Speaking of, here's a pic of some real Ungovernables: (also why does Ric look so healthy in IRL pics but looks like he's moments away from death on WWE TV?)
-
WWE three ways annoy me because 99% of time it's the "one guy hits their finish, the other guy steals the pin" that was creative the first time but not after the billionth time. Everyone in WWE having to hit a pose on the stage like a video game character. It's even worse when most of the women seemingly have to do some sort of sexy pose which seems shoehorned in just to pop the old man. Dana Brooke's cartwheel thing she does in hers is pretty cool, I will give them that.
-
It *is* taken more serious in Mexico, commissions have been known to shut down shows for not following the rules. Of course those are indy shows and not CMLL or AAA.
-
This is true but it's also widely known you can get around it by either paying the commission off or just wear a mask that is slightly different. Silver King did this when he decided to start wearing his mask again.
-
Yeah they made the point that the dude was an asshole, there really wasn't much more needed to say. I suppose you could argue they should have mentioned more about Dana becoming an ambassador/employee and having the balls to try to make him some sort of Pride icon despite.....everything...... but I could see them not wanting to get into a pissing contest with her and/or WWE over it.
-
The kicker is that Dave mentioned that at the time Warrior's first wife called him at the hotel with another woman, he was traveling with Melanie Pillman (she wasn't Pillman yet of course).
-
He's got talent and potential, but he's one of those guys where things just haven't clicked yet for him.
-
Wato wasn't setting the world on fire when he was in CMLL either. Excursions can only help so much, if there's not much to work with it won't matter if they spend their time on the moon.
-
Yeah but pretty much all the really good wrestlers they produced was before the modern NXT/PC era. I'm struggling to come up with anyone who went through their current training system and came out really good.
-
One of the guys who did their excursion in CMLL (I want to say it was Naito but I could be wrong) said being in an environment vastly different both wrestling wise and culturally was a big part of his growth as a wrestler.

WWE TV 05/24 - 05/30 Ja Morant is the greatest person in Memphis ever

Also watching Smackdown, and Roman was fucking fantastic in that segment where he told Jey he didn't want him to go back to being the guy people ask "which one are you?". Who would have thought after everything he went through as a babyface that his career refining character arc would be "Samoan Tony Soprano"? -
Welp. On commercial breaks the FITE.TV feed stays on the announcers, and apparently the Spanish announcers were making fun of Shida with the usual "japanese people speaking english poorly with no L's and R's" racist bit and it blew up on Twitter.

Yeah he's basically the guy who got them the Fox deal and the Peacock deal. Each one legit worth a billion. He's leaps and bounds the best business guy WWE's had in ages, and it seems like it didn't take long for Vince to give him the keys. Which I don't blame him for doing, all he seems to do is make money. I'd let him do whatever he wants if I was Vince too. -

Almost makes you feel bad for poor Hunter. He put all that work in to replace Shane as Vince's #1 son, got his own vanity promotion, placed himself to just slide into the big chair when the time comes.....then Big Daddy Nick comes in and makes more things happen in a year than he's done in 20. -
Holy shit, that was how you do closing angle on a go-home show.
-
I'm glad they realized the best use of Miro is having him beat up little dudes.
-
I love it.... "Maybe Mox can be an EVP!" "I don't want it...no"
-
Loving Paul Wight's homage to Red Shoes.
-
lol Cody in front of a crowd with this gimmick is gonna be interesting.
-
Darby first guy out in front of a real crowd is a smart move.
-
Touche, but to be fair that was because Vince Jr quit the NWA which New Japan was a part of.
-
I mean, WWF and New Japan did work together back in the day, and while it was a million years ago the same guy's still in charge (I know VKM wasn't technically in charge yet but I believe he was functionally running things toward the end of Vince Sr's life).
-
Have to give Jim credit when it's due, he pretty much nailed it on the Dark Side episode re: Warrior. He couldn't work or talk but he had a body that looked like a million bucks and had the greatest promoter ever pushing him and that was pretty much all there was to it.
-
It actually does seem the talks started in part to give Bryan the opportunity to work in New Japan without leaving WWE.
-
I can imagine the Young Lions seeing how training is done at the PC and enraging WWE by laughing at it. Or even better WWE trying to pull a power play and demand NJPW use the PC for trainees only to have Shibata show up and slap the shit out of everyone in the building.
