If you didn't see Collision last night, the crowd totally shit on Hook and popped for everything that Big Bill did to the point that he couldn't contain his amusement.
-
Brian Cage and Sammy Guevara both dressing like Wolverine while on opposite teams in the same match is pretty funny.
-
I could see them leaving Tonga Loa out of the match, and having Rock come in last.

During my local ring announcing tenure, Sullivan worked several shows for the promoter and he was always the nicest guy and very easy to talk too. I'll always remember him browsing through the pile of DVDs I brought to sell at the merch table and engaging me in conversation about Ring of Honor and who from there we thought was good enough to make it to WWE. Very sorry to hear of his passing.

AEW TV 7/31-8/3 Double J, professional motivational speaker
Blehschmidt replied to sek69's topic in AEW
It does make Wembley seem like a foregone conclusion, but maybe follows it up by saying that whenever he loses the title he is finished? It would make every defense an absolute must see match, and when he finally does go down, it puts someone over huge. -
Past the very brief "Wow, a McMahon in another company" it does absolutely nothing for AEW except for make them look like they are clutching at anything they can to be relevant. It would be different if he offered anything but name value, but the man is 54 years old, was seemingly never much of a booker/storyline guy, and the last time he was in the ring looked like he was going to fucking die.

Taking the title off of Billie Starkz this quickly has to be to build her as Athena's opponent for Final Battle again, right? Otherwise, what's the point?

AEW TV - 7/24 -7/27 - Prestige Worldwide Presents Blood & Guts
Blehschmidt replied to Timbo Slice's topic in AEW
I'm not denouncing the new.War Games/Blood & Guts, as for the most part I have enjoyed them for what they are. But I still think there is a big difference between them. Previously War Games was presented as a hate filled, gritty, blood feud, last ditch effort to get the cheating heels and give them no way out (well at least the early ones thru 94, I won't defend anything post Hogan) These new ones are spectacles full of high spots, plunder, and death defying moments. Athletically, the new ones are a thousand times more exciting than the originals. Spot wise, they probably are as well. But to me they lack that feeling of the originals, the stakes if you will. When the Horseman or the Dangerous Alliance were finally forced into that cage, it felt like they were FINALLY going to get what was coming go them. It's never been made to feel that way for The Undisputed Era or The Elite. But, that is probably just a problem of modern booking and not the match itself. However, because of it, I will still take Wargames '92 over anything produced by WWE or AEW -
WWE TV 07/15 - 07/21 Football is, in fact, not coming home
Blehschmidt replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I mean, there are already a ton of people who think it's a work. Once Hogan's version with a squad of snipers, the entire North Korean army, and Trump tearing every muscle in his back body slamming a 2000 plus pound Andre the Giant a mere 12 hours before he died starts making the rounds...... -
Whether people like the style or not, the pace those two kept for an hour is absolutely fucking bonkers.
-
O'Spreay and MJF opening up Dynamite 250, and they are about 45 minutes into what I am assuming is going to be an hour broadway and they've managed to keep it entertaining. (If you like the AEW style) Great start to the show IMO

The hell with Jarrett, I spent that whole match praying for that ref bump so Nigel could come off commentary and cost Danielson the match and the tournament. Nigel deserves an actual retirement match and I really hope this happens before Danielson calls it a career.
-
Maybe Bryan Danielson vs Zack Sabre Jr would be more your style when it comes to AEW?
-
The Claudio Castagnoli/Black Taurus (or whatever his name is now) match from Collision this week was really good. Worth checking out if you have the time and the availibility.
-
That really was a fantastic Dynamite. Danielson/PAC was excellent. Not sure where this Jericho/Hook angle is leading though. Logical build is Taz returning to the ring to beat Jericho's ass, and I was a huge Taz fan back in the day, but...at this point... as cool as it would be to hear "War Machine" again, I just don't know about that.

Momo Watanabe and Kris Statlander vs Willow and Tam Nakano announced for the PPV pre-show, and that should be a fun match. -
WWE TV - 6/17 - 6/21 - Owned By A Contraction. Again.

The 4th has to be Sami Zayn doesn't it -
I'm thinking Nigel costs Danielson the match against Pac and sets up Danielson vs McGuiness at Wembley to finaly give Nigel the proper retirement match he never got. Honestly wouldn't be shocked to see Ospreay vs Pac for the title at Wembley. Two high flying U.K. guys doing crazy shit... Why not. and Mariah is winning the womens tournament for sure.

and.now Jordynne Grace's earring has been torn out of her ear and is stuck in Roxanne's leg. Those things both also seem like they would be unpleasant! -

Jeebus, that ladder bump that Lash Legend took looked like it had to suck a whole lot. -
FTR vs Claudio and Yuta was very enjoyable last night. Meanwhile the Dustin Rhodes/John Morrison match was an absolute trainwreck
