The Big Show interview is one of those interviews that brings home the fact that these guys and girls are just normal people trying to pay bills like the rest of us. The character Big Show is so played out and completely stale and should have some time off. Paul Wight on the other hand sounds like a good guy to keep around for various reasons. Big Show could have easily taken himself way to seriously at any point in his career and Vince (who loves big men) would have been forced to book Show like Andre, but Show was and still is a team player which is why he has jobbed to pretty much everyone and done a ton of stupid other shit that a guy who is legit a once in a lifetime wrestler probably shouldn't be doing.

What do you mean by decent? I just checked Ticketmaster and I see offers for seats in Section E (camera left, stage right) and C. The ringside seats go up to 10,000 dollars per ticket? I am all for a brand split and I would perfer everyone I don't like to be on one brand with HHH and Stephanie so I can make sure to never watch that show. In order to accomplish this WWE will need to re-brand the women as mentioned above. Total Divas would need to be re-casted to include retired/non-wrestlers so they can be on the HHH/Stephanie brand and the other brand can be for the actual workers and NXT calls ups. Again, WWE can have its cake and eat it to. The new Total Divas would be: Rosa, Cameron, Eva, Summer Rae, Lana, Jo Jo, and of course The Bellas. I don't think you can have divas on one show and women on the other. One show can have actually wrestling the other the "divas" are there to do what? Have shitty matches? The "divas" show is only people on Total Divas? How would this work? In my fantasy booking, people like Cameron, Summer Rae, Eva Marie, etc. would be managers or valets or just a general TV personality. I would position these women to have strong women roles. Just because they don't wrestle doesn't mean they aren't the brains behind the operation (Lana) or laying down good business strategy for her tag team (Eva) or even just making sure her boyfriend/man gets the win no matter what because it means more food on the table (Summer Rae). I just really don't want to see those women mix it up with Becky, Paige, Banks, etc. as it just sets everyone back almost a decade.

The Styles stuff is interesting because I feel WWE is doing just enough to keep him over, but not get him too over. Can't have a TNA guy running around with the top title and all that other non-sense. AJ Styles probably has 3-5 years in the WWE and probably in pro wrestling in general. With that said, its probably best for WWE to use him in a mechanic type of role than anything else. There are a lot of cold acts in WWE right now who could use a new opponent and a shot at possibility updating their ring work. With the disaster that is happening in the main event scene with Reigns, Lesnar, Ambrose, and HHH, I am glad Styles is as far away from that mess as possible.

I did the same thing as a child after reading Peanuts/Charlie Brown paperbacks. Glad I wasn't the only one. Vince Mcmahon also helped me out.

WWE is very self-aware. I think someone pitched the idea of what if the Rock and Daniel Bryan angles were combined. Surely the outcome would produce someone twice as over. WWE is doing both angles (that developed organically) at the same time and its failing and I believe that is by design. I truly believe that one or multiple people are sitting in Titan Towers and seeing the apathy on TV and hearing the boos and believing that this is all Act I in a V Act play. I honestly believe lots of people in WWE see everything going according to plan and no adjustments needed.

WWE has never been good at these types of company wide angles. I really hope this doesn't turn into the old generation vs. new generation thing with The McMahons as a focal point playing out a proxy war. It will be Invasion II with the same cast of characters are the front and in the back. The wrestlers are different and it may be NXT or Smackdown or, as noted, WWE instead of WCW/ECW, but its all the same. If this is the case then there is only going to be one ending and that's Vince, Big Show, Kane, Jericho, Dudley Boys, Orton, and other beyond stale acts that need to retire standing tall against Balor, Zayn, Styles, Owens, Ambrose, etc. while Reigns is positioned as the important piece to this puzzle and whichever side can convince Reigns to join will have the power advantage to win the war. Reigns is no Austin and this is going to suck so I hope this fantasy booking I just did remains exactly that....fantasy.

