  1. I just realized something just now posting about Rush in the lucha thread. Andrade made it clear he wants all of his family in AEW eventually and that includes Rush, who he considers a brother. You guys know what that means if he pulls it off? Yeah, you'll get the original Ingobernables in AEW, but it also means there's a very good chance Rush would want to bring in the guy he made a lot of money with around the horn in Mexico. The guy who would complete the "wrestling on TNT and all is right with the world" vibe like Tully, Arn, and Sting. The biggest star in the history of Nitro. LA PARK IN AEW. GIVE THE CHAIRMAN HIS THRONE BACK COACH TONY!
  2. Rush has had a bad knee for a while, but him suddenly needing to get surgery right now (when he dropped the title in a way that made it clear he could have won, and would have been expected to put over the new champ since his contract is up at the end of the year) is a move that somewhere has HBK doing a slow clap. Now can be healed up just in time for his deal to end and bring the OG Ingobernables to AEW. He just "that doesn't work for me, brother"d his way out of ROH.
  3. Drew Mac deserves GOAT status just for normalizing Scottish accents for Vince.
  4. WWE needs to use this wedding angle as the jumping off point for IndDex to have an Addams Family "weird ass married couple who are madly in love with each other" gimmick. I need to see Indi as Morticia for....uhh... scientific reasons.
  5. I actually do like his wrestling, but his entire personality with this "cool Kyle" gimmick is like, industrial sized dork-assedness.
  6. Also, and this needs to be said every time he's on TV, Kyle O'Reilly is a fucking dork.
  7. Charlotte has a history of slapping people in the face when she thinks they aren't cooperating (she did it to Kairi not knowing she was concussed AF) and she did it to Nia right before it looked like they were about to have a hockey fight. Bryan had a pretty good breakdown of what he thought happened and it makes sense: 1. Nia, either on her own or because she was told to, decided to work more like a monster because she was going over. In the process, she does what she's known for and nearly drops Charlotte on her head. 2. After the above happening and Nia deciding to basically no sell a pin attempt, Charlotte was clearly pissed at what she had to think was Nia either being sloppy/trying to big time her. She takes the opportunity to deliver a slap that looked like it had some zest on it. 3. Nia tagged her with some not-shoot-but-harder-than-worked punches, ie the Brock Lesnar "Calm the Fuck Down" Special. Charlotte didn't seem to get the memo and looked like she was going to square up and Nia had a "is this b for real?" face and the next few moments were just them half trying to do a cooperative match and half on defense in case shit goes down. In hindsight, putting the sloppy worker in with the worker who gets pissed to the point of slapping face if things don't go to plan wasn't the best idea. In another era, Bill Watts would send Meiko a plane ticket to Orlando along with a Disney Pass that just happened to have Nia's training schedule on it.
  8. I don't really think AEW would be clamoring for Nia unless she promised Cousin Dwayne would show up.
  9. Two interesting developments today: 1. Bryan said on the WOL show that numerous people from within WWE contacted him and said Nia/Charlotte was what it looked like, they got mad at each other and got uncooperative with each other until cooler heads prevailed and they finished working the match. 2. Asuka posted a photo of her at the dentist announcing she finally got the teeth replaced she got knocked out a while back, while rocking a big ass arm sling/brace combo. So I suppose that explains why she's been AWOL.
  10. A big part of what makes Kenny Omega so great in the ring is he can match anyone's style in the world and have the best possible match that opponent could have. Sasha seems to have that trait as well. She's been so many other people's best match at this point it's crazy.
  11. Y'know, Adam Cole might be the most professional guy in the biz right now. He could have really fucked the company over since they were stupid and didn't realize his deal was up prior to the show he as main eventing, he could have gone full Jeff Jarrett and asked for a huge payday to show up...hell he could have just said FU and really pantsed them by showing up on Dynamite while NXT was still promoting the match, but he signed a month extension so the show would be covered and did his job (literally and figuratively) like a pro.
