  1. I read about this early today. I'll stick with the third tier if this actually happens.
  2. I thought I would hate this. It was actually pretty damn funny. Good stuff.

  4. I think it matters to know what happened before if you are watching an important match of a feud. If it's just a one off its not going to make a difference. There are always exceptions of course. I personally always keep in the back of mind the timeframe and compare it to other stuff from that time period only. That's why I always hate the saying "the match doesn't hold up". I'm guilty of it too, I just try to refrain from it.
  5. It matters to me. It doesn't need to be clean necessarily. What I do want if it isn't clean is at least clever or logical in keeping a guy strong or the start of a new feud. Post match stuff definitely matters. It's all part of the match IMO and should be treated as such.
  6. I'm sure it's different for everybody. I personally always wanted to see the High Flyers vs Brody/Hansen along with any of the Funks vs Bulldogs matches after they made the jump from NJPW to AJPW.
  7. I agree. That has been one of my biggest disappointments since the brand split.
  8. Yes.
  9. I don't think there was anyway this match could live up to the hype I had for it. A 33 year build up will do that sort of thing. I liked it. The opening like has been mentioned was great with the early arm work by Buzz. Rich bleeding before the 4 minute mark was exactly what I wanted to see in a cage match blowing off a feud of this magnitude. I didn't like how Rich kind of no sold all the arm work the the rest of the match. Maybe a second watch will make me notice it differently. Both Rich and Buzz bumping into the cage was not as violent as I wanted it to be. Camera angle possibly gave it this effect. It becomes more noticeable when Ellering comes out and does a better job of it when he wrestles Ole. The both do a good job with a sense of struggle and desperation throughout the match. The finish seemed maybe a minute or two premature. I guess I would rather have it that way than too long or seem predictable. I will certainly watch this again as I still think I was so shocked it was being aired to begin with. I also wish we had more footage of Ellering after this as I thought he did a great job.
  10. Thanks for the heads up on this. That's a great price. I'll look for it later today on there.
  11. That might be the best match review ever by Matt D. Great read.
  12. That was amazing. I never saw that before. Very interesting. Too bad the volume cut out during the fire dance. I wanted to hear if the crowd started turning on that as well despite it being pretty cool. He was definitely more talented than Snuka in the regard.
  13. Studio shows. I always disliked them in the 80's. Give me the JCP Worlwide or Pro shows over the studio. Same goes for Memphis,as I preferred the arena clips over the studio. I grew up on the AWA which had a studio show and I was so glad once they went to the Tropicana and then the Showboat. Such a better look. I just never cared for the atmosphere of 50 fans in that small of a setting. Maybe that's why to this day I love World Class despite its flaws. As the Sportatorium was second to none.
  14. Well at least they didn't go with the WWE World title and the WWE Heavyweight title. Universal sounds less confusing if anything.
  15. Thanks for posting that High Flyers vs Dory/KVE match. I always wanted to see that one before.
  16. Fot Indy posters you could try Google image. Sometimes the image might be big enough where you could print it up poster size at Walgreens or some other place. I've done this for video game posters for my kid's walls and they come out pretty good.

  19. Okay. We we're more in the middle. That type of language is just ridiculous especially with an all ages show. Fortunately I didn't hear anything like that. Hopefully they put a stop to it as they do have a nice product. Maybe with you making them aware of it they will keep an eye out for it. Wrestling wise I would say it's one of the better Indys with good production.
  20. What section was that in if you don't mind me asking? I was there and didn't hear anything like that where I was at. I did leave with my wife before the last match, not sure if it was during that time. That really sucks that you had to endure that during a show. Indy shows in general do seem to attract some assholes though. Being in a bar I guess doesn't help. Edit - I just reread your post and saw that it was during that Main Event. That's why I didn't hear it. I did think their security kind of sucked. Hopefully they will reply to you.
  21. Overall I liked the list. RNR as #1 was my choice as well. Glad to see them get that spot. Would of liked to see the match recommendations posted for every team. I sent at least 2 for every team I voted for. I wanted to see some others I didn't know about possibly, especially for the teams I didn't vote for. Great job to the ones who took the time to post all of tag team lists. It was fun to look at everyday.
  22. The 24/7 version of Wrestlerock was also missing the Rockers vs Rose/Somers. Not sure why as they did put it on one of the Shawn DVD sets.
  23. No your thinking of the 8/30/86 bloodbath match which was in Vegas as well. That actually might be my favorite tag match of all time. I looked it up and the cage matches I was referring to were the 12/25/86 in St. Paul and the Vegas one was 1/17/87. They are both pretty great. The formula for the Vegas one is more of a typical face in peril where the other had the Rockers beating the crap out of Rose and Somers from the get go until they turn it around. Interesting formula in that one.
  24. I'll second the Rockers vs Rose and Somers. I still can't make up my mind on which one is better as they are both so different. If I had to choose I would go with the Vegas one ( forgot what the date is on that). I also enjoy the RNR vs The Andersons from Starrcade 86. The complete version that is on the Network is excellent. The clipped version that was the only one we had until the Network pretty much cut out Morton's great selling. Nobody took a shot to the cage better that Morton. Another personal fave is the Steiners vs Money Inc. from 1993. The match is limited due to the era of no blood, but they work hard and have some unique spots. Believe it or not IRS outworks DiBiase in this one.
  25. I'm going to the AAW show next Friday and sure as hope it's not 4 hours. I can't stand that venue as it is and they only have 7-8 matches as it stands. 2.5 hours is about right to me for an Indy show. Even that can be too long at times. For WWE or WCW back in the day I could usually handle 3 hours. Really anything more than 3 is just too much and that goes for baseball, hockey, football, etc, for me.
