  1. Charlie Cook is one of those guys I really wish there was more footage of. I've seen that football helmet match with Duggan, some Florida stuff and some Southeastern TV matches and he always looks good and surprisingly agile for a guy his size. I put a match from Southeastern on youtube between Cook & Saito that I liked a lot.
  2. I don't have an issue with something like the Modern WWE folder being out on it's own because the Pro Wrestling main folder can get pretty cluttered now as it is with topics dying quick deaths because they just kind of get lost in the shuffle. If you had like 4-5 active WWE topics mixed in it would just make that even more of an issue. If anything, the ROH thread is getting the shaft because it's just floating out there in the megathread folder. And the only active TNA thread is the "Is TNA the worst promotion ever?" thread which doesn't exactly promote discussion if something good is happening in current TNA.
  3. The guy who voted Inoki #1 did. Likely he was the only one but there was at least one ballot that seemed to pretty much be solely based on Japanese wrestling.
  4. Eh he doesn't really count as he wasn't a full time wrestler for a long period of time like some of the stinkier names dropped in here like Tiger Ali Singh and Jeff Gaylord. Did he even have any other matches besides the Baba match?
  5. I would like Ambrose a lot better if he would just go full bore into being a comedy wrestler. He already has totally laughable offense.
  6. It would be better if we weren't celebrating WRESTLING which is objectively bad. Truly. How could anyone enjoy something that celebrates violence as the only solution to problems?
  7. Funk was way more versatile and managed to keep changing to keep himself relevant in lots of different places in lots of different eras. I don't see any way Flair could have gone to ECW and had the same kind of run that Funk managed to have there. Flair didn't even do that great of a job at adapting to WWF in his first run and that didn't require nearly as much of a change.
  8. Funk
  9. I feel like my eyes are about to roll out of my head every time I see someone call Dolph a "great seller" like WHAT? He takes goofy ass cartoon bumps and then his "selling" is laying there like he's dead until it's time for him to comeback at which point he just pops back up looking completely fresh. The only good selling performance I've ever seen from him is that double turn match with Del Rio.

    Mistico

So can someone tell me if his rudo turn was a result of the crowd starting to turn on him and CMLL deciding to just go ahead and run with it? I just watched a 2009 Mistico vs. Liger match where there is definitely a split crowd with a significant portion of the crowd booing Mistico which is a very different dynamic from the 2005 match I watched a few weeks ago against Perro Jr. where the crowd was solidly in Mistico's corner.
  11. Edge and Dolph Ziggler.
  12. To me for guys we actually have footage of it's really a toss up between Mighty Zulu and Jeff Gaylord.
  13. He seemed like he was actually getting heel reactions during that time period (although it's Smackdown so who can say for sure) and the crowd didn't really start cheering for him until the loss to Sheamus at WrestleMania.
  14. Yea his heel run in WWE was awesome. My favorite moment from that run is the lumberjack match he had with Mark Henry on Smackdown where Bryan just starts kicking all the lumberjacks from inside the ring until they get tired of his shit and rush the ring to get him which causes the match to get thrown out and while all the lumberjacks wind up in the ring fighting each other he just slinks off with the World Title.
  15. I liked him as Malice.
  16. So many didn't vote lucha, you not voting Japan I have no issue with. This is also how I justified to myself turning in a ballot that was pretty much just Fujinami and Onita for Japanese wrestlers.
  17. Yea like Matt said the only way to have a long discussion is if people are going to counter the praise. There wasn't nearly the amount of push-back against Bock, Rose, Lawler etc. like there was Flair and thus their threads weren't nearly as long. After I've laid down "this is why I think Lawler is #1" and no one really challenges it, what else is there for me to say on the matter?
  18. Shouldn't make the top 10 because he just wasn't that good. If only he'd done more flips and head drops. This sounds like the Wrestling Classics guys who hated Rey because he did lots of flippy floppy stuff. That's not me though because I had Rey in my top 10 and also had Matt Sydal on my list.
  19. Yea I think that's just him finding police officers who were fans and wanted to help him out. The photos don't really go along with the "he wasn't drunk" revision to the story.
  20. Same. I think I had the other 7 remaining guys all in my top 10 too. Fujinami, Bock & Casas are the 3 guys from my top 10 who've dropped already.
  21. Grimmas just spoiled the order. Glad that Lawler will rank ahead of Misawa.
  22. I had Fujinami in my own top 10, I'd have rather seen more All Japan dudes fall.
  23. Shouldn't make the top 10 because he just wasn't that good. If only he'd done more flips and head drops.
  24. Lawler will be at #11 because he never worked All Japan.
  25. I'm glad to know I contributed to getting him on at least one ballot then.
