on their way into the cage and wasting 90 seconds of the time period, the dive off the cage is an intricate part of the WWE War Games match and must be repeated every year. Hell, it's the whole reason they took the roof off the cage. El-P
WWE may be as hot as ever, at least in term of money-making deals and big shows, but man, reading about it, there's literally *nothing* that would make me want to watch any of it. I have no idea how people aren't bored shitless by the entire Bloodline stuff by now. And Heyman is here talking about how it could go on for years to come. The fact the angle is quite literally based on crass IRL nepotism (I mean, Jacob Fatu would have spent three years in NXT before being brought up to the main roster if he wasn't part of the family, let's be real about it, and that has nothing to do with whatever talent he has) makes it even more hilarious. Like, Tonga Loa is involved in the main event of Survivor Series against Roman Reigns and CM Punk. TONGA LOA.

To me, it was a tale of two matches. First half was not very good at all. Nia, who I'm often higher on than most and have been for years, just looked awful out there. Not sure if it was just the environment, the pressure, or what, but there were multiple sequences that looked like they were happening in slow-mo or were painfully telegraphed. At a certain point, I think they just needed to take the camera off whatever she was doing. But then the match steadily got better and better until it was a total blast. These matches have become formulaic and built around overly choreographed spots, but the sequence where all the women hit a signature move in rapid succession was really well done. Plus, as others have noted, the match was all about Rhea and Liv and both were spotlighted well. To be honest, I know it was probably either a hollow bat or a plastic one, but the baseball bat shots from Liv looked great to my eyes. I also liked the Tiffany cash-in tease as I'm not sure we've seen that before in the middle of a War Games or even a standard Survivors match. The Men's match started slow and then just kinda stayed at that pace. Once again, Jacob Fatu was the New Bloodline's MVP but that was to be expected when it is so painfully clear that nobody else in the stable has a fraction of his charisma or athleticism. The Tonga guys are mediocre at best and Solo is good-not-great from what I've seen. Meanwhile, I'll continue to say that Jimmy and Jey have an unfortunate habit of shrinking in the spotlight a bit as singles too and the Men's Match didn't pick up till Sami came in. As for Ludwig Kaiser, I guess I'm in the minority here too. I think he's great. Loved everything he did in that match and didn't find his presence to be superfluous at all. If anything, I thought he was - from a character perspective - holding the whole thing together for its first 2/3rds. Bron is somewhat of a "tweener" in that his mannerisms and attitude all say heel, but then the fans are cheering for the guy anyway. Sheamus is a beloved babyface at this point. Kaiser was the guy they could both beat up, but who also could play the spoiler as needed (and I thought he did an awesome job in that role). I also loved the psychology behind his immediate attempt to use a chair - I mean, it is 100% legal so why wouldn't he against two monsters? - and how it became the "Chekhov's Gun" element of the match. I thought, beginning to end, that was the clear match of the night and maybe even a sneaky Top 10 Match of the Year for WWE. More than any other match, it was the one where I said, "Now I want to see Kaiser vs. Bron and Kaiser vs. Sheamus and Sheamus vs. Bron."
