  1. Throughout this project I had an idea in the back of my head of an era adjustment. I don’t think I’ll ever flesh that out but I did make a list of the top fishers by birth year. 1894 Jim Londos 1898 Gus Sonnenberg 1915 Les Kellett 1916 Lou Thesz 1918 Freddie Blassie 1919 Al Costello 1920 Mick McManus 1921 Buddy Rogers 1922 Blue Demon (?) 1923 1924 Rikidozan 1925 1926 Verne Gagne 1927 Tibor Szakacs 1928 Johnny Valentine 1929 Fritz Von Erich 1930 The Destroyer 1931 Don Leo Jonathan 1932 Dominic DeNucci 1933 Gypsy Joe 1934 Nick Bockwinkel 1935 Bruno Sammartino 1936 1937 Stan Stasiak 1938 Giant Baba 1939 Bob Armstrong 1940 Jim Breaks 1941 Abdullah the Butcher 1942 Mil Mascaras 1943 Antonio Inoki 1944 Terry Funk 1945 Dusty Rhodes 1946 Andre the Giant 1947 Jose Gonzalez 1948 Carlos Colon 1949 Ric Flair 1950 Genichiro Tenryu 1951 Jumbo Tsuruta 1952 Randy Savage 1953 Ricky Steamboat 1954 Roddy Piper 1955 Vader 1956 Ricky Morton 1957 Bret Hart 1958 Arn Anderson 1959 Sting 1960 Negro Casas 1961 Akira Taue 1962 Mitsuharu Misawa 1963 El Hijo del Santo 1964 Steve Austin 1965 Mick Foley 1966 Yoshihiro Takayama 1967 Kenta Kobashi 1968 Bull Nakano 1969 Jun Akiyama 1970 Aja Kong 1971 manami Toyota 1972 The Rock 1973 Necro Butcher 1974 Rey Mysterio Jr. 1975 Tomohiro Ishii 1976 Hiroshi Tanahashi 1977 AJ Styles 1978 CM Punk 1979 Samoa Joe 1980 Shinsuke Nakamura 1981 Bryan Danielson 1982 Mistico 1983 Kenny Omega 1984 Sami Zayn 1985 Jon Moxley 1986 PAC 1987 Kazuchika Okada 1988 Rush 1989 Nick Jackson 1990 Iyo Ski 1991 Hangman Adam Page 1992 Mercedes Mone 1993 Will Ospreay 1994 Giulia 1995 Toni Storm 1996 Sareee 1997 Tyler Bate 1998 Utami Hayashishita 1999 Miu Watanabe 2000 Momo Watanabe 2001 Mascara Dorada 2.0 2002 AZM I don’t have biological details on the French wrestlers in the back of the list so that could be a gap. Anything obvious I missed?
  2. Labor of Love in Philly also pulled her for a booking I don't think they even officially announced.
  3. Has anyone in recent memory ever been held criminally liable for assault in a wrestling match? Feels like something that could well set a precedent.
  4. Dani Mo was also at the Power Slap...tryout? Combine. AFAIK they haven't worked together or on the same show since the OVW incident.

Looking at that team, climbing Everest 24 times is crazy work. Ang Dorjee was on Rob Hall's ill fated '96 expedition and the Adventure Consultants company is the one Darby used.
  6. They also kept playing that into the rematches. Backlund won the blowoff cage match when Graham got his foot tangled.
  7. Beyond the optics of the roast itself, it kind of amazes me that they thought a work related roast was a good idea. Would you trust your job telling you to cut loose on your co-workers?
  8. https://bsky.app/profile/luchablog.bsky.social/post/3lnalmpjnhc2c Sad to see. Someone who was having great matches practically til the day he passed.
  9. I always found it interesting how Tama was a star incredibly early in his career, before he turned 20. But by the time Rikishi became a star Tama was long faded. Never seen another pair of twins with career paths like it.
  10. I don't begrudge the GoFundMe because there's a ton of expenses not associated with normal medical bills. But yeah, shilling for it on your television show is awkward.
  11. Shelton Benjamin’s mother was my first thought.
  12. My going hypothesis is whatever they cover will push scandal entirely on Vince and whitewash the current WWE staff and their corporate culture.
  13. Every streaming service, Youtube ad, etc. It sucks.
  14. And government mandated anti-smoking advertisements.

Wikipedia has the Samoans winning tag titles in twelve different promotions. Almost all their footage comes from the last third of their run. I feel like there's a decent handful of their matches that were great but are lost to time.
  16. I remember that six man airing on the old WWE 24/7 service and it's indeed tremendous. Albano running and tagging a clearly fatigued Dick Murdoch back in is a highlight.
  17. Honestly, does any Hall of Fame exist with unassailable standards?

    WWE announces "WWE Speed"

They need a version of WWE Speed just for entrances and recap packages.
  19. What other shows are folks attending this weekend. I'm missing this one but I'm heading to Euphoria and CFU on Thursday.
  20. There's a little chuckle in me that Ali is getting inducted in Joe Frazier's home city.
  21. There was a news article somewhere claiming Jones was a decade older than widely reported. I don't think that got verified but it's out there.
  22. World Class kind of had the same format. They would run a big show and then show the matches over the next couple weeks.
  23. Rock getting injured by Roman's minions would give Cody a way back in.
  24. Probably fits better here than the Meltzer thread. So Jericho? Or is that too presumptuous?
  25. A thought. With high definition tv could it be a matter of black gear being easier to avoid staining?
