Why did he hate Junkyard Dog so much then?

And Natalya. Natalya? Isn't she sort of awesome? That might just be my Total Divas bias talking, though, as she's easily the most fun person on the show. No, she's terrible. People created this narrative that she was the best woman on the roster back when she was the only 2nd generation wrestler and everyone else was a "Diva" but even in the Kelly Kelly days I don't think she was anywhere close to the best and right now if she's not the worst she's bottom 3.

Me too. The immediate twitter reaction is "LOLTNA" despite the fact that everyone has been saying for years that they needed to rebrand. Global Force Wrestling is a better name than Total Nonstop Action or just Impact Wrestling and it's better than a completely new name because GFW already has everything trademarked and ready to go.

I've been working on putting my USWA Texas stuff on youtube and when I saw this match I *HAD* to stop and watch it and oh man it's SOOO good. Maybe the best "bullshit" match ever and I fucking love me some good bullshit matches.

I created a second youtube account to upload USWA Texas to because I know WWE owns that and I wanted to keep it separate from my other channel so if WWE comes down on me at least all the Southeastern/Continental stuff I uploaded won't disappear. Still a ton of work left to do to get everything I've got onto youtube but here is the channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_OknTVVX8tMnAwjEwtnxKA

Agreed, I fucking love Fuller & Golden using that song and they kept that all the way until they left in 1988. We're missing so much of that Nightmares/Riches feud too, the recaps show so much stuff they did on TV that I don't have. And if you like Nightmares as unmasked heels just wait until you get to the fall of 86 and see them return to the promotion as babyfaces.

Yes. This is the correct take.

There's a difference between working regular comedy spots and doing an invisible grenade spot. The comedy spots Cornette did that were described here aren't of the "This is all obvious make believe" variety like the stupid Chuck Taylor thing.

Hogan would be have been right to refuse if this story is true, which I doubt it is, because bringing Dustin into WWF in 1993 and working an angle of "Dusty's son vs Hulk Hogan" would have been a huge flop. That would have only had legs in WCW after Hogan turned and was Hollywood but by then they were both in different companies.

Irrational pet peeves displayed by carny wrestlers

Well you know except the guy who said it really isn't in the business and is just some 18 year old jackass in training who thinks he's playing a heel and getting heat on twitter. He had CZW plastered all over his twitter page and was talking about how barbed wire and light tubes are REAL wrestling and the fucking owner of CZW came out and said that the guy has never been associated with them in any way. -
Well god forbid they stop giving Dolph Ziggler tons of TV time every week to make time for anyone else. I don't know who on Smackdown has such a giant hard on for Dolph but they need to get the fuck over it or just quit the company already and take Dolph with them.

Irrational pet peeves displayed by carny wrestlers

While true, the insecure nature of most wrestlers tends to cause it to be worse in their field. Hell, Roman just went on a mini Twitter meltdown over an indy wrestler who didn't share the idea that going to WWE is the end all be all for everyone in the business. #DumbAssMark is a hell of a hash tag for your supposed top babyface to try to get trending. I like #DumbAssMark and think that hashtag is applicable for someone who calls a one tweet response a "mini meltdown" or someone who still looks at the way they've been presenting Roman this year and thinking he's still supposed to be some kind of goody two shoes white meat babyface. I fully support MORE wrestlers on twitter calling marks what they are because there are a whole lot of them out there. -
The spot in that match where Candi Devine kissed Adrian Street was pretty brilliant for how it completely turned the old "babyface kisses heel valet" type spot on it's head.
-
What is ACTUALLY scary about Bray Wyatt though? His stock "spooky" spot is to do a fucking bridge and look at you upside down OH NOES~! Someone who is basically untouchable like Roman or Seth need to kill that god awful spot forever by just booting him right in his face the next time he does it.
-
So he's pretty much just turned his entire star rating system into a joke and he himself is now a parody?
-
I wish more modern wrestlers would watch Robert Fuller from that time period because I feel like he's the blueprint for how to be an effective heel.

If you don't have Amazon Prime I have 47 episodes of 1991 USWA on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB8FXHmaF-0pRTKgzOZY9Q0O-19ltvLAc

I have impartial episodes that don't show the match but they talked about it on the Exile series on Continental and the best part about the whole "one of the Nightmares have to wear the Chicken Suit to get a title match" thing is Tommy & Johnny and the crowd all laughing and then The Nightmares jumping them, kicking the shit out of them and winning the titles back all while one of them is still in the chicken suit.
-
That was definitely a highlight but that whole episode was great. It's crazy that they had that Losers Gets 20 Lashes: The Nightmares vs The Rich Cousins match and a Loser Leaves Town match between Roy Lee Welch and Bill Ash on the same show.

If they bring Charlotte in immediately as a heel and she feuds with Naomi, she wins the title and feuds with Becky and then...? What exactly do you do once those 2 feuds are done? Smackdown has 3 women on the active roster who are good, Carmella who is a good character but not very good in the ring, and two people who are pretty much useless in Tamina and Natalya. I have absolutely no issue with the way they've booked the Smackdown women's division since the Shakeup because they are working around the limitations. When it comes to singles feuds there is only really enough talent in the Smackdown women's division right now to do one good feud at a time. This at least holds off the inevitable dominant Charlotte heel run until they can hopefully get someone up from NXT to bolster the division or get closer to the next roster shuffling.

Not necessarily? Ambrose --> Styles --> Cena --> Wyatt --> Orton --> Mahal This is not necessarily a logical progression. The only person who really should have never touched the belt is Wyatt. Another great argument against Wyatt.

Yes. You can sign up for $5.99 a month. If you had done a year subscription though I would imagine it's still going to be good until however long that would run & thus you don't need to immediately sign up for a monthly sub. It just means when the yearly runs out you won't get charged however much that was for another year & your sub will expire.
-
They may have cancelled subscriptions because they lowered the price. It's gone down from $8.99 to $5.99. I also don't see an option for yearly anymore.
