On one hand I could see him doing that since he's like Jake in the sense that when he's sober he has a good business mind. On the other, I could see working a never-ending gig like that being the thing that sets him back down the path again. Who knows, maybe he's one of those guys who needs to keep busy to avoid trouble, I'd like to see him get rewarded for the turnaround he's been able to pull off.

To paraphrase the WWE Creative parody account on Twitter: between Sting, Hogan, and the nWo this was a great episode of Nitro.

It went unnoticed because it was on Impact and no one watches Impact anymore, but MVP had the line of the night when he told Lashley if it wasn't for him he'd still be in the other company dancing to Gospel music right now. Actually, it gets lost in all the LOL TNA stuff but MVP was pretty good in every segment he was in last week.

It always struck me as a bit disingenuous, but Vince's tweet about MLK being a hero of his was especially funny considering the hottest free agent in wrestling got that way because of racists in WWE.
-
It wasn't his fault they made him #30, he was being booed because the crowd was pissed at the company and he happened to be the guy they sent out. It wasn't like he was trying to generate heel heat, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He did deserve better, and it really showed even more how out of touch the company was to send him out there like a sacrificial lamb since they obviously didn't think anything bad would happen.

I don't even think its a matter of people being offended, it's more of someone who may not already be the most enlightened opinions vis-a-vie race somehow looking at MMA as a way to validate said opinions. MMA fans have (not completely unfairly) earned the rep of being largely Affliction shirt wearing bros who wouldn't be the most accepting of a guy like Jon Jones. It's also funny that Ali-Frazier was mentioned as a comparison, when I'm pretty sure Ali expressed regret at some of the Uncle Tom style comments he made that looking back were below the belt.

The would not have booed if Bryan was defending the belt, since that would mean he was champ and as such negate the whole point of the booing. Don't forget the title match got shit on just as bad if not worse than the Rumble, to the point Orton had one of his famous temper tantrums.
-
The crowd really thought Bryan lost the opener to Wyatt because he was going to be in the Rumble, that's why Rey got booed at #30. Then they were hot again when it came down to Reigns and Batista since there was a chance Roman would have won, it was really an "Anyone But Batista" atmosphere. The moment he won the mood immediately switched to "fuck this shit" and everyone let the company know.

Used the PS3 exclusively until I got my Roku streaming stick a few months ago and now that's the main source. I watch via PC at work when it's slow since somehow WWE.com has managed to elude the sometimes random content blocker my company uses.

I also really really love this match. Is it just me or does it seem like Pat Patterson is one of the most underrated guys around? It's weird because everyone is on board that he's good, but whenever you watch a match of his it's like "wow this is really fucking good". I guess it's either a case of there not being a lot of footage available since his California stuff is all but lost, or most people's memories still are of him as part of the Stooges, but it's always a surprise how good he was in the ring. (also it makes them not putting old (W)WWF MSG shows up on the Network more frustrating since there's bound to be a few gems in there to be found)

Per the last Bryan and Dave show, there's been talk that the Sami-Owens match is happening sooner than later (the February NXT special) because there's been talk of Sami getting the call to the main roster.

Man, it's a psychologist's wet dream that Kevin "no ugly or old people on my TV shows" Dunn is the only one with no photo.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

I get the Bray comparisons since it's recent, but it seems like they are doing the old Kevin Sullivan Florida gimmick with less overt Satan stuff. -
They clearly don't have the first clue how to promote this thing. They spend so much time hammering the price, but they never tell you what you get for it other than PPVs and historic RAW moments (half of which aren't even up yet). It never seems to occur to them the price doesn't matter if you don't tell people what they get.
-
I get the feeling the "rumor mill" in question about a heel turn was Bryan stating he was convinced that was the plan after all the bad promos and Dave saying as far as he's heard there's no such plans.
-
So it looks like they can't show Main Event since the deal for the UK WWE Network gives Sky exclusive rights, so either they have to work something out or create an entirely separate network just for the UK. Just when you think they can't bungle this any more.
-
So then he must be doing good? I think part of the problem is folks forgetting heels are (or at least were) supposed to be unlikable, and when someone does that now it's seen as a turnoff. I think it's another log for the idea that the Attitude Era killed wrestling by making it so all heels have to be cool.

The First Look piece on the Randy Savage DVD is excellent. What really struck me is how many of Randy's friends they were able to track down since he always struck me as a guy who didn't have a large circle. I guess being in pro wrestling your whole life will make you paranoid. Also his mom looked great for being 86 years old, that family seems to age at 1/4 the normal human rate.

No one's going to sound natural and relaxed reading a script written by an old man who everyone's afraid to tell is out of touch.

There's literally zero evidence to back up any claims that Dixie is smart. Destination America may be no better, Bryan related on the B&V show last night he emailed them to ask what other platforms TNA would be available on and they told him to contact his local library. -
Haven't there been rumblings that WWE was looking to part ways with Lawler soon? I think there was a mention in the thread on the WON board where Mike Sempervive passes questions on to someone in WWE where it was implied they may not be renewing his deal when it ends. I could see going to Smackdown as the start of those preparations.

Not to mention last year when crowds everywhere, not just in the big markets, rejected babyface Batista. Also, this past Raw was in Corpus Christi, which is traditionally a hot wrestling town. And the crowd was dead as a doornail for most of the night and particularly at the end. They're determined they're going to get their handpicked guy over in Reigns and all they're doing is repeating what happened with The Rock when he debuted. The difference here though is Reigns doesn't have that presence and charisma that The Rock has. Alvarez's radio show this past Tuesday had a section where they were one of the guys was watching the Flair/Rhodes Rivalries episode and how amazing the promos/interviews were between those two. You'd think it would behoove these guys to review their video libraries and focus on the stuff that worked then repackage it into today's world - especially if you're going to try to push a guy like Reigns who desperately needs help right now... Seems like the only thing WWE ever uses its history and/or library for is to illustrate how the current roster sucks compared to all the cool people who used to be in wrestling.

It's pretty amazing that for a guy in Cena who will never turn heel, they've pretty much turned him heel on all but the most die hard 6 year old Cena fans. Hell, they've booked Cena as a better heel than most of the actual heels they have.
-
Seriously, wtf was that ending segment? I'm as sick of Superman Cena as everyone else but the guy is still your ace and you book an entire three hour show around making him look like an enormous asshole.
-
As I said before, if they put half the effort into booking that they do being trolls to mean internet people, WWE TV would be awesome right now.
