That match is unseen as far as I know. Robinson vs. Bockwinkel from Christmas 1981 has been available for a long time. I'd have to see the card to know what else may already be out there.

Backstory to that match is the High Flyers are doing Wally Karbo a favor as the team he had lined up for them to wrestle that night cancelled in advance, so he asked them to wrestle the Sheiks in a non title match (Sheiks had just formed a short time previous). The Chicago version of this angle actually ran a few months later in early 1982. The same teams battled Christmas night in 1982 as well. This was a looooong feud, and it drew really well.
  3. RIP to a very underappreciated wrestler. Had some wwwf title bouts vs Pedro that I hope turn up on the network someday. Larry Hennig and Harley Race had a magnificent tag team in the AWA way back when...only footage that exists of them is when they reunited for a real world tag tourney in Japan in iirc 1981. The old timers I know speak more than fondly of them.

When the team challenge aired originally on AWA tv, I may have been the only person in North America actually trying to keep track of it...and I failed miserably. Never mind anyone trying to pick it up on the fly. Lol.

    Home video pilot? Intriguing.
  6. I'd guess it's from 1983. They did clash in Winnipeg in 83. It could be their thanksgiving St. Paul match too, until now it was only available via raw footage. ill bet Winnipeg for now. gotch and goulet may be tag champs there...they did hold the belts briefly in that time frame.

  8. Agreed about Race there. No way he avoids Brody...or anyone else for that matter.

  11. I don't remember Hearing about Brody and Race having so much heat with each other before this.

  14. Wrestling Eye was an incredible change of pace magazine wise when it came out, for those of us that didnt know the Observer existed at the time (and there were plenty of us I'm sure).
  15. Dave doubling down on Sunshine looking like a tramp is interesting. Secret crush perhaps? Lol
  16. Garvin vs Adams (and their valets being involved like that) being that big in St. Louis of all places seems like a stretch to me. But who knows I suppose...
  17. Wiz was a talker. I'm sure you've just missed his promos until now.
  18. As stupid as it sounds maybe Sharpe didn't want to job in his "hometown" (maybe his real home town, I dunno) of Hamilton. Lol
  19. Thanks, those are fun to read.
  20. Later on they advertised for a show in Minneapolis with local promos. I want to say 86, maybe later. But before the Vinny invasions, no. Actually WCCW even sent up a kabuki vs Chris Adams match that went on an AWA house show in St Paul later on. I can't remember the year exactly but post-84 for sure.
  21. I always find that disclaimer funny considering the people likely most interested are used to watching far, far worse over the years
  22. That one is pretty well known though. Still brutal.
  23. All he meant was those things are better requested through PM. Nothing wrong with requesting anything like that, its more of a where and how to do it thing. EDIT: maybe pm Loss (Charles) and he can steer you where you want to go.