As I was watching this I said to myself, "Man! This would be the perfect nice for Shane to come back. What if he did. I read earlier there was some huge surprise planned for Raw." and within 10 seconds HERE COMES THE MONEY! Awesome moment, response, and overall segment. Taker vs. Shane inside HIAC at WM? Shane gets Taker at Mania, HHH is the WWE champion and is in the Mainevent, I am surprised Stephanie isn't booked for anything yet. Is the supposed match against Nikki or Rousey still cooking in WWE's mind?

So what's a good starting point for WWE HOF candidates? I don't think its too much to ask that the men/women that are inducted have some memorable in-ring stretch. I Know WWE isn't a wrestling company and isn't in wrestling business, but surely if one of the first questions that people have is 'What good matches has this wrestler been in?", then that's a problem. Unfortunately, The Godfather doesn't pass the Greatest Matches DVD test. I am saying that the HOF should just be about workrate, but surely there should be more consideration other than gimmick, entrance, and whether or not someone did a porn.

Interesting. WWE has switched up hometowns for desired heat in the past, which makes it puzzling that the company choose to do this. Maybe it was done so Owens, win or lose, doesn't come off as less of a star in the PPV before WM as WWE might have something big planned for Owens. I know I'm stretching here, but I can't think of a logical reason aside from oversight.

Dolph has always been announced as being from Hollywood, FL for as long as I can remember. Not sure why it was that confusing.

Who is going to win the Vincent J. McMahon award?
fakeplastictrees replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in WWE
Pretty much this. If the absurdity of all of this doesn't at least peak interest within a person, then pro wrestling probably isn't for him or her. My top request is that this plaque is bigger than the one given to Vince at MSG. -
Memphis podcast idea
fakeplastictrees replied to thebrainfollower's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I have podcast equipment but no gimmick yet. Would love to join, but unfortunately I know jack shit about Memphis. -
So now its official. HHH/Reigns at WM. The crowd reaction starting from the end of the 3 count to the fade to black was so funny. The crowd didn't care, the commentators did their best, and HHH looks like he couldn't give a shit about this heatless stuff and is just looking forward to having his 'Mania Moment' in front of potentially 100K fans. Owens/Styles, Lesnar/Ambrose, and what I assume will be a 4 way for the Divas title featuring Banks/Charlotte/Paige/Becky should make for a good under-card. If Cena does come back and fight Taker then Mania won't suck on paper, but that main event!? Good gravy.

After watching Jericho/Styles tonight, I have a weird desire to see RVD/Jericho vs. Styles/Joe at WrestleMania. Two stars that still believe they have something to offer WWE vs. two guys who realize this is their first and last chance to make an impression before moving onto other things (cycling out of pro wrestling) within the next 3-5 years. Imagine the completely un-self aware/delusional promos done by both RVD and Jericho leading into the show. It will be amazing, pathetic, sad, depression, and fucking glorious to see the melt down occur. BOOK IT!

Brie's skeleton like forearm being shown as devastating was absolutely hilarious. I understand tonight was Brie Bella cosplaying as inactive WWE personnel, but she could have still be authenticate. Three roaring forearms would have been less eye rolling. Not sure if Brie's choice of submission/application of submission was complete shit or if its more of the camera work towards the end that doomed the presentation. Good for both for working hard tonight.
-
WWE is doing its best to make people care about Brie Bella before she leaves. I am not sure when he last match will be but at least she is doing everything possible not to get apathy. I am awaiting a possible Cena tie in order for Brie to complete her hat trick of 'paying tribute' in order to help facilitate getting over. The match should be fine as both have been decent enough in the ring as of late, especially Brie IIRC.

It's been pretty long in WWE, can someone really get over without doing much talking? I believe in the Reigns case pointed out. Give Reigns The Goldberg Treatment and that has a better chance of solving WWE's Reigns' problem then anything else the company is currently doing. Apparently weak sauce promos were/ are a cause of Ziggler, despite being given the WHC on two difference occasions, isn't featured as one of the top five guys. Surely Summer Rae can be his Sherri Martel to his Shawn Michaels? Who was the last guy in WWE that got over with barely no words? Kane in the late 90's? Jeff Hardy prior to his 2004 TNA stint?