  12. Like of all people to cape for to get internet points, Nia Jax though? It seems like a lot of people are taking Dave's report of it being an attempt at a worked shoot at face value, which, ok whatever, but that doesn't explain Nia dropping Charlotte like a sack of potatoes on multiple occasions. "BUT SHE'S JUST WORKING STIFF!!" Motherfucker, WALTER works stiff and as far as I know he's never hurt anyone outside of turning people's chest skin into hamburger meat.
  13. I guess now it's bad to point out that Nia is a sloppy mess that hurts people and nearly got into a shoot fight on live TV and doing so makes you a misogynist ? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Surely people would have the same reaction if a match with two dudes broke down like this?
  14. Seems like I could see three possible reasons here: 1. The company realized how stupid the segment with Alexa and Charlotte looked and hit eject. That would require self awareness WWE has not normally shown, so this seems the least likely. 2. It got caught in the tornado of Vince tossing the script in the air, which is certainly a strong possibility. Normally protected acts are spared much of the wrath tho. 3. Charlotte realized how stupid the segment with Alexa looked and pulled the "that doesn't work for me, brother" card when the company is desperately trying to keep her from joining the rest of her family in AEW. Andrade publicly stating he wants her to come with him was the best thing for her career. She doesn't even have to do anything to make them jump at her command. They KNOW she has options and doesn't have do put up with shit.
  15. My man MVP getting himself in the main event, respect the hustle.
  16. Yes, that def. gave me kitao/tenta vibes. Both of them were like "you wanna do this?" and then both seemed to be realizing they knew it wouldn't be smart (but not sure the other one was thinking that).
  17. HOw can a guy who has more drip out of the ring than anyone else in WWE like Omos have ring gear like his luggage got lost and he's making the best of what he had?
  18. Yeah either they worked the piss out of me or they were about to start legit throwing bombs at each other like Frye/Takiyama. Not to mention it looked like Nia just blanked on the next series of spots to the point Charlotte seemed to have a seemingly real "wtf?" face.
  19. At some point, we need to find out at what point did WWE change all their belts to use velcro, complete with fake snaps on one side. That shit makes them look super cheap, like they bought all their belts at the merch stand.
  20. Tony actually mentioned this on the interview he did with Dave and Garrett, he said if things get bad again they do have a contingency plan in place but he hopes they don't ever have to use it.
  21. WWE announced their latest Performance Center class, and it looks like in addition to the usual WWE requirements you can add "related to someone" as a key thing they are looking for since their class includes: Gable Steveson's brother which seems like a clear "please sign with us" move Bull Buchanan's son The Usos' little brother NBA legend Darryl Dawkins' nephew who was a student of D'Von Dudley
  22. Yeah it seems like the original tweet was a concern troll aiming to get a reaction from Brandi since she's so easily gotten to, and mission accomplished.
  23. All NYC is asking is proof of vaccination, so it's not like it's anything draconian to sane people.
  24. Lucha payoffs pretty much work like they did in the old days, a percentage of the house based on your position on the card. Plus hair/mask match losers tend to get a bigger than normal payoff as well. Also a lot of lucha shows tend to be sponsored so some of what people get come from that. CMLL's problem is that they were running empty arena shows so folks were probably getting paid next to nothing, which wouldn't be a deal breaker in lucha except they won't let anyone take outside bookings and expect them to be happy with the crumbs. Also people politically connected like UG get taken care of which only further inflames feelings
  25. There were also reports Impact was bring in Braun Strowman, and while I'm sure they very much would like that, he was asking astronomical amounts to indy promoters sniffing around. Then again every time Impact signs a relatively known name I have a Joe Swanson style "HOW DO YOU AFFORD THESE THINGS?" moment. I think AEW should basically use Impact as their NXT, have guys/girls who were jobbed out or misused go there to get the failure stench off them and if it turns out they have something, have them come swing by Dynamite and see if they catch on.
