  1. For a guy that's pretty big, Villano IV can go on the match. This wasn't what I was expecting after the earlier trios matches. I wouldn't say it's on the level of Panther/Santo but it's still a good indie mat match. No shenanigans from the seconds either.
  2. Shocker continues to have a hell of a month where he's now feuding with Villano. He attacks poor Villano and even the ref. My favorite part of this was Ciclon and Bombero. Bombero bleeds and Ciclon does a crazy tope where it looks like he's taking out the crowd along with Bombero. Fun match that set up feuds.
  3. For an 11 minute match, this had a lot of action. First fall was all about the rudos beating up the tenicos. Bestia was slapping Tarzan Boy liked he owed him money. The tecnicos come back in the second fall with each of the guapos throwing the other in the ring to get beat down. Third fall was much of the same. The crowd is really starting to boo Tarzan.
  4. God Togo is awesome in this. So fast for a guy his size doing pedigrees and RKO's out of nowhere. I'm impressed that Buffalo can keep on that hat on his mask. Los Supers were good tecnicos in this too but it was all Togo. Fun match.
  5. This was chaotic. Mascara and Perro go at it. Perro bleeds so much he has to hold hit scar tissue on his forehead together at the end of the match. Atlantis/Satanico is always good and this was no different. Olimpico gets injured somehow and Apollo Dantes is just there. Good stuff.
  6. I was expecting this to be more of a brawl but it was worked title match style which I guess makes sense. Rudos attack Villano 3's knee and Villano 4 does the RKO better than Orton. Shocker is having a hell of a month in May. Good match.
  7. OK match but not too exciting. Suicida and calo do some good stereo dives in the third fall into the crowd. This match was very rudo heavy. Cerebro and Bombero were good at it, Kung Fu Jr. not so much.
  8. I love that these Monterrey matches are put into parts. You have the comedy with Parka, the brawling with Santo/Panther Tarzan/Shocker and the normal wrestling with Bestia and Antifaz. These matches are almost always fun. Panther sticks Santo's leg into the ringside chairs and attacks him. The crowd starts to huddle around Santo in a scene that you only see in Mexico. Shocker is pushed to the moon going over Tarzan. Loved Bestia in this with his bumping and selling. Bestia might be one of the more underrated guys in Lucha. Parka was awesome in this too with his comedy. Not as good as the one a week later but still really good.
  9. Tarzan has had a hell of a year between this and the Satanico feud. Great stuff in this match with both guys working the mat early and then brawling later. Only bad thing about this match was the camera missing highspots because they are focusing on the crowd too much. Really good match.
  10. This was classic Monterrey wrestling. A mix of comedy w/ porky, great wrestling with Santo and Panther and rudo refs. Loved how Panther and Santo didn't touch until the second fall. Some real good lucha in the first fall between Zumbido and Antifaz. This was Antifaz's home so you know he's motivated. Finally when Panther and Santo get together, the match kicks up a not. Santo unmasks Panther where prety much his whole face is shown. The dive section in the third fall is nuts. Santo does his beautiful rolling dive and even Porky does a tope. Great match.
  11. Rachel/marti was much worse live than on TV. They edited it lot. Glad I got to see these shows in person cause jr is such a buzzkill on these shows. Plus they muted the crowd heat a lot. Especially for the jazzy match. As for comparing this to cwc, guys like Kenneth Johnson, Anthony Bennett and the Bollywood boys were way worse than the green females. I thought most of them did well. Was really impressed with sage and xia.
  12. I love that the Villanos have multiple feuds in multiple promotions. Still weird to see Pimpi in a non AAA match. Pimpi can go on the mat and not have to depend on comedy too much. Not sure who Enterrador is but he was ok but not compared to the oher wrestlers. Third fall is Panther's group going after Villano 3's injured ribs which is nice continuity. Good IWRG main event without the blood .
  13. I think Perro starts bleeding for even getting hit. This was like one of those old man duels where everyone is drunk and just beating each other up. Pierroth is great at this type of match. Mascara gets hit with a blatant low blow and Villano is just beating the rudos up. Not much to say about this but worth watch if you like the guys.
