    Give me all your money.
  2. This is the best match Ive seen between these six so far this year. They have all been excellent in my opinion. Echoing what was said above, the focus on the in-ring is great here. Little to no brawling in this one which makes the high flying things like Harpers topé look like something fancy, at least until Seth hits the ring for his set. I like the booking of this match, too. Everyone loves clean finishes and this one made sense because (I think) Harper and Rowan should be booked to look slightly incapable when Bray is taken out. Shield were on *fucking* fire at the end of this with all of the highspots leading to Ambrose finishing it on the mat. Love the selling by Ambrose at the end of the match. I think that works in a little bit of Wyatt protection. Either way, Shield look like stars. "Do I look like I'm faceless, baby?"
  3. Havent glanced the thread yet but wanted to point out the first thing that popped into my head was 1994 crazy Backlund. I chuckled. Maybe it would work if he "had one too many concussions" and "joined the Authority"? They shouldnt run that angle.
  4. This is some horrible news that Ive been thinking about all day. I knew what the Ultimate Warrior was before I knew what the WWF was (as odd as that sounds) and used to run around with my friends shaking our fists and closelining eachother. Ive ruined many a swimming pool rope in my time shaking them violently. Like most, I never really liked any of his matches aside from Hogan at VI. So it goes. Aside, glad to see that the no nonsense moderation of prowrestlingonly is continuing. I love heated political debate as much as the the next wrestling fan but I come here to read about and talk about prowrestlingonly. Wrestling makes me happy in every way and politics make me angry, especially when discussed in the manor in which Jiz was discussing. I do not want them to mix. I can only imagine there was some private comment or deleted post that made this decision final. Most of the time when I make a longer post like he did I dont even revisit the thread for fear someone may have called me an idiot or something like that. I dont want to discuss wrestling I guess, just read about it at length and sometimes write about it. RIP Warrior.
  5. Best prediction not likely to happen. Bryan beats HHH, others, wins title. Faces embrace in the ring and celebrate, including Mick Foley, Bret Hart, whoever else might be there to make it cooler. Fans chant yes. Without fanfare or music, CM Punk shows up on the entrance stage almost unnoticed and sadly shakes his head as Bryan celebrates. Punk turns heel slowly and fueds with Bryan after fueds with and succeeds but is really beaten up by Brock Lesnar. Why the fuck not right? Bray Wyatt defeats John Cena cleanly in the middle of the ring. All of the "Cena sheep" from Wrestlemania XV carry Cena out Wyatt-style as Bray watches from his rocking chair. Yea. Undertaker defeats Brock Lesnar in a submission heavy brawl that is not announced as no holds barred but is. It is the match of the night and rivals the classicisity of Bret/Austin at XIII. Brock Lesnar gets Championship match anyway. I invented a new word there? Shield defeat New Age Outlaws and Kane soundly. Semi squash mostly resembling a tornato tag. It will not be as good as a handicapped match between Shield and Harper/Rowan would've been. Seth Rollins hits a kneedrop off the top after a Reigns superman punch and the crowd goes fucking wild. The Real Americans win the tag team titles but break up right after and drop them back to the Usos the next night on RAW. They have a fued and Cesaro goes over with no 50/50 booking to go onto be heel fodder for Bryan. The match of the year ensues. Divas Invitational: Honestly, I want Eva Marie to win. Everyone hates her, shes fucking sexy and can't wrestle worth a lick. She would be the perfect face of the Diva ranks. While I appreciate a return to "amazonian women dominating the divas division" and loved the sequence between Niaomi and Tamina on Main Event last night, who cares about that? If WWE Raw is the only place I can see Eva Marie on my TV aside from Total Divas I want to see her as much as possible because I am a heterosexual man who doesn't really care about womens wrestling and would rather laugh at it being bad wrestling and watch sexy women roll around than see good womens wrestling. I'm probably a minority in that opinion around here, but whatever... Battle Royal: Big Show will win and have a teary eyed moment with Hogan or one of the people who haven't been announced yet will win. I like the out-the-box thinking of Rusev but he hasn't had a match on WWE TV yet so I don't know. I would like to see stuff happen in this match to advance some storyline stuff but I don't think many stuffs will happen. I'd like to see another singles match like BIg E going over Christian who finally gets his one more match since he missed out on Main Event because of a "slight concussion" according to Tom Phillips. I'd like to see it be a good match. I'd like to see it go on in the 2 hour preshow and be a reason why Big E doesn't win the battle royal... because, you know, he should. Aside, I have really enjoyed the music choices for this years show. A lot better than Flo Rida and Machine Gun Kelly although I did enjoy the nostalgic Diddy performance and his slight nod to the Notorious BIG so close to NYC. This will be the first Wrestlemania in a long time that will be looked at as serious and rightfully so. The Rock's presence, while it brought in lots of money and some mainstream attention, created an almost intolerable level of silliness that will be all but vanquished this year. The longterm storyline is intense and involves three hated heels that will be familiar and interesting to lapsed fans and the probably the best wrestler to make his Wrestlemania main event debut since Bret Hart. I also think that if the show goes off without a hitch it could draw in casual and lapsed fans who only turn into Wrestlemania. And I mean actually draw them in for the long haul until things go sour again which I'm sure will happen sometime again this year. I am really excited for this show and I am earnestly hoping it goes great. I am also aware that we live in the reality era, har har.

