Dylan, weekend is here. Throw some PR at me.

Who has the trifecta as a HOF candidate?
WingedEagle replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Pro Wrestling
Really terrific info here. Great to hear this fleshed out and only a shame more details at this level aren't available throughout history. -
Late-90s or 00s Funk will not impact his ranking for me. Big believer that you don't judge Willie Mays by the Mets years or Jordan on the Wizards.

Exile on Badstreet #3 = The Rebirth of the Indies
WingedEagle replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I finally got through this recently and enjoyed the hell out of it even though my familiarity with many of the groups discussed is limited to reading about them in the Observer. I know the name Rob Naylor from this board, but his enthusiasm is infectious and ropes you in even when its a subject you're not even hot for. Good times. -
Reports are out that Verne Gagne passed away this evening. Arguably one of the oldest living legends in the business, I'm looking forward to reading extensive recaps of his career and influence. Meltzer should be on top of his game here as with this taking place on a Monday night he's got about as long a window as possible to put together the obit.

Throw some at me and I'll try to make time for a few this week.

Not closing the book on PR at all, as I've liked the Hansen stuff I've seen there and even some insanity with Colon & Abby. This didn't make the grade, though I fully recognize that the gimmick is an incredibly difficult one to make exciting beyond a couple teases and the climactic bump. Give me blood and weapons and crowds that look like they may burn down the city and I will likely be a happy man.

2 good things about the main event: 1) It didn't run long like a Raw main event so despite not being a good match and a shit finish, I got to bed at a more respectable time. 2) Tonight's Monday so we can start over.

Feels like the worst Rollins PPV match we've gotten. This is a bad Orton night thus far.

I fucking hate Big Show. But that was the best match of his I've seen in I don't know how long, perhaps ever. Impressive showing.

Brie is the most annoying manager in quite some time. Don't need her shrieking.

Naomi's ring entrance just grabbed the conch. Someone has a personality.

We going to get some blood here?

Kidd & Cesaro vs. New Day - not at all a fan of switching the titles, but I loved this match. Give it a ton longer than I ever would've imagined and they made the most of it. Cesaro with his power spots, great near falls and creative saves - see Cesaro's headbutt, a couple sick dives, awesome heat. Win for everybody. Maybe even ***3/4 good.

Solid match that did a better job making Neville seem like a player than he has on Raw thus far.

There is zero reason for Dana to say anything other than what he did. If that's his position, he makes it clear right away. If not, he ensures a great position to negotiate from ensure UFC is compensated as much as possible for loaning out one of their top drawing cards for a payday during her prime. There's just advantage to saying anything else at this time.

You will definitely win. Shameful as it is to admit, Sunday night here outside of a big football game or Rumble/Mania/exciting PPV means a big salad and healthy dinner. But I may have to supplement it with some ketel. TBD.

Damn. I was really looking forward to this but if this is the best PR has to offer I'm not sure I'll find a whole lot to love. Despite having a much wider platform to work with (literally -- this scaffold is probably 50-100% wider than in Dundee vs. Koko), they didn't take much advantage of the situation and did a worse than usual job of teasing the falls. Short of a couple interesting wrinkles near the finish there wasn't much here to capitalize on the visual or tease a deathly fall. Pretty disappointing.

This is basically Sabu. Always looking forward to it, never knowing what you're going to get, and rarely does the result even approach expectations.

Is Angel Blanco Jr./El Hijo del Solitario v. El Hijo Del Santo/Villano IV TXT 2/25/12 available online?

Is that the case on the DVD as well?

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
WingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
It's 2015, why are you reading a site that buries the credit for the source of a news item at the very end where most people will miss it while going out of its way not to mention the source in the text? Not defending 411's tactics, but why would the average person reading from a website care about credit for the contents? I understand why its a big deal to those involved. But the masses simply want their content. -
Not home right now so I can't check, but does the '05 version of One Night Stand include the original music or is everything dubbed over?
-
Why would anyone care about Todd Martin? I'm asking as a serious question. Did he ever do anything besides write Raw recaps for the site? Was he ever a more integral part of the Observer product?
-
This is all wildly understated. Not to say things don't hold up, but one's reactions, expectations and entire experience are definitely different going into something with a completely clean slate. I wouldn't argue for the pros/cons of a first versus subsequent viewings other than the spoiler free aspect, but the impact shouldn't be dismissed.
