Martel vs Tonga may be the only one.

I'll have to look at the whole lineup to be sure.
  3. I know there were people that came out of the shows here in the 80s absolutely confused about what they saw...believed it wasn't real, but then it felt and looked like it was. Especially true with the big brawls. It was a testament to the workers that they could make things blurry for a lot of folks that came to see them live.

yes it's available. highlights of the last few minutes as I recall, not the whole thing. Their match the night before that set up the switch is also out there in jip form.

Was thinking the same thing, possibly footage sent to Florida to promote the Funks, given the way we get footage crossovers between territories a lot. Fingers crossed it's part of more Amarillo material though.

  8. CBC has a YouTube channel called encore+ that is adding older tv series and specials all the time, I check it daily so maybe they'll put some pro wres up there sometime, you never know.

I don't know why Dusty got what he got there. Larry was just in and had a nice match with curt on the previous card, then he gets basically squashed by a "special guest star" in for the battleroyal. Maybe Dusty demanded a short clean win in exchange for working a match on top of the battleroyal, and Verne acquiesced. Also maybe there wasn't a plan for Larry established yet beyond the mid card so taking a loss like this wouldn't be seen as detrimental to his future there (which I guess it wasn't as he started better programs later on).

I have 3:12 of this on my Mad Dog set. Hoping this is the full match.
  12. There is a set of footage available starting circa 1977 which is about as early as there is for footage en masse (was originally buddy rose's footage, converted by hoops Johnson, as I recall). After that "The Buddy Rose tapes" continue with a large amount of shows beginning in 1980 that are out there (hoops may have converted these too). There are also compilations from the 80s available from various sources including the dvdvr project which is probably the best of the "best of" Portland stuff. There are also the Verne siebert tapes which are mid and later 80s for the most part covering the latter part of the decade. So....from my own memory of what is out there I would go in this order for Portland stuff: 1) hoops 70s set 2) buddy rose 80s 3) dvdvr project for best of 80s 4) siebert later 80s shows 5) special mention to the bix beta classics which als has some nice quality 80s Portland as I recall.

That seven minutes of the high flyers vs Tito and Rick that we have would be one for sure. Not the one where Tito is pinned with a droplock from Jim, the one before that. There are tons more im sure but that one is first and foremost for me.

I would bet they are the same, probably with some of the build from the month before and interviews included here with the full match. Same for Blackwell and Andre, likely the full match from the one we had available previously. Very cool

...Also Brody was pinned by Kabuki in this time frame, and it made video and is out there. Maybe this is a clean version of that match. Potential Brody and Sheik jobs in the same footage drop? that would be nutty if true...

A texas death match against Fritz in Texas. If the Sheik was ever gonna do a clean job, this is probably the match he would do it in. Will be interesting to see.
  18. Bret the Mechanic is an excellent description of Bret in the steamboat match from Boston (one of my top favourite matches of all time).

I would imagine it is complete with only two matches and a duration of one hour. Should be fun, I loved that little clip we got on AWA wrestling back in the day.

  23. Nice, will check it out for sure.
  24. the most likely answer. @PeteF3, They were taping at least specific matches in Chicago for clips in 1985 (Martel vs. Hayes, Martel vs. Roberts are the two I first think of from that time frame). I know at least one guy that was in attendance for Flair-Robinson and he didn't seem to think it was filmed as he saw no cameras, even in the place they normally had one for the odd Chicago clips they would show on TV. Same for Bockwinkel-Wanz, unfortunately, which doesn't mean either wasn't filmed of course, but if they did it wasn't obvious.