  14. Quick but fun match. The Guapos are in Army gear for the first fall. Tecnicos have some fun dives including tarzan boy doing a crazy one from the top turnbuckle to the floor. Tarzan also gets dropped on his head by Zumbido and Shocker with what looked like a H bomb type move. Scorpio's acne is sickening. Good stuff.
  15. Seeing Cima and Super Calo work together is a treat. Calo could still go and Cima is pretty much game for anything. The head scissors to the outside by Calo on Cima in the third fall was sick. However, my favorite part of this match was Cerebro and Ramirez. Just crisp wrestling and a crazy dive into the crowd by Ciclon in the third. Long but fun match.
  16. This was pretty bad. We start off with the Vipers tearing down a poster of the AAA show on the mean streets of Tijuana. Abismo tries to set it on fire but to no avail. As for the match, Canek is wearing a weird kickboxer outfit. This is mostly the seconds (Oscar Sevilla Torero ElectoShock and Abismo Negro) beating up each other. Abismo throws a fireball at canek and the los Vatos Locos enter to help out Canek. Really poor match with the guys tripping over the chain and hardly any blood. The fire spots weren't sold much until Picudo showed up with real fire.
  17. OK tv match. Infernales are still working great as a team. This was one of those rare times where Felino outworked Negro casas. He looked so crisp at everything he did here. Same can't be said about Antifaz who botched a dive and Bucanero made him pay for it.
  18. Haven't really done anything with her since Maria left. There was the Sienna feud and now Braxton is doing a savage/Elizabeth angle with her. GFW isn't as bad as TNA was. There are still problems like shitty authority figures, questionable gimmicks but the worst is the dead crowd. I know why they tape at Universal but GFW will never get on the next level until they leave Universal. It kills the product dead. Now that they are adding in canned heat again, it makes it look even worse. They got good talent but none of them mean more than people like Bruce, Cornette and the Jarretts.
  19. This is the Alushe show and that's fine with me. Wagner tries to throw him in the stage area but Tienblas sr. saves him. Warrior's dive is outstanding in the first fall. Wagner almost causes a riot throwing Alushe on the table. Pierroth run in was cool. I remember he kidnapped Alushe once I think in Monterrey. Match isn't much but it's fun.
  20. I think my favorite thing about this match is it's not the normal lucha title match. The first fall goes almost 10 minutes and the third fall about 5. Chad is right that this is mostly mat based, especially the first fall. You can tell the Negro Navarro influence in these guys. Cerebro is so crisp at everything he does. I haven't seen much Ultimo Vampiro but he was good too. Nice dives that go over the guardrail too. Finish was sick.
  21. What a total bloodbath this was. Scorpio channels Steve Corino as his blonde hair turns red. Lots of hate between these teams and the crowd doesn't not how to react. Villano IV and V get their masks ripped to shreads and Villano 3 does some nice brawling with Scorpio. Really fun IWRG main event match.
  22. That is one hell of a tecnico team. Mike Segura who is a nutty flyer, the future Sensei of CMLL known as Fantasy in IWRG and the legendary Ciclon Ramirez. Fun match with lots of dives and the rudos playing base for those dives really well. Poor Megas taking awful bumps. it's weird to have all these dives happening and the best dive guy in lucha at the time, Ciclon doesn't do one.
  23. Well IWRG currently has a group of Ninja turtles wrestling so I figure they would have star wars guys This started out clunky with the guys being on seperate pages but got better as it went on. You can tell the Japanese guys have potential especially as rudos. Nothing earth shattering happened but it's nice to see indie lucha like this compared to the big 2.
  24. Neutron's looks is outstanding.Olimpico seems to have fallen down on the totem pole working with these guys. Some fun stuff and dives including Neutron moonsault to the outside and almost breaking his ankle. Also enjoyed Rencor tripping Halcon. Good Arena Coliseo match.
  25. Man Infernales are such a great team they don't even take time off. It would be easy to mail it in for these IWRG shows since they aren't CMLL but those guys were on. Especially during the second caida when Rey and Ultimo were bumping all over the place. I liked the end with Ultimo getting unmasked while it looked like he was getting hit with a twilt a whirl backbreaker. Fun match.
