  1. In WCW, yes. I think he could have perservered through the Hogan era though. Not that he ever would have used it (more often it could have been used against his own momentum getting over), but his father was still a big part of the company and that kind of nepotism could have been a good balance against Hogan's influence. I could see him on the side of WCW like Savage, Luger and eventually Sting would be during the height of the NWO angle. In WWF I think he would have gotten the Goldust character regardless. To his credit he did make it work although it made the product awfully awkward, as his segments were counter-intuitive to the family-friendly approach they had in 95 and 96. But I'm just glad to see him part of the show now, especially performing like it's still the 90's. Thanks DDP. I was just thinking about it, but if WWE was a bit more forward thinking they could recycle some of those controversial angles, with less direct sexual overtones but made to just screw with guys' heads. But with Dust as a face this time.
  2. Curt Hennig. Had he never injured his back, he could have had the kind of career Bret or Shawn ultimately did have with Vince. If it all would have worked out before egos became involved between Bret and Shawn, Curt would have been the perfect common enemy that they could have exchanged lengthy title runs with. I don't know how well he would have fit in with the Attitude era character-wise but I could see him switching to the more intense working style that point in time produced.
  3. I always figured it would be Ambrose who would turn, he has more of a natural heel look.
  4. He knew exactly what he was doing.
  5. Intense match, but kind of a cutesy ending. That chair spot was insane.
  6. Really liked Vader's interview. Much better than his KC Timeline I'll admit. It's funny how Steve has become the best shoot interviewer around.
  7. Or just NXT.
  8. Mostly memorable due to Austin's performance, and doing the Diesel '94 angle all over again. It seemed more like luck that he got these guys out whereas with Diesel you can believe this big monster would be making short work of everyone. At the time it was interesting seeing all the Mexican guys appear, but now it appears pretty desperate knowing the whole story of how basically it was a free show and they scrambled to give it as much local flavor as they could when they realized Shawn was not as big a draw in Texas as they thought.
  9. Man that'll be something if they all go up. I really enjoyed last night's Legends House. No goofy challenges because the game show thing was more character-based rather than seeing who can make pancakes the quickest. Duggan being the anxious boyfriend waiting for Piper to call back was funny too.
  10. The accumulation of hokey angles didn't help him, nor the general downward direction of the company (in the U.S. anyway). I'd imagine those numbers rose dramatically during his feud with Mankind, someone both as a character and worker who could bring out something more in Taker.
  11. I don't know how much it would help either sales or Network numbers but it would be cool if they had one-night only showings of documentaries they are putting out like the upcoming Heyman one. It wouldn't completely stop the piracy of it from happening, but it would probably help them in the long-run if they want both the Network and Home Video departments to be strong.
  12. What do you mean by all?
  13. This brings something up I haven't asked before. Wasn't Steve Austin supposed to do the show at some point a few years earlier? Why I heard it never happened had something to do with Jim Breuer being fired,
  14. If that's true the placement of it is weird.
  15. Sid peeking his head out of the curtain when Hulk calls him out is a nice moment. He could be a trainwreck at times but he had skills.
  16. Is that music during the replay his entrance music?
  17. I'm trying to decide if the person reporting this was confused, outright lying or if Flair actually did cut a promo at the disney tapings mentioning Mr. Perfect for the Clash. All good questions because around this time Curt had the big comeback at WrestleMania, which started a program with Lex Luger that never went anywhere and he wasn't to be seen in WWF again until late next year. Was there any hubbub that he was talking with WCW? It would make sense to try and get him because he was as identifiable with WWF as anyone and could have fit in with the more competitive in-ring nature at the time.
  18. Miss Elizabeth was more Redbook than Playboy. She was certainly attractive, but I never got the sense she was ever promoted for sex appeal. I doubt that even came up and if it did Randy would have struck it down.
  19. Tatanka sure seemed to be shoe-horned into recycled angles. First taking Jake Roberts' place in 1992, being "blinded" by Rick Martel's "Arrogance". And now with Luger, doing the "whose corner will Mr. Perfect be in" angle (this time a little better executed I must say), even at the same event, two years later.
  20. From what I've seen and heard which admittedly is not much, Bill was better on-camera than calling the action.
  21. Surprised no one has mentioned this yet. Trended on Twitter for awhile.
  22. Leon White episode goes up Tuesday
  23. The better option would have been to have Lawler do pot shots back instead of making a big production out of it.
