I take comfort in the fact that if I chose to boycott every sport and form of entertainment that is run by and participated in by people of low morals and bad character and behaviour…the only thing I could probably watch with a clear conscience would be a fishing or cooking show or something. People suck, and celebrities and athletes seem to suck even more than most.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?

Even though he generally has his head up his own butt, even Tony Khan has to realize that Mauro Ranallo is an incredibly divisive figure. I know you love him, but you have to admit that there is a very vocal subset of fans who dislike him with an equal amount of passion. I can tell you that if he showed up as the announcer on Collision I would not watch it anymore. I literally can’t stand the sound of his voice and I am hardly the only person who feels that way. Tony Khan caters to the hardcore fan, and he understands that there is a significant number of hardcore fans who just don’t like Mauro Ranallo. -
According to Konnan, the heat between Santana and Ortiz came from the fact that Santana was upset they weren’t being used in AEW at all (they basically spent an entire year standing behind Chris Jericho, and did not wrestle on TV once in a straight up Tag Team match.) Santana wanted to either start working indies as a team or ask for their release and try and get on somewhere else, but Ortiz was content to sit on his butt and collect a paycheck. It’s pretty sad because they were a great team, and I think they are definitely an example of the sum being greater than the individual parts. I don’t know how marketable they are as singles guys. It’s a shame they couldn’t work this out.

The Packers were SO CLOSE too. What a heartbreaker. And I agree. As a middle aged man I shouldn’t even know who Taylor Swift is. Get her off my TV.

If it ends up being KC vs. San Fran in the Super Bowl, I may openly weep. Next to the damn Cowboys, they are literally my two least favourite teams in the entire league.

True, but on the other hand they have finally figured out how to use Nakamura properly and are making him intriguing. I would argue that the promos and vignettes he has done during this latest heel turn have been by far the best work he has done since he came to WWE. For once he actually seems motivated. I really don’t think the timing of that is a coincidence. I think he figured out early on that Vince McMahon did not know how to use him, so he just decided to sit back and collect a paycheck. Now they are actually giving him the ball a bit more. But after back to back losses in big feuds, first, with Rollins now with Rhodes, they do need to give him some big wins if he is to be taken seriously.

The important thing we need to focus on is the Eagles beating the Bucs tonight. Oh, and condolences to Good Bubba @sek69 with the Steelers going down to Buffalo in the Snowbowl.

Let’s not forget that one of the main reasons Reigns works a limited schedule is due to his health and medical history. The guy has beaten Leukemia twice. He had to stay home during the pandemic due to his history. He’s always going to run the risk of being immunocompromised. This is not a guy you want to run into the ground with a heavy schedule. It makes perfect use to use him sparingly.

The show just got picked up for a fifth season. As many have asked, I wonder if Jericho will narrate the inevitable episode they do about him?

There were two on the last PPV and two tonight, and there have been plenty of others. Especially on Rampage. One in particular that I remember being particularly stupid was when he teamed FTR up with The Young Bucks against Bullet Club Gold. -

Also considering how much he manages to get his roided up ass on TV, Brian Cage must have compromising photos of TK or something. -

Find someone in life who loves you as much as Tony Khan loves booking pointless 8 Man Tag Team Matches. -

She’s a real class act, taking shots at the guy on Social Media by claiming she couldn’t talk to him because he has CTE. I can’t stand the guy, and I have little doubt that he probably does have CTE, but how about keeping your private life private, FFS? They have kids. There’s no need to put that kind of shit out there, that’s just a garbage thing to do. -
Well…at least it wasn’t Jungle Boy.

I liked the match, but the angle at the end came across as a weak WWE ripoff.
-
Holy crap. Copeland vs. Cage was pretty damn good, IMO.
-
That’s a nasty looking contusion over Copeland’s eye.

LOL at the fans booing Jericho. This could be a big problem for AEW if this story snowballs any further.
-
When is Tony Khan going to clue into the fact that the fans don’t want to boo Swerve?

If Jim Breaks killed his girlfriend after he had been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease, I really don’t think he can be held responsible. Verne Gagne killed another resident in his nursing home after he had been diagnosed, and nobody holds that against his legacy. I know Breaks was declared unfit to stand trial due to his condition and spent his final years in a confined hospital unit for dementia patients but I don’t know if he was suffering from the condition when the killing occurred. -

Give me a fucking break. Ridiculous decision. -
I agree. I don’t think Hangman Page has the promo chops to pull that off. Then again, he does come across as naturally unlikeable and kind of whiny. If they leaned into that they could really do something with it. Every time I think about his so-called “acting” abilities I am reminded of that ridiculous angle they did with him where he was constantly walking around with a glass of booze in his hand, crying.
