  1. Interesting. Has the burrhead jones bit from the posted clip but the hert bit before that isn't listed. Could be there I suppose. I've browsed the site previously but I have never gotten anything from them myself.
  2. Where were you getting that set from is the best question...Someone here might know of it or have it and would know the score. I went through my still unwatched Continental from the time frame but that week or two's worth of discs isn't in the pile.
  3. Yeah even though they worked other places (Bob did some good work in Portland as Karl Steiner as I recall), when I hear the Della Serra name and it takes my memory to Montreal right away.
  4. There were a few Florida eps up on the old 24/7 channel but I don't think it's been done much on the network. Not many plans to expand thenold school stuff on demand at the moment. Regarding the promos, if other territories are like the AWA then what your suggesting likely won't ever happen. The AWA promo reels were filmed separately from the tv show and each market got their promos sent along with the tv on a different reel. So ifthe reels are still around (and most aren't) it becomes almost impossible to match them up properly, at least it's more work than anyone would pay to get done I suspect. Plus i think most of the reels with promos didn't make it back to the minny vault. Did local interviews in other areas bicycle the same way? I don't know but possibly. there are probably some territory sets out there with promos put together with matches as you've described. I've done a few like that for the AWA and it's definitely a lot better way to watch things. Puts the bouts in context like you noted.
  5. Yeah...I don't get the impression we will see any more of this anytime soon. Happy for what we did get though.

  9. I dunno about that...depends on his plan for the network moving forward. If it's not a thing for him anymore then purchasing the footage would have no use for him. Although owning everything he can is probably still a thing...so who knows?
  10. International is where I saw him live. Also I think Abdullah was he last champ, they did the switch at every stop in the circuit from what I recall
  11. RIP. A real favourite of mine back in the day, an imposing figure to see in the ring live, and one of those guys that was big in some places but never ventured to any of the big 3, possibly by his own choice.

    WWE Hidden Gems

I wonder if this will affect classic content dumps in the form of TV, like Mid South or WCW or WCCW. Does this mean that other territories possibly scheduled for a similar treatment will now not happen?

    WWE Hidden Gems

Unreal. Was there that little interest in them outside of our group? Without the Gems sooooo much of the classic library will stay hidden, save for clips in specials and docs. Incredibly maddening. I hope they change their minds on this one.
  15. Good...haven't seen a lot of 70's stuff from them, but there are some classic early 80s bouts that are out there which are fun.
  16. Hopefully those film reels have full shows form the stadiums on them with stuff that didn\t air. Any ideas how far back that library was supposed to go? 70's?

    WWE Hidden Gems

The Main event JIP and post match interviews aired but that's it. I wasn't even sure they filmed the whole show. This is a big surprise for me, and actually gives me hope that Twin Wars 90 was taped too (Flair-Pillman was brought in from the NWA for that show, in exchange for Verne loaning them the Destruction Crew (aka Minnesota Wrecking Crew II). Should be fun although a bit bittersweet to see considering it was the last AWA title change.

    WWE Hidden Gems

Not as much fun as you would hope unfortunately. They did two or three tv tapings down that way on consecutive nights as I recall so maybe next September we will get another on of those nights. I recall a bad company vs RPMs match from that tour that I don't see on that match list for example.

Some of it looks fresh but it'll need to be compared to the AWA tv shows that this stuff was used on. Lawler and valiant vs Hayes and Kerry immediately stands out. The rest I think aired. Maybe not gagne vs enos.
  21. Dates? Anything "new"?

This weeks offerings... plus they are teasing a bonus gem that may appear, also likely Harley related.
  25. As a kid-kid, we got AWA tv out of duluth which was mostly a Minneapolis feed as Verne didn't spend much time going to duluth in the 70s as I recall, at least later...very few localized duluth house show promos, it was mostly for Minny and the St. Paul civic center. That was saturfay evenings, although for a while there was a Sunday morning show too...not in the same time frame. we got superstars of wrestling out of Montreal, but broadcast on a southern Ontario station on Saturday afternoons around 2, which our local CBC or CTV affiliate carried. We also got Lars Andersons world league wrestling on duluth tv for a while, and they actually came here in 1979 and 1980 for shows. We have/had a weird market here for tv, so an hour outside of town in a 2000 person town they got the superstation but we did not, and no stampede here either which kind of surprises me now. It must also be remembered that 12 channels was all that were available in the 70s here since specialty stations weren't a thing yet. I was 15 when tsn and muchmusic started, and the movie channels where you needed a descrambler started up (we used to binge movie watch on their free preview weekends...lol) That was it until the 80s boom hit, and even then it didn't up the different shows much here until we got the big satellite dish, at which point everything I could imagine was on, all week long. Too much to count, really. The WWF presence was of course huge but I had a sprinkling of everything...with the exception of Memphis, which in hindsight I find kind of weird given the abundance of footage out there.
