Storyline-wise that makes a lot of sense, but it would not have had nearly the same impact as Hogan being the third man was. Plus it would have been in keeping with how often Lex went back and forth between heel and babyface when he was in WCW previously.

I can buy Scorpio being pissed off with Shawn, especially after how he treated Vader (who broke Scorpio in the business).

The Jim Cornette Experience
flyonthewall2983 replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
That sounds appalling. I never listen to Cornette pre-interview. Nor Jericho, Ross or Austin. Don't want to sound harsh, but I'm not there for their musings on life etc. I try to avoid pre-interview stuff on podcasts, period. Bill Burr has a podcast that is basically him ranting into a microphone, and that is way too close to talk radio for me to even entertain the idea of listening to. And I think he's hilarious and a good actor, so it's not anything against him. Sad to hear Cornette had such a narrow opinion on Williams' death, I figured he'd be a little more respectful. I believe I started this thread but I don't think I've actually listened to one of his shows. -
1992 - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
flyonthewall2983 replied to JaymeFuture's topic in Pro Wrestling
Good: Royal Rumble. It's basically the swan-song of their first golden era under Vince, Jr. utilizing nearly all of the top-level guys, and a lot of their long-term mid-card talent. Also gave Flair a chance to show off his wares before a world-wide audience, and a rather historic title win (being the 2nd guy to Buddy Rogers to have held both NWA and WWWF/WWF titles) Bad: The lack of Hogan in WWF was felt pretty deeply throughout the year. Making Savage the top guy made more sense in '88 then it did here, and Warrior looked ragged and was held down by the Shango feud until he was in a better position by the summer. Ugly: The demoralizing effect of the steroid controversies, as well as the sex scandal which came to light that year. -

The only notable thing in that preview that had my interest was that he was basically Rock's sparring partner before he came back. -

And a more reliable home video partner, if I were to guess. WB is no stranger to distributing home video from outside companies.

I know I saw something with her and Piper once, I think on his Twitter when it was announced she was first hospitalized. -
Was ECW all it was cracked up to be?
flyonthewall2983 replied to JaymeFuture's topic in Pro Wrestling
It seemed ECW knew their audience well, where I think WWF and WCW at best guessed and at worst didn't care at all for the sake of massaging and satisfying egos. Not just Paul, but the talent as well. On one hand it's pretty easy to do that when everyone is from roughly the same part of the world that they were performing in, on the other it's still quite endearing anyway. The same could be said for Memphis, the Carolina's, Texas, Florida, etc. etc. Even WWWF. In making his product a world-wide attraction, Vince lost a lot of that and the people who tried to compete with him didn't go for it much at all. -

One thing I forgot to mention that surprised me about that shoot was Bret putting over Balls Mahoney as a worker. -
Didn't realize Greg started this early in the year with them, especially as he was in the Royal Rumble just a few months earlier.

Is there any way we can get a pic of the "Bill Apter: Sports Entertainment Journalist" screenshot?

DDP just confirmed the news some of us were vaguely hearing on Twitter, that Jake Roberts is hospitalized and undergoing care. -
NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Levi & Korsinsky announces that a class action lawsuit has been commenced in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut on behalf of investors who purchased World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. ("WWE" or the "Company") (WWE) common stock between October 31, 2013 and May 16, 2014. The complaint alleges that throughout the Class Period defendants violated securities laws by failing to disclose the Company's true ability to command a premium fee in upcoming negotiations to renew its television license agreement. On May 16, 2014, the Company disclosed that it had reached a multiyear deal with NBCUniversal for its television programs Raw and SmackDown, stating that the annual value of its television distribution agreements is expected to reach $200 million, far below investor expectation. On a May 19, 2014 earnings call, Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon stated "We were a little disappointed in our NBCU deal, quite frankly..." If you suffered a loss in WWE you have until September 23, 2014 to request that the Court appoint you as lead plaintiff. Your ability to share in any recovery doesn't require that you serve as a lead plaintiff. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/shareh...5TkvUADCBXNyoA

That's what was mentioned in one of the previews some time ago. Maybe the rest is non-linear stuff about production, individual players behind the scenes, etc, etc?

Is it really 20 chapters?