I think when people say they want a new Mysterio, what they mean is that they want a new lucha that can work with small guys, big guys, and everyone in between while looking absolutely credible and delivering amazing feats that make you rewind the match. Rey Mysterio was a fucking highlight reel and was always entertaining to see and he was a natural underdog. No real promo time, no huge merch push (outside the masks), no main event slots, and he was over as fuck and was the ultimate babyface. The Rey Mysterio character was too simple not to fail, so of course Bischoff has Mysterio remove his mask, etc.

Slasher my friend, all I can say is lower your expectations. This is a company that had so many golden opportunities and pissed them away in terms of making a star/creating special moments. Dolph Ziggler post 2014 Survivor Series, the whole Daniel Bryan mess, Taker getting his WM win back from Lesnar at SS later that year, Rusev's all mighty fall post WM loss to John Cena, whatever the fuck they are doing with Bray Wyatt, etc. Whomever wins the tournament will be working Main Event/Superstars within 6 months and will be trading wins with Jack Swagger while slowly building toward the 'money' program with Stardust. I am on your side. I want to see WWE do something magical and make this tournament matter, but its not going to mean dick in WWE canon and that's really sad.
-
To the fans it would. I can see in this super touchy era that people will completely shit on Goldberg beating Taker in a way you cannot imagine. I do agree that beating Taker should still mean something and someone doing it should happen. But if/when it does it should go to someone who needs it. Kevin Owens, Dean Ambrose,Finn Balor, etc. I think you are underselling the shit storm that will come if Goldberg or someone like him, not including Sting, beats Taker at Mania. It won't be Lesnar levels of stink, but I would hate to go to some place like DVDVR after that PPV.
-
I would want to see it for the same reason I wanted to see Orton/Batista as the main event of WM30...I want to see it for bad reasons. If WWE is going to continue to work to fuck around during Mania season then I want to at least be entertained in how far up their own ass the company is. There is no one they can bring in without booking themselves into a corner.
-
Taker/Goldberg would be very fun especially with both of them cosplaying MMA during their high profile match. I don't see WWE doing the match and having the balls to do a real finish. I highly doubt Mcmahon/HHH/Taker(?) would want Taker losing at Mania to someone who hasn't been in the business proper for over a decade. Lesnar of course is a different case as he was in WWE and had done some matches prior to his Taker encounter. I also don't see Bill just coming in, taking the check, jobbing out, and leaving without some type of fuss occurring. The match is too big to fail which means that its going to be fucked up 10 ways to Starrcade 1997. The fans will be split as they would not want either to win or loss. Is it bad to assume Angle is keeping himself in ring-shape for this match?

With The Network, WWE can really position itself as the one stop shop for all pro wrestling without buying up the promotions and slapping a WWE logo on them. You want Sports Entertainment? WWE's got you covered with Raw and Smackdown. You want Indie style wrestling with straight forward angles with people you care about? WWE has NXT? Now, you want to see people do stupid shit and break their necks? WWE now has a CW show coming to The Network. What a time to be alive. I'm surprised with the amount of women WWE has hired that they haven't tried to branch off a women's show of some sort. In all reality, I think pro wrestling works best with all of these guys and girls together vs. separately. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out as NXT has set the bar pretty damn high. With HHH at the wheel, it should be a fun ride.

I have never been a fan of Wade Barrett outside his Bad News promos. The guy was always boring TV to me and wasn't even over outside of the Bad News gimmick, so of course WWE had to kill it because of... reasons. I will not miss him and I hope he spends as much time away from WWE as possible as he needs to find himself. I hate to say it but TNA is like India/Asia were some guys get an awakening of some sort and just come out looking better than what they came in. Drew Galloway, Christian, Ethan Carter III, and Gail Kim are all examples of this. Maybe Barrett needs some time in TNA if he is not completely stepping away from wrestling? I want the VJM award to be like the one Vince gave himself at MSG shortly after WrestleMania. Fuck it! I want Vince to give it to himself with Big Show and Kane carrying out an over-sized plague! Don't disappoint me Vince!
