  1. Still is.
  2. I was right, it didn't drag itself on WWE programming or Network. I'll be a little surprised to see if his passing even merits a mention at next years HoF.
  3. Nice seeing Pat come out. I know it's one of the worst kept secrets, but I don't believe he's ever said as much publicly.
  4. What I'm surprised at, is that nobody here has brought this up until now that I know of. I've seen ads on website for it but nothing on TV apart from Raw. I'd buy it if it were impossible for other networks to let them have commercial time for it though. I've only seen Netflix ads on TV a couple of times, and that is a major fish in the pond compared to the Network.
  5. Ditto. They had some wacky commercials back in the 90's (mostly piggy-backing other ideas, like the Dennis Hopper Nike commercials), but lately they've gotten real lazy (even by their standards) with regard to that.
  6. I remember clearly when they announced that Bret won the title, on All-American I believe. Was kind of out of nowhere as I thought he'd just go around with Davey Boy and get the IC title back.
  7. They should have made Michael a manager in 1995, have him take over Dibiase's stable.
  8. They're all from the south but of all of them, the only one with slightly thick southern accents are JBL and Austin. It's barely detectable in either Shawn or Taker's voice, and I can't really hear one in Jerry either.
  9. I'd really like to see Lawler on Letterman before Dave retires. I'm surprised they didn't try and get him after his recovery.
  10. That's probably a better idea (though maybe closer to 30 minutes since no commercials).
  11. Counterpoint: Hillbilly Jim, Jimmy Hart, Honky Tonk Man and the Big Boss Man.
  12. One scenario I can imagine is that if Randy stuck around, him and Bob (after winning the belt from Bret) would have gone around the horn in house shows before Nash getting the belt at the Royal Rumble as I can't imagine the original plan being Diesel winning the belt at a house show, even if it was MSG.
  13. I would hope they never take anything down. I mean this isn't a Netflix deal with rights issues to deal with. Once it's up on the Network, it should stay on the Network. I said this before, but the one exception to this that I would accept is if they put documentaries from forthcoming Home Video releases on for one night only, for the purpose of garnering interest in the release and maybe resulting in higher sales since that department is in something of a slump now.
  14. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
  15. And he'd only had 3 wins by then so maybe mildly impressive at the time. The streak itself was never as impressive to me as how well he worked so late in his career against guys like Shawn, Batista and others. It did build up this fascinating and engaging narrative that it sort of represented the fight within him to carry on after so long.
  16. I think the streak was first mentioned back in 1997 by Taker himself at the Slammys. It wasn't called "The Streak" but he mentioned he'd been undefeated at WM by that point.
  17. It's a pity they never had a Backlund/Savage match to follow this. When was the last time he even wrestled for them? It seemed like he did some stuff after WrestleMania and was mostly an announcer until he left.
  18. Has the Martel one come out yet? I think it'll be good. Bret obviously has some controversial opinions but he's always good for a shoot. And this will be his first time doing one of these with a guy who both has a good grasp of the material they'll be discussing and is a good interviewer so I look forward to it.
  19. On one of the "Legends of Wrestling" roundtables, someone said that Terry had told them that the Red Rooster and Mr. Perfect gimmicks were created the same day and that he was almost the latter.
  20. The Crush program was important to get him established. They would have just shot their wad starting with Taker out of the gate.
  21. That would be totally against character though. No, I think the best scenario is that New Orleans was the final act. Plus, I haven't heard anything as to the extent of his injuries after hearing he was taken to the hospital. He could no longer be in shape to perform as well as he could even last year against Punk.
  22. That's what I thought. I remember him dragging around Hogan with his bike.
  23. When was the last time he worked heel and did it successfully?
