[1992-09-26-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Ric Flair & Mr. PerfectWingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 Perfect's act feels like its jumped the shark here. Might just be because its side by side with Flair, but he's almost cringeworthy.

The crowd is almost deadly silent after Hase's intro and the Steiners don't seem to have their working shoes on other than to throw around the natives a bit, and even that is lacking here. Quite the fall off from '91, as this may be one of the least interesting matches on the set. Loss hit the nail on the head with the Steiners feeling like yesterday's news. I don't know how the work from their WWF run will hold up but it'll at least be different. **1/4

[1992-09-23-NJPW-Battle Autumn '92] Masa Chono vs Steve AustinWingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 I'd never seen this bump before. Pretty crazy to see him hit this here and eat basically the same thing 5 years later. Chono looked pretty pissed afterwards.

[1992-09-21-UWFi] Nobuhiko Takada vs Gary AlbrightWingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 Wow. I did not realize it was looked upon that fondly other than maybe as an example of Takada as a draw. This was another enjoyable offering from UWFI but far from anything great. We get the simple story of Takada's working on the ground for a submission vs. Albright's slams. Nice setup for the finish with Takada taking things this time around. ***1/4

[1992-09-20-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Interview: Ric Flair & Mr. PerfectWingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 Did they actually have plans for a long term Warrior reign on top here? Flair cuts a pretty funny promo about Warrior's veins cramping up.

[1992-09-19-SMW-TV] Rock & Roll Express vs Heavenly BodiesWingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 Quick solid action from the start. Morton on fire with early armdrags and quick RNR switches as they look great. Studd Stable is out and help Pritchard pin Morton. Solid TV match. ***

[1992-09-19-SMW-TV] Dirty White Boy vs Tim HornerWingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 Not a bad littletv match. DWB bumps well and bails off of a nice dropkick. Wright in this role really was a lost classic. You'd think someone could try to pull that off today. Wright bumps out of his wheelchair in an awesome moment. Hell of a TV segment. **3/4

[1992-09-19-SMW-TV] Ron Garvin and Paul OrndorffWingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 Orndorff attacks Garvin prematch and then chokes him with the towel. They call it a 1992 lynching. Stay Classy, SMW! Then an intense Garvin promo and Orndorff in studio. Seems like Garvin could be put to better use than a towel.

[1992-09-19-WWF-Superstars] Randy Savage and Ultimate WarriorWingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 Savage out with an Ultimate Maniacs kneeband. This is all incredibly corny with Savage giving him Macho glasses and talking about what he'll see with them. Nice merchandising and fun to watch today, but I doubt it played that well to a paying audience in 1992.

[1992-09-17-CMLL] El Dandy vs El Satanico (Hair vs Hair)WingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in September 1992 I really need to check out the matches from '90 (and the new 80s set) as apparently those are the can't miss versions of this, which was fun but didn't feel like anything so special. Dandy takes the first with the same toehold bridge from the Casas match, and then he bleeds. A lot. Didn't love the finish in the third but there's always room for a good shaving. ***1/4

Yep you guys were pretty clear it wasn't your thing this time around. I'm sure it'll pick up more as you get into '92 and beyond like you said. I'm just a sucker for hearing about things that are still foreign to me.

I'm with KrisZ in that Taker at Mania and similar big matches is pretty tough to beat. I'll take those spectacles over Dustin any day. On the other hand, if I have to watch 100 matches of either guy I'm taking Dustin pretty comfortably as he's got a lot more rewatchable depth between the WCW years and Goldust eras. Fortunately I don't see that choice presenting itself anytime soon.

Finally had a chance to finish this yesterday and enjoyed it immensely. I really enjoyed the international parts as its what I'm least familiar with having grown up with WWF/WCW. Next time don't blow through joshi so quickly!!

I'm a huge Michaels fan. The kind that isn't very welcome in these here parts. But I'll take average RNR over high level Rockers in most cases.

Anderson & Morton are the two standouts on that list for me. A couple interesting names for consideration -- Liger and Eddy Guerrero. Liger was unquestionably the ace of his division and headlined some shows, but was never the focal point of the promotion. Guerrero obviously had his run on top, but there was a ton of greatness that preceded it and followed it where he wasn't on top of the card.

Always a name that's intrigued me. I'm not referencing the list of who's in while posting this, but what's the case *against* Jarrett as opposed to other territorial promoters who are in?
