Damn that sucks. Although it's somehow fitting the end of the feud is delayed by a Ciampa injury just as the beginning of feud was delayed by a Ciampa injury
  5. This episode is dedicated to King Kong ("Big Daddy") Bundy. RIP Episode 61 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-62 June 11, 1983 (WCCW 76) The boys review one of the most well-regarded matches in WCCW history, a wild and unique 8-man elimination match between the Von Erich's/Iceman and the Freebirds/Jimmy Garvin! Also on the show... -Chris Adams hits a superkick off the TOP ROPE!!! (take that, 2019 wrestling) -Poolside with the 'Birds -Ken Johnson: The Man Who Doesn't Exist -And Kerry's mystery partner is revealed!...in the lamest possible way
  6. I'm presuming just a quick squash for a nice pop since Roman missed out being booked in a big match this year. At least I hope to God it will be
  7. Bundy was great in 82-83 World Class. It was his first push and he came in as a babyface ("Big Daddy" Bundy from Alaska, complete with jeans and a rope belt) but soon turned heel and actually became quite good on promos right away. He was part of the main event mix the whole time and was involved in several big matches and angles. He also impressed me when revisiting his 80s WWF work in recent years. The Hogan injury angle was so well done and he was a major heel for them for most of his run. RIP I would also like to put out a call to the fine folks at this site for footage of a match between Bundy and Giant Baba from the 6/17/83 WCCW Star Wars card. The footage we do have of that show doesn't include that match but I thought maybe a Japanese film crew was there to film it for All Japan TV and it's out there somewhere. We are reviewing that show on World Cast shortly and would love to be able to pay tribute to Bundy by talking about that match. It was his last in the territory. Thanks
  8. Beefcake had a pretty solid run as an over star from 85-90, especially of course the Barber years. Definitely a HoF guy by WWE standards
  9. Worked shoot stuff like the Twitter war can work because when done sparingly it feels real. WCW did so much of it in a short period of time that nothing stood out and all it did was confuse viewers and turn them off

So is Lee vs Dijakovic. It was a top to bottom great show, like most weeks lately

Holy fuck the pop for Sasha and Bailey returning to Full Sail sounded like the Sportatorium at the peak of the Von Erich's Beautiful moment
  12. Episode 60 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-61 June 4, 1983 (WCCW 75) This territory is so friggin' hot right now. Hot feuds, hot talent, and hot crowds mixed with top-notch TV production equals a great product. The only glaring weakness is the commentary. Always the God damn commentary... Oh well, this week the boys look at: -Chris Adams kickin' some ass, but still stuck in the curtain jerker -Kamala vs Johnny Rich: Replace J-O-H-N-N with T-O-M-M and this would be a killer match -David Von Erich and Bill Mercer ride horses together...um...yeah -Kerry Von Erich vs Michael Hayes, and it's not even the main event! Because... -David vs Garvin for the held up Texas heavyweight title IS the main event!
  13. Please let that exist
  14. That's who I'm interested in seeing. Is the Comiskey Park footage with Heenan and the Sheik new? Edit: Never mind, it's on YouTube. Surprised I haven't watched it before. Or maybe I have lol
  15. Episode 59 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-60 May 28, 1983 (WCCW 74) The boys are back in Big-D, and they welcome Bill Mercer's shiny new mustache to the show! Will this finally be the right look for Bill? Could be. In addition, the boys want to talk a little wrestling, including... -Chris Adams' struggle to find relevance in the territory -The "Captain's Match". Um, Okay -And one hell of a main event, with the Freebirds taking on Kevin, David and the Iceman!
  16. What did Paige say exactly?
  17. Really good show other than Corbin/Strowman. Main was great
  18. Actually four separate runs. He left in early 83 and returned in 85 Early 60s Early-mid 70s Early 80s Mid 80s
  19. Cool. Thanks for finally solving that mystery
  20. And yes, based on what I've seen of him around that time he was still pretty good
  21. Yeah, but he was fucking Lou Thesz
  22. I dunno, I found the 9/1/73 card on Wrestlingdata and it lists Thesz vs Valentine https://www.wrestlingdata.com/index.php?befehl=shows&show=158040
  23. WWE dating something wrong is as much a certainty as death and taxes
  24. Oh man, that Valentine vs Thesz match could be awesome
  25. One of the most underrated top stars in wrestling history IMO. He was also huge in California in the 60s. Definitely one of the greatest draws in the history of NYC wrestling. As for matches, the one that dropped on the Network vs Blackjack Mulligan, his first title defense at MSG, is a great representation of how over Pedro was in that city. Just crazy nuclear heat. In the early 80s he had great matches at MSG with Patera, Slaughter and the Texas Death with Muraco, but he also had plenty of stinkers during that time. He also rocked the iconic, one of a kind, two-toned orange trunks night in night out. He must've had dozens of pairs lol. RIP
