  1. That's a helluva project. Good work.

  3. I don't mind those silent bits. Sometimes less is more and the less-is-more announcer is a rare rare thing in wrestling.

  5. I've seen a lot of Estrada on MSG shows of the era. He's usually a lot of fun, even moreso when matched up with someone of comparable size and speed.

  7. There could be some real gems in this drop. One friend of mine has been waiting to see the "third Executioner" angle from TV again since it aired. As an example.
  8. Must have been phenomenal.
  9. Bahaha
  10. When Greg Gagne came in and attacked Brody and Kaissie in the St. Paul Civic Center at the end of the Blackwell-Brody death match in the Fall of 1984, the Gagne-Blackwell standoff afterwards, and then their embrace, burying years of their own blood feud, combined with Greg returning after being out since April, caused a pop that almost blew the roof off of the building. I was not there live but I know people that were and they said it was incredible.
  11. Someone should post a list of what Corny is alleged to have in another forum. I'd like to see it.
  12. Mad Dog Vachon being interviewed in "The Dog Shop" by Mean Gene Okerlund as he builds a coffin for his Death match with Jerry Blackwell.
  13. So the expectation is that there will be 2-3 price points for accessing Network content? If that is the case I wonder how that will shake out in places like here (Canada) where the channel is like a regular TV channel and content accessibility is different (not sure how it is now but the library was extremely limited when the network kicked off in Canada. Any other Canucks here that have the service?) (and apologies if this was discussed previously, I must have missed it or forgot about reading it. Getting old sucks...)

  16. Sheik breaks his leg during the match but to make it look like an accident he finds a way for Hogan to pin him and still win the title. Hogan is the champ but can't defend the title or promote himself and the Hogan experience live for the first three months, which gives Verne and the NWA and the rest time to assess what Vince is doing and trying to do. It doesn't change much at the end of the day. Likely it delays the inevitable and maybe enough so WrestleMania I is in 1986, not 1985.
  17. That stip was put in at the contract signing between the two teams.
  18. Nicely done. the Hart-Steamboat match is my all time favourite Bret match and I'm glad it made the top 25. The thing that always stuck with me about that match is that Bret made me believe he could actually win that match. Considering it was Steamboat and he was as hot as he was, there is no way i should have reasonably believed Bret had a chance. And yet, thanks to both of them and the match they had, I did. It was also probably the first time myself and many others took real notice of Bret in the ring, and his skillset. Just one of those matches that sticks because it catches you by surprise, and as a hardcore fan back then that was very hard to do.
  19. Vince grabbing AWA Champion Slaughter out of spite was a real thing even at that late stage. Larry couldn't be grabbed since he was with Verne's daughter. Larry and Greg were the only real choices given the times. I agree with Slaughter as an underrated pick even though I never thought of him as underrated. the reasons outlined above on how good and key he was to so many big angles and matches has always stuck with me, and I personally have recognized how awesome he has always been. Even his Super Destroyer Mark 2 gimmick in the AWA was a scary a masked gimmick as you could find back then, really...that jaw line gave his mask a really different dimension and made it scarier than regular masked guys (lol).
  20. I'd want a year from the late 60's or early 70's from Chicago's International Ampitheatre, or a year from the Minneapoilis Auditorium in the 60's. I would have to research it to pick a specific year, but seeing some of the AWA legends that really aren't well seen on video (Like the Larry Hennig/Harley Race tag team, Stevens and Bockwinkel, Prime Verne title defenses, Bruiser and Crusher...so many more) would be glorious.
  21. Oh shit, what match? I hope I didn't make a HUGE error. Haha I will let you know if it's there when the list is complete. (If it isn't no worries it's subjective of course )
  22. Nicely done and my favourite Bret match has made the top 25 so I am happy (unless it isn't on the list at all in which case I will strenously object! )
  23. Thanks, more good stuff here. Looking forward to the next batch of 25 already.
