  1. Did they have much reach in the midwest? I heard somewhere they were shown in Chicago.
  2. How far did their distribution reach nationally? I've heard it said they beat New York's ratings in that area for a little bit, which at least meant it was being carried there.
  3. Yeah, this is probably the best this (or any of their other vintage stuff) footage has ever looked. From what little I've seen so far I notice some old-fashioned VHS distortion, but nothing too rattling for me. Weird seeing King Kong Bundy with hair.
  4. Superbrawl '95 starts in the middle of the first match, which struck me as odd.
  5. I'm starting to get into this, after having watched the Heroes of World Class doc and WWE's own program on them (which is actually very good). I'm cherry-picking at the moment, started out with the match from early '84 between Ric Flair and Chris Adams, which is quite good. A few questions; how far back does WWE's footage go? It starts in '82 but I got the impression from the Heroes doc that they were on television much further back from that. And given that they just recently put up a "Star Wars" show from 1982 in the Hidden Gems section, is there stuff they have from World Class that possibly wasn't broadcast (at least in it's entirety) on television?
  6. Her body language in the 30 For 30 alone communicated to me something much deeper than her just showing bratty behavior around her dad, and that yeah she's only doing this for his affection.

  8. I think if someone had thought of just to call him "Bruce" Heenan as opposed to Bobby Jr. it might have happened.
  9. He's very good on Ballers, which as a total package is not a great show but does have some very talented actors that carry it along. I liked Johnson a lot in the Jumanji sequel. He does a good job at acting surprised at how bad-ass he is, which is perfect for the story it tries to tell.
  10. Bruce coming back in the late 90's as a con-man type manager is one of those things I actually would have liked to have seen in the Attitude Era
  11. https://youtu.be/FETMsP51qs0 It's been up on YouTube for a couple years now, too.
  12. I watched Barry Lyndon for the first time recently, and later when looking up the case I noticed that Pat Roach who is in the fist-fight scene (with a rather gnarly scar around his armpit) was a wrestler himself. He was also in Raiders of The Lost Ark, as the baddie in the airplane fight with Indiana Jones.
  13. The Mario Lopez story was fantastic
  14. I have gotten a lot of enjoyment lately out of watching the WWF tag scene from the time they and the Bulldogs started with the company, really right up until the Road Warriors were brought in. I started as a fan after they split up, but there is little doubt for me that The Hart Foundation might be the greatest tag team Vince ever pushed. For 3 years their best heel tag team, and arguably the best face team for the next 3. Jim had those hyped, non-sensical promos that fit right in with what Hogan and Warrior were spouting off every week. He could also move pretty fast for a guy his size. I love the slingshot move they broke out every once in awhile where Bret would torpedo Jim over the top rope onto someone. And their finish might be the tag team equivalent of Arn Anderson's spinebuster.
  15. I'm getting into The Lapsed Fan podcast. First episode I'm into covers this show and right away they talk about how the heat for this match is pretty much evaporated because of the "Hogan Must Pose" finish of the previous match. I hadn't really thought of that before but it's true. Add that on to the fact the WWF audience has already seen Warrior beat Rude several times before (they try and add suspense by saying this is Warrior's first cage match, suggesting somehow that he could be too stupid to understand the rules of one or maybe that's just me) already, it's a lackluster finish to the show.
  16. I am in utter agreement with your 1st statement. And I hope you're right about the 2nd one.
  17. Tribune is withdrawing from the Sinclair merger, choosing instead to sue them for breach of contract to the tune of $1 billion. My immediate reaction as far as ROH is concerned, is that this might not be good for them in terms of their television deal. If Tribune takes them down on this, they could be the first victim of whatever house-cleaning Sinclair deems necessary.
  18. Him and Conrad have genuine chemistry as podcasters which elevate it to not just being a great wrestling show but a great podcast period. The routines and other stuff people might find annoying is probably less in volume compared to WHW which I'm guessing has gotten a bit too "Bob & Tom" for my tastes.
  19. At least when it comes to DDP, the company have come around and recognized him through the Yoga program and have brought him in from time to time to their training facilities, etc. And certainly centering his Hall of Fame induction around his WCW career where he was most over, and not trying to justify themselves as to how abysmally they used him in 2001.
  20. I listened to the DDP bit and yeah, Bruce's true colors are flying pretty high here. But that is, strange as it sounds, the beauty of the show. He is a direct conduit to the McMahon mindset. He's certainly got his own opinions which maybe stand contrary to Vince's, but Bruce was indoctrinated by working there long enough you can see the way a very complex mind works.
  21. Okay I'm a few episodes in, and hooked. He's a good podcaster.
  22. Many titles were added several months ago, and new ones have been added in the last 24 hours including: British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith (1993) George The Animal Steele (1987) The Hulkster Hulk Hogan (1985) Hacksaw Jim Duggan (1989) Bret Hart: Greatest Matches (1993) Hulk Hogan: Real American (1989) Jake The Snake Roberts (1987) The Hart Foundation (1987) The Ken Patera Story (1987) Macho Man and Elizabeth (1987) Bruno Sammartino: Living Legend (1987) The Life and Times of Capt. Lou Albano (1986) The Undertaker - The Face of Fear (1994) Ricky The Dragon Steamboat (1986) Roddy Piper's Greatest Hits (1985) Andre The Giant (1985) Mixed feelings on a lot of this, especially having to do with music being replaced. I miss the music for the prologue to those old Coliseum vids, even though they left the sequence intact. Then again, there are matches on a lot of these you can't find elsewhere on the Network.
  23. Brown - causes opponents to retire and become UPS workers.
  24. We need to think up new colors to use.