Seconded, the fatal four way match was really good too. Everyone is seemingly stepping their game up in Punks absence. Maybe its just better recently. Happens sometimes. Watch the show tonight guys! Have a good weekend.
  7. I think Punk will win the Rumble tonight but this morning I've been thinking way past that.... It will never happen but should. I like the possibility of Brock winning the title at Chamber with Punk and Bryan somehow both being number one contenders but Heyman refusing to let his client defend in a triple threat because it is unbecoming of a WM Main (someone has to finally say it), so H or whatever contract makes a match between Bryan and Punk for the number one contendership at the top of the card at Mania with the winner. Bryan can go over Punk and then win the damn title and you have two HUGE matches and thing that people actually wanna see close the show. Of course, since were talking about the Rumble i say Punk wins and then Bryan wins the Chamber? Of course, this leads to my next angle. The Authority FUCKS UP in storyline by clamining that the chamber match will be for a title shot at Mania when the condender (Punk) is already set so Vince comes back and yells or whatever. The Wyatts kidnap Vince or something similar to what happens to Bryan and attempts to take the machine down. Vince is hypnotized and joins the Wyatts in his own weird way (bring back that Hawaiian shirt he wore one time). H has to save Vince. What does he do? Reform evolution. Its hard. Randys pissed cuz he lost the title at the Rumble to Cena who then dropped it to Brock at Chamber, Batista is mad cuz he was a moot point in the Rumble. They go ahead anyway. Flair comes back to control Dave like he used to. Wyatts w/ Vince vs. Evolution w/ Flair. The shit would be a shit show, the crowd would be hot for everyone in the match. Its for the fucking control of the company. Things can go well until Orton and Batista turn on eachother or whatever and battle to the back. The Wyatts are domitating H until Flair nails Bray with knucks or a chair or something and then disposes of Harper and Rowan with low blows. Flair at one point can do the flop. It would be great. Vince makes one last ditch effort to keep his company and gets in the ring, doesnt matter. Flair stomps him out, H hits the 'gree, Vince gets pissed at Bray, yells, Bray hits the move he does with the kiss, the crowd goes nuts and like six things happen. A fued between Orton and Batista is set up which Im pretty sure never happened before, H is definitively the boss, Flair is positioned in a regular role as the new Patterson, Arn can be Brisco, Vince puts over Wyatt and Wyatt turns face or something. Fucking fantastic man. Wrestle fucking Mania. Of course this leaves room for Cena vs. Undertaker, which doesnt need explaining. Thats four HUGE things that everyone wants to see happen. Throw some Sheamus in there, have the Rhodes drop the tags back to Shield quick let them have a three on two match for the titles where both teams implode even though the match has a definitive ending, have AJ finally drop the divas to someone, unify the IC and US titles with Langston vs Henry, have Michaels pose, Warrior run out, Hogan give the big boot to the real Americans and there it is. How hard is that?
  8. A few others off the top of my head, more recently... Ryback/Bryan/Kane vs. Shield (TLC '12) Punk vs. Rock (Rumble '13) Rhodes vs. Rollins/Reigns (Hell in a Cell '13) Punk/Bryan/Orton/Sheamus/Christian/RVD (Money in the Bank '13) Ziggler vs. Del Rio (Over The Limit '13) Cena vs. Punk (Raw 2/25/13) To my credit, I guess, I haven't missed a WWE TV show since Wrestlemania XVIII so I might be a bit of an authority on this subject. I'll see if I can dig up a difinitve list over the holidays. Cheers.

