  1. I could be wrong but I think the story of Warrior's initial debut on Nitro was that it popped a huge quarter hour but the numbers were actually dropping throughout the segment as he just kept going on and on.
  2. I can see why Ryback is frustrated if his money is going down year by year. They brought him in and gave him a big push and then totally cut him off at the knees in that match with Punk when he could have been a big star for them. And now years later he's pretty much just another face on the roster despite being a much better overall talent than he was when they gave him the big push. But his "solution" of equal pay isn't really a solution to that problem at all. The real solution would be to hire competent people for the creative team who would have known that they shouldn't have done given Ryback that title match at Hell in a Cell 2012 if they weren't going to put the title on him.
  3. Just a thought but leaving the titles that way seems to make it easier for them to get taken down. There are a lot of All Japan matches with English titles that have been up a long time without seeming to draw attention especially on ClassicPuro83's channel.
  4. I said on twitter that Zeb got released so he could be Trump's running mate and the man himself liked it so I feel like it's a pretty sure thing. Surely this is the biggest news ever broken on PWO.

    NXT talk

Naw they're complaining that Nak isn't already on the main roster beating Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in handicap matches.
  6. I guess there were two reasons for Zack's win at Mania: (1) to open the show with a huge surprise and (2) so that the non-wrestlers could get their WM bonuses betting on Ryder. Yea I said this right after Mania and not at all in a joking way. He was like dead last in the odds until the day before when he suddenly became the favorite which to me says everyone who was in the know put money on him. Which is why betting on wrestling should be illegal IMO. You probably have a locker room full of Pete Roses. Shit, I don't blame them. It's free money if you're in the know.

  8. I've been on the Reigns bandwagon from the start and frequently mocked people who were saying guys like Dean Amborse or Dolph Ziggler are better in the ring.
  9. I don't know, NXT TV to me is really lacking in good promos. I am sure people will bring the pitchforks out for that but I think if you were to put together a compilation of the best promos from NXT it wouldn't be very long.
  10. Hiroyoshi Tenzan does that move all the time. Akiyama does a variation of it as well. Maybe some other japanese wrestlers I'm forgetting do it too. What kind of post-modern shit is that when Japanese wrestlers steal moves from the Americans? That's not how it's supposed to work.
  11. Cattle Branding. There were a few wrestlers who used to do it but Dick Murdoch is the guy I saw do it the most. Someone should have stolen that and used it in the 2000s while everyone else was busy stealing moves from Japanese wrestlers.
  12. The Lucha Underground cut off seems a bit silly because it's not like you can go back and retroactively get them into the discussion for best of 2015.
  13. I don't think the way to go to be an alternative to WWE these days is to try to be a "workrate alternative" at all because that's not their weak point. Their weak point is having interesting characters and engaging storylines. If anything WWE has too much wrestling and not enough character development.

    Robert Fuller

The difference is that we have lots of long main event matches with Bock from arenas that we don't have with Robert Fuller. The vast majority of what's out there for Robert is shorter TV matches. If we had arena footage from Southeastern I think it would be a huge boost to Robert and a lot of other guys like Jerry Stubbs, Bob Armstrong, Jimmy Golden, The Nightmares etc etc. but the best thing we have is the 85-86 Continental TV when they were putting a lot of good matches on TV. Another thing about Robert that limits the amount of footage he has is that he would take a lot of time off. From shoot interviews of his it seems like he and Ron would take turns booking and if it wasn't his turn then he would just take time off to drink beer and work on his tan.
  15. Ambrose has issues beyond his booking that are totally on him. I don't feel like him having a goofy character is all that bad considering the way he wrestles. He might as well just go all the way and be the new Santino comedy wrestler as laughable as his offense is.
  16. Where are you going? If you want bitching, fantasy booking and crazed overreaction you can ALWAYS rely on wrestlingforum.com
  17. I see this frequently used as a criticism of Reigns yet how is not applicable to like 90% of the roster? Especially when people bash Reigns with that criticism and then go "and that's why Ambrose should be pushed over him" when Dean's offense is also really limited and none of it looks good. Using the "limited moveset" criticism against anyone in WWE feels like an "I already decided not to like him so now let me work backwards to justify it" type of thing. That's how WWE style works, they have guys stick to a few big moves.
  18. But you swear you're not a heel? SMH

    WWE Payback

vs. Bryan at FastLane 2015 vs. Brock at Mania 31 vs. Big Show at Extreme Rules 2015 vs. Sheamus TLC 2015 vs. Sheamus on whatever Raw he won the title
  20. The short answer is that Buddy represents something different than Flair. I'll try to write the long answer tomorrow. Very valid issue though. Matt has seen a lot more Buddy than me but I think the key difference between Flair & Buddy is that Flair is everything he says he is, he's got the robes and the suits and the Rolex to back up everything he is saying. When he was the traveling World Champ he might cheat but he was still relying on himself. With Buddy he's kind of a fraud. He's good but not as good as he says he is. It's why he frequently has some kind of stable or lackey around him. He's a pasty fat guy calling himself a "Playboy" when he is really anything but.
  21. I meant Tiger Jeet Singh but I doubt his son was any good either.
  22. You say this now because the "correct" #1 was found to be Ric Flair but you were hand wringing for months on here and twitter about how people weren't taking it "seriously" enough and were worried people were trying to be trendy or "cute" with certain picks. I feel like this comment is pretty disingenuous. It isn't disingenuous at all. I argued at the start of the process for standards, and for a smaller number of ballots of guys who would take it seriously, everyone called me an asshole. After that I got on board with the idea of it being more all-inclusive, and made peace with it. I said then, "these results probably won't mean that much, it is what it is". But I got on board with it and strongly encouraged everyone to vote. What I don't like is people being encouraged to vote and then getting told off. The Taker stuff also was so clearly just a joke, that being brought out as some strike against me after some of the shit that went down is pretty laughable. I should also mention that I take the post from goc as a real personal insult and slight, but then I've come to except personal attacks from him, so there it is. It was not a personal attack it was simply pointing out that what OJ was saying was not at really at all different from the stuff you said throughout the process including just a few weeks ago on twitter when i was arguing with you about it. I don't even know where the "I've come to expect personal attacks from him" thing comes from except you being overly sensitive when I joked about you being the #1 heel on PWO.

    WWE Payback

Except he's already pulled his weight in main event matches numerous times. But I realize a lot of people are married to the "hurr Roman sucks!" narrative despite all evidence to the contrary.
  25. This is a good pick because the little I have seen of him has not been good. He was all over the show too, even when he wasn't wrestling he would pop in to do guest commentary and he wasn't good at that either. And pretty much every time another wrestler has talked about him in an interview it was negatively.
