  1. I read they might be close to a deal. There is a Jerry Lawler documentary in the works so I imagine they'll get something soon.
  2. Is it true Hogan's WM IV check was 1 million?
  3. As to how WWE got the rights to Global, wouldn't it have just been part and parcel with the World Class deal?
  4. I was surprised to learn how poor his WCW deal was. Per what he said on Austin's podcast he made some percentage less of what Marc Mero was, who left not long after Wight started.
  5. What I want to know is, what breaks this monotony and puts the company in trouble again? Another WCW? In truth there is no lack of good wrestling around that's not WWE, but none of them (that I know of) can offer their talent anything approaching something equal to what they have. Plus good luck finding a company as big as Turner's was willing to put wrestling relatively in the forefront as Ted did. Another Chris Benoit-level tragedy? They've done well to cover their ass with their wellness program. Don't get me wrong, they've done some good things with it, too. But one gets the impression that ass-covering is more the reason for it. I certainly did after listening to Punk's AOW interview, and he even says as much in it.
  6. The main branch of the subject usually is Steve Austin, but in a way WCW losing Vader and Dustin Rhodes hurt the company in their own ways too. Especially Rhodes, who could legitimately have had a shot at being a top guy if he stuck around. It's especially painful to consider this with how ultimately unremarkable the Goldust character was from a wrestling standpoint when the character was fresh. He worked with top talent, but it wasn't terribly consistent and thus was given less opportunities to shine in the ring.
  7. They will put up an episode of Mid-South Wrestling sometime next month for Black History Month, with a show headlined by Junkyard Dog vs. King Kong Bundy.
  8. Jesse's commentary has been removed from individual matches on WWE's recent home video releases so it's possible he stirred that pot up again. Plus, considering that Chris Kyle has been in the news again because of American Sniper doing so well at the Box Office, I'm not sure they'd want to risk giving Jesse TV time for fear that it might hurt their relationship with the USO.
  9. An Owen Hart-Eddie Guerrero program in that era of WWE would have been equally entertaining outside the ring as it was in. Don't forget Kurt Angle, who I think was in one of Owen's last matches.
  10. I can see why it's good to put Cena with Rusev. Make the fans feel like communists if they boo Cena.
  11. I know they've done cropping on stuff before, but that's more like for clips for documentaries (it's all over the Flair one for example). They've never done that for full shows, which is more important imo.
  12. That would be kind of awesome, but who knows if Jesse is cool with Vince anymore or not.
  13. Kane broke Shawn Michaels' record of most eliminations.
  14. Technical question, did they start filming in 4K or in a higher resolution than before? Once the live feed kicked in, it looked pretty great from what I could see.
  15. And we're pretty much stuck with those bars, because you can't upgrade VHS like you can film. Unless they decide to crop them, in which case it would all look pretty terrible (they do a bit of this already on their shows like Countdown).
  16. Arnold Schwarzenegger to be inducted into the celebrity wing.
  17. I'd like to think this is His long-delayed response to Vince's challenge
  18. All I've got to say is this. At least DDP was eliminated on camera.
  19. Had he never been fired (for something as stupid as he was fired for btw) he could have become a huge draw. Imagine how useful and effective he could have been for the WCW side during the NWO angle. It's almost sad if you think about the great matches he had with Austin and Rude, and the hot angle he had going with Fuller and his stable of guys (until Hulkamania ran afoot that is), and then just a few years later seeing him do the gay heel act to Ahmed Johnson and The Ultimate Warrior. It's a small consolation now that he's doing so well with his brother, and from what I've seen some of that old fire he had is still there.
  20. They just added a new card to the "Old School" section, the 1/23/84 MSG show.
  21. The best match of WrestleMania III was Can-Am Connection/Orton & Muraco.
  22. Wouldn't they have a lot of AWA footage and maybe some MSG footage?
