Brian Christopher, Wolfie D, Super Muneco, Super Astro. Those are the 4 I can think of now.

Which CMLL show are you talking about? Fox? Cadena Tres? Puebla? Or do they put all the shows in one?

I went to a local indie tonight that had a War Games match and JJ Dillon was the manager for the babyface team. I've been to a few indie shows this year(FIP, Evolve) but I haven't been to a homegrown Florida indie before. It was interesting to see guys that I go to the gym with that I had no idea were wrestlers. The war games match was fun as it had two rings and actually had some blood. Only guys I knew in it were the Dark City Fight Club that used to be in ROH. JJ Dillon punching out the heel manager was a nice touch. I was also surprised to see a rival promotion put postcards plugging its shows on people's cards. I've seen this happen at NXT/WWE but it seem kinda weak to do that at another indie show. Reminds me of when WWE ran Mania at Orlando and TNA had a video truck at Fan Axxess down the road. Is this common?

Austin Idol. If he had a run in WWF or JCP, I think he would have been a bigger star. Instead he stayed in the south and no showed himself out of a job.

More and more of the impact regulars has invaded Full Sail. The chants and putting themselves over has gotten worse. Itami isn't the only one that gets the racial stuff. Kalisto gets it too. I'd say it's a small section of the crowd but they are the most vocal.

1. Rusev : Best guy in WWE right now since they made Ambrose into a comedy figure and Bryan's still out 2. Hechicero: Even thought I don't like his new look, he's still an amazing wrestler. I gotta get on his match vs Black Terry. 3. Rush: Still the master of CMLL. Love his new gimmick of dressing up with Sombra and Mascara. 4. Jerry Lawler: Finishing up my 1994 USWA watching and even in a down year. he's great. Especially his feud with Sid and Tommy Rich 5.Ray Gonazlez: Getting back into watch WWC and he's getting decent matches out of Hernandez and Ricardo Rodriguez of all people. It's a shame he never got a US run in WWE or WCW.

Gronda/GROON XXX easily. That guy is still going strong to this day. Does Rosa Mendes count?

Apparently at Anniversario this past weekend, Jerry Lawler sent in a video for Chicky Starr's celebration and challenged him to a match in January to crown a true King of Wrestling. If that happens, I can't wait to see it. Has Lawler ever wrestled in Puerto Rico? Also Anniversario looked like it was awful with two straight DQ finishes including one in the hardcore match.

If Becky's gonna be a heel, she needs to get away from Sasha cause from the little I've seen, Sasha is way better WWE type heel. I"ll miss babyface Becky though.

I've been watching a lot of Southern indies from 2000 lately. Mostly Power Pro and Memphis Championship wrestling. MCW was interesting because for the first part of the year, it was pretty racy for a WWF developmental promotion. You had people like Jasmin St. Claire and Al coholic in the company. I know it started as Kick Ass wrestling which took part in bars before Lawler joined after leaving Power Pro. The wrestling isn't very good but towards the end of the year it got better when guys like Regal, American Dragon, Reckless Youth and Spanky showed up. You also had the Mean Street Posse, Big Vis, Tracy Smothers, Truth and Headbanger Thrasher on the roaster too. Regal becoming the mentor to the Posse which leads to Rodney and Pete Gas turning on Joey Abs was pretty good. Truth was feuding with Lawler over Stacy and Lawler also faced Eddie Guerrero which i missed sadly. Even back in 2000, Dragon was great. He had an awesome match with Spanky in September that should be on the yearbook. Power pro 2000 was pretty much a extension of the later years of USWA. Some young guys around in the undercard(Derrick King, Ali and some others) but it was still dominated by guys like Spellbinder, Wolfie D and even Bill Dundee. Lawler came back to Power Pro in 2000 which I believe leads to both promotions have a feud and eventually merging before Power Pro closed in 2001. I've also been watching some OVW 2000 and it was interesting to see Wolfie/Slash work both OVW and Power Pro at the same time. Also Big show feuding with Batista in 2000 is interesting.

Any of the Embry/Rick Valentine vs Super Medicos matches. The DWB matches from Memphis. Also his feud with Lawler. The bad thing about these is most of the full matches were in the Mid South Coiseum and we only have clips. Also the match vs Tully Blanchard in Southwest.

