  1. Very strange that there hasn't been anything official yet. Regardless of that, or if putting them in is in part to appease a grieving daughter, but The Hart Foundation definitely deserve to be in. For at least the time they were together, they were the best tag team that company had. And maybe ever had.
  2. I wish they'd scale it down a bit, and not just in terms of the length. Do it like they did in 2004 and in the 90's where it'd be in a ballroom somewhere with just the roster, their families, etc. It would make for better television. I could see something like this if they ever get around to actually making a building for their HOF.
  3. I watched DDP/Goldberg from Halloween Havoc '98, and I've got to say it holds up as a fast-paced big-hype match. Hindsight-wise it would have been better if DDP won and broke the streak himself, as it could have built up another big program between the two, instead of...you know.
  4. I read somewhere that WWE might not make this as big a priority this year. I hope that's not the case but I somehow wouldn't be surprised after last year's show.
  5. I think if you consider the times he was employed by both companies, it might make a little more sense. He was hired by WCW in 1989 and had a lot of front-office attention because of his look and was put into big-time programs almost right away. He also made guaranteed money with them, where in WWF it was maybe not as financially lucrative as it might have been during the 80's and the Attitude Era when they were printing money. He joined the WWF in 1991 just before the steroid scandal hit, and rocked the company to it's core PR-wise, to the point that when he returned in 1995, they were doing Raw from miniscule venues compared to the ones he even performed in 3 years earlier.
  6. Conrad's aside/response to Sid's claim that he was using someone else's urine during a drug test might be the most hilarious thing I've ever heard from him on this show.
  7. I've got to think it's going to be a very NYC-centric class, so probably no outliers like The Midnight Express or possibly even Vader.
  8. I like the idea of doing a whole show around just inducting Undertaker. The character is a crucial part of history and the man himself a practical institution to those who have worked there for the last 20 years now. As a television show it badly needs to be rethought. It's one thing to have total freedom because it's your Network and not being bound by the restrictions of networks, but overkill is all the more possible if things get out of hand.
  9. Who ya got?
  10. I feel like Hennig did better when he was doing commentary for the company in 96 but I could be wrong on that. I generally agree that he wasn't good during this time, but I remember thinking he was okay at the '96 Rumble.
  11. They replaced the theme music with generic filler on most episodes. I say most because one I watched had the original intact, and another one had both tunes playing at the same time!
  12. 34 episodes from 1992 went up today, starting from April which happened to be the very month I got into wrestling. Watching this stuff will be quite the nostalgia trip.
  13. Who the hell is holding them up over this?
  14. I think Vince even said he was a fan of the show on one of his interviews with Bob Costas.
  15. TBS is also wildly different to how it was in the 90's, when it had Clint Eastwood marathons every Thanksgiving and Bond movie marathons every so often too. It was also very Atlanta-centric to some degree because it aired Braves and Hawks games as opposed to the more widespread MLB and NBA coverage the Turner networks have now. USA is basically the same as it was in the 90's, but less older movies.
  16. Content-wise TBS and USA are on the lower tier of attention compared to places like FX or AMC which have a longer history of more acclaimed original programming. TBS got a lot of attention when Conan O'Brien chose them for his new show after leaving NBC, and since marketed themselves much more as a comedy channel though I think they still show some sports (baseball I think?) so AEW wouldn't be too afar a fit I think.
  17. Funniest thing I've seen all week
  18. The tribute was actually very heartfelt and you could tell he got legit emotional from watching the video before doing his promo.
  19. I get the feeling I'm going to appreciate this thread more and more, than actually listening to the show. Not a knock on either guy, but the kind of confrontational tone the show takes could get on my nerves very easily.
  20. Prichard's version of Heenan leaving is that his terms could have been met if he requested to be paid as an employee of the company as opposed to an "independent contractor", to which Vince probably would have agreed but Bobby was set on leaving regardless.
  21. I've said this about Heenan but it applies to Okerlund just as much, but that the WWF lost way more in the both of them in 1993 than almost any other wrestler leaving except Hogan. Even when he was in WCW, getting long in the tooth and maybe a little inebriated, he was still miles ahead of anybody else suited for the job.
  22. Piper had matches with Curt Hennig in Portland which I'm sure give anything else he's done a run for their money.
  23. Couldn't have said it any better. I think it's also fair to say that of anyone else in either the broadcast booth or holding the mic, nobody had the chemistry with Hogan that he had. Gene could get across the fact that he supported Hulk, and could help get across the angles at the same time. A sorely underrated moment during the heel turn at Bash At the Beach 96 is when Hogan turns more aggressive towards Okerlund with his usual shtick.
  24. I was at that show. I don't know how it played on TV, but the ovation was rather tepid for him and he looked way slimmed down compared to his halcyon days,
