Would Shawn Michaels Make Your Personal Top 100?
Victator replied to Dylan Waco's topic in The Microscope
I don't know how those Kennedy matches are suppose to be thought of as good. That Shawn vs Kane match was awful Most of it being on Shawn's head because he insisted on having Kane sell for those weak ass chops. It just looks like someone decided to list Shawn PPV matches and hoped nobody looked too close. -
They should bring Scorpio full time. He is still a great wrestler and he can pass for a young guy. I would bring in Vader part time. Watching his recent Indy appearances and Vader can still go on occasion.
-
Yeah I thought it would be Backlund last night. Since he is insane and is not a regular. Before that I said Howard Finkle and I think that could be explained. So Hornswoggle indirectly maimed Ricky Steamboat and everybody is cool with that?

I don't think I've ever been to an indy show that DIDN'T have an authority figure who regularly interacted with the wrestlers in the angles. It is an omnipresent tumor on the ass of the wrestling industry. Yeah. It's amazing how many people forget that Eric Bischoff was the first promoter to make himself into the evil authority figure; hell, he also played that role during his company's most profitable period ever. He did the exact same stuff Vince did and did it first. Of course his follow-through was weak; Eric was never as willing to book himself to be humiliated and take beatings like Vince did on a frequent basis. He was always more concerned about being the damn "cool heel" who practically never lost. But still, point is that it gets frustrating when people talk about how amazingly innovative the Mr. McMahon character was and how nothing like that had ever been done before. To the point he refused to sell for Harvey Shiller (think that is the spelling) from TBS. Then ignored the firing like George Costanza.

I wrote this at DVDVR. -
Funny that Cornette even pointed that out about ECW. That if they had stuck to the northeast, they would of had it made. Is there a reason ROH can't scale back to being another indy? Stop trying national tours and ppv.

Accusing Paul Heyman of a misdeed? I remember as a kid being really excited for Doc and Gordy, because the magazines pushed them so hard.
-
When did that happen? The go home Raw before Breakdown. King and JR were filing Man on the Moon.
-
You wanna know how good Cornette was on commentary? He carried Shane Mcmahon thru a two hour Raw broadcast. He did everything he could to make Shane sound good. Playing off whatever inane shit Shane was saying and using it to build the match.

No you think it is good and are lying to yourself. There is a lot I enjoy about the movie. I thought it did a good job building to the fight at the end, which is all that matters in action movie. It has some pacing issues, with too much shit that does not involve Zeus or Rip destroying things. I love the movie and I'm not going to pretend I don't think its good. It has some problems, but generally it had its heart in the right place. I love it for the movie it was trying to be. -
If someone does not think Demolition is as great/good as I do, I can respect that. But if you think they sucked, you don't know what you are talking about. I mean there is really nothing you can use against them. They have perfect timing and pacing. They know how to make things like chinlocks look painful. They are really working the hold and not killing time. They have a nice set of double teams, they bust out semi regularly. Now some might say something about the clubbering. Personally I love it and it was over with the fans. I think it added to the matches by giving the illusion of movement. I think they were loaded with charisma and had tremendous presence in the ring. I think the Brain Busters, Hart Foundation, Bulldogs* and Rockers** had their best matches with Demolition. * If the Bulldogs/Demos match from MSG had a better finish, I would have no problem saying it was great. **At the very least it was their best WWF match. Personally I think that MSG match is one of the best WWF tag matches ever.

UHF and No Holds Barred picked a bad summer to come out in. Between Batman, Ghostbusters 2 and Indiana Jones 3. -

I bought it Tuesday and I loved it as much as I did when I was a kid. I really loved all the stuff involving the fighting, the romantic stuff seemed really tacked on. Even by action movie standards. I think the reason I loved it so much as a kid is that it was an 80s action film, made especially for kids. -
Considering that Nash spent the next month burying the fuck out of Rey and even unmasking him, I'd say that win didn't help Mysterio at all. Even on the rare occasions he did important jobs, Big Sexy always managed to somehow make them meaningless in hindsight. That was post unmasking. He did beat Rey at Uncensored, but needed Luger to do it. Rey also pinned Bam Bam Bigelow and Scott Norton cleanly.

I think its because they were being phased out. Smash was due to be Repo Man and Crush was leaving.
-
They're awesome, cool face paint and gear with the aura they might do more than beat their opponents.

Don't you remember they were bad because Demolition were not doing Fire Thunder Drivers and Space Flying Tiger Drops. -

He has a hand in the decision making process, and clearly he shouldn't. EDIT: As for the rest, fuck it, I'm too depressed to care. -

No they didn't. Better team than the Rockers. Sad you are getting to work on the 80s WWF set when you can't even recognize the best WWF teams. -
I wouldn't use that night as an example of anyone's typical work, since it was all too obvious that the announcers were ordered to go out there and bicker with each other as much as possible. JR was trying to be relatively neutral and call it down the middle, but everyone else was arguing like a bunch of lawyers on crack. Tazz was trying his best to get both guys over and Joey was hard selling the PPV. Lawler spent every ounce of his energy on burying the ECW guys. Which was really stupid when they were trying to get ECW over as a brand and selling a PPV. I mean at one point he was looking for stuff to bury. I have never seen a guy work so hard to derail a show. Even Cole will shut up when a great match is going on.
-
Shane was really good. He got himself and the other wrestlers over while managing to rein in Joey Styles.
-
I was watching the Sabu/Cena match from before the second One Night Stand. Lawler was fucking awful on commentary. Worse than Cole has ever been. At one point when the match has gotten really good, he is struggling to find things to bury.

Dusty and Tony were a great team on Saturday Night. They got the storylines over and had fun doing it.