I've been watching some Memphis 2000 lately. Nothing earth shattering but MCW had a good tv match from 9/9 between Spanky and Steven Regal. Lots of WTF stuff from that promotion like the Memphis version of Angle/HHH/Steph with K Krush/Lawler/Stacy, Lance Russell calling Jasmin St claire matches and Lawler vs Eddie Guerrero. I'm not sure if that match aired on TV or not.

Latham went through three or 4 fat guys in 92. Bill Smithson, Cousin Junior, Big Black Dog and I think i'm missing another one. Also there were two Moondog Rex's: Colley and another one in 1994. I like the Moondogs but Will is right, it's hard to pick which version to pick. If it's 1992, top 50 for sure.

I liked the CMLL matches and the match he had with Eddie Colon on WWC. Also had a decent match teaming with Nicho vs the Villano's in Tijuana.
-
Probably cause most guys work for the camera, not the crowd.
-
So after all the build they put into the Ray Gonzalez/Patron match, he won't be there? That's nice. I know the Colons have certain dates they can work with WWC but I found it odd that WWE would let them work a show with Alberto.

Watched three Invader matches tonight based on Dylan's reccomendation. He asked that I post some of my thoughts here so here we go. Invader vs Eric Embry - Had to start with this since Embry is one of my favs. The video says it's from 86 but I think it's from 90 since Invader is unmasked and Embry is bald. Really fun brawl that goes into the stands a couple times. Embry just pinballs like a freak for Invader's awesome punches and does a big bladejob towards the end. Not much of a Invader showcase though. Best part was some old lady trying to trip Embry when he walks back to the ring. Invader vs Bruiser Brody - Watched two matches. One was from PR and was a lot like the Embry match. Went into the crowd and had lots of brawling. Invader looked better in this. Second match was from Trinidad and was kinda boring till the end. I've seen the Kamala/Invader match. I probably watched that a dozen times when I was younger. Just nothing but Kamala chopping Invader. By the way, If you want to see some real good Invader, watch his 2013/2014 heel run. He was cutting the best promos in the business and having decent matches with Savio and Ray Gonzalez.

I loved the short run Koko/Lawler feud in 92 when when Koko represented WWF and just came down to the studio one Saturday morning to answer Lawler's challenge vs any WWF guy. Pissed off Koko Ware is my favorite. Especially when he would just stiff jobbers with a brainbuster or clothesline.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
A few of them got jobs working behind the scenes. I know Graves still works there as a behind the scenes guy. -
Good: 1992 was USWA's best year since probably the mid 80's. The Moondogs/ Lawler feud really helped spike interest in the group. Then you had guys like Brian Christopher and Eric Embry having good feuds and being really entertaining. Also WCW was having great matches week in and week out with the Dangerous Alliance. Bad: Eric Embry getting injured and then turning babyface to face the Moondogs. The babyface turn was good but it didn't last long and then he had the career ending injury. Also the Moondogs/Lawler feud went on too long when it started including guys like Big Black Dog and the King Killer. Ugly: CMLL after Pena left. I love Dandy but some of his singles matches in 92 were disappointing. Also WWF after Mania 8.

Matt you should watch Thatcher vs Blue Demon Jr. next. I've seen Thatcher live twice. Once in a random 4 way and once vs shitty James Raideen at Evolve. I'm a fan but not as big as Bill. He can be a little dry at times but when he's on, it's real good. I like Gulak better.

When I started watching lucha in the early 2000s, Pierroth was all over CMLL in his feud with the Capos and Gran Markus. He was pretty washed up but I enjoyed his brawls. He's also one of the best talkers in lucha history. I doubt he'll make my list but Pierroth is one of my guilty pleasures. It's a shame CMLL is making a mockery of his name these days.

I've watched a ton of 90's Memphis over the years and Lawler is easily the best week to week wrestler I've ever seen. He's not the best technical wrestler but week in and week out, he was consistant. In interviews, , squash matches, the clips that they aired on tv of Mid South Coiseum matches etc. He had to face some guys that were truly awful like Jeff Gaylord, Todd Champion, Max Payne and the list goes on. I'm going to have a hard time not making him number 1 but I got a lot of Japan to watch. It's between him and Savage.
