  1. Thanks, those are fun to read.
  2. Later on they advertised for a show in Minneapolis with local promos. I want to say 86, maybe later. But before the Vinny invasions, no. Actually WCCW even sent up a kabuki vs Chris Adams match that went on an AWA house show in St Paul later on. I can't remember the year exactly but post-84 for sure.
  3. I always find that disclaimer funny considering the people likely most interested are used to watching far, far worse over the years
  4. That one is pretty well known though. Still brutal.
  5. All he meant was those things are better requested through PM. Nothing wrong with requesting anything like that, its more of a where and how to do it thing. EDIT: maybe pm Loss (Charles) and he can steer you where you want to go.

  8. These are the ones you hope are not one-offs and that they have the entire card kicking around.
  9. The AWA stuff and what they have is a bit of a mystery. They haven't used or put up too much of it so far but seem to have the odd gem pop up in wrestler-themed drops. Problem with the tv is the interview reels were circulated separately and if they have them piecing them together is or would be a nightmare. AWA tv itself are squashes usually not conducive to holding a non hardcore sense attention for any length of time. they have shows going back to at least 1970 and matches from the 60s have appeared too. Plenty of newer material (80s stuff I mean) too. so what they have and will eventually release is up in the air.
  10. The power to bury talent? (well at least old school Trips...)

  13. I recently watched a two disc set labelled wcw title tourney 2000. If there was ever an example of how convoluted wcw was at that time those two discs are it. No wonder I remember losing interest...I couldn't keep up with how things changed week to week. Just nuts. gimmicks like rellik getting "killed" are no surprise in the context of that time frame and a fair bit before it too.

  15. Larry Matasyk would do that to teds name in at Louis too so it wasn't just the mid south gang. Always hated hearing that pronounciation and would mentally correct it to the point of annoying myself. 😂
  16. Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys as Trailer park wrestler The Green Bastard was fun too.

This being a weekly drop is awesome.
  18. Me too. All the intricate arm and leg locks really. The Indian deathlock is one. I don't know if that gets used these days or not but I loved that one too.
  19. this will be my favourite answer on this board for a very long time.

  21. I love they flat out talk about Hart vs. Magee like that
  22. Like what Sek said, the article has him as part of a group of guys charged with attacking a teenage girl: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/19212498/mr_wrestling_ii_johnny_walker_rape/ This one stuns me. I didn't think something awful an old schooler did way back when could do that anymore, but this one does.