Awesome Smackdown tonight. Teddy Long wasn't there but his presence and authority was felt all thru the 2nd hour of the show... Aside from a slight screw job, the tag title match when 22 minutes and then got restarted twice. Ambrose on commentary was fantastic. It goes without saying the work was great. When the marathon of three matches finally ended I was exhausted and super satisfied that I tuned in. Seek it out if you missed it. Also, the Titus/turkey/Cesaroswing/pukeinthehat spot was freaking hilarious. Happy thanksgiving everyone, cheers.
  10. In the new issue of PWI fans send letters and question the choice of John Cena as number one on the 500. Stu Saks poses the question "if not Cena then who?" Argh. I'm thinking of starting a thread....
  11. This thread has me watching all the PPV shows leading up the close of the company and its so fucking hard haha. I'm in the middle of Spring Stampede 1999 ... Thanks for writing all of this. It's really entertaining.
  12. Nobody mentioned it yet I don't think so I will throw Ambrose/Taker from the Smackdown in London out there as a match worth revisiting, or visiting if you haven't yet.

Another quality six man set up during the show tonight. I'm sure it won't spoil much to say that it's Cena and Rhodes Bros vs. Real Americans and Sandow. Real good stuff. Dustin did the FIP for most of the match and it seemed decently heated but you never know with Smackdown. On a side note, Darren Young is a great face in peril. His constant "Titus" shouting while he attempts to make a tag are great, so is his bumping. Ambrose teamed with Rollins tonight instead of Reigns. Hmmm. With all the talk about WWEs failure to deliver they sure have had a lot of really great TV mathes lately that seem to be building to ... something. Survivor Series looks more up in the air than it was last year, but in a good way. Cheers guys have a good weekend.
  14. From google. Hulk hogan is the third thing listed after typing "hul". You have to type "stone c" to get Austin to come up but he is the only thing. When you type in "undert" undertaker comes up but that is also a thing. I don't know what that means. It is probably influenced by my regular googling anyway. Hulk hogan is the biggest wrestling star ever. The Rock is number two without a doubt?

To answer the question about Henry, he was injured the week after Summerslam... At a house show I believe. Same leg injury as before if I recall correctly. I follow WWE on Facebook and there was a post in passing about it. To comment quickly on the current state of affairs, the main event angle has produced some great matches and not so great moments. I wish Show never cried, and found it odd they didn't cut back to an HHH reaction when Show didn't knock Bryan out and he subsequently got the upper hand on Orton. Did he just take off after giving the instructions? Orton, despite being billed as slightly cowardly by Cole, has soundly defeated all opponents cleanly (Cody, RVD, Dustin) and has had compelling matches. He doesn't necessarily need the Shield but they are still there. He looks like a strong heel champion which isn't something they do well .... Ever. Everyone on the heel side of things are playing their roles great. Glad to see Bryan finally got some comeuppance in Toronto. It foreshadows him losing in a screwy way which is something that has to happen. I'd hate to see this turn into something where the title changes hands every three weeks. The Bryan/Ambrose match was great. Cesaros giant swing even had me dizzy. Great show overall this week. Wish they didn't have to brush off genuine crowd reactions as bizarre though.... Didn't get to go to the taping in Ottawa last night due to scheduling conflicts. Sorry I have no Shinfo.
  17. http://video.ca.msn.com/watch/video/rob-fo...=en-ca-infopane Hogan jobs in Toronto again. Is it telling that he wouldn't job for Bret but jobbed for Ford? I guess that answers the question of "If not Bret then who?" Next.

Great action this week on the C and D shows. Loved the Shield/Osos/Kofi match. Great energy throughout and loved the logical spot where Rollins rolled in one of the Usos to distract the ref and then took the time to do something devious. NXT was even better. Great 2 out of 3 match between Cesaro and Zayn which was all you would expect from it. AJ had a fun match with a developmental girl who seems to have the gimmick of being a psychotic mark. Really entertaining. She calls Dusty "Mr. Dusty" and whatnot. Too bad I dont remember her name haha. Dolph worked a match with a monster heel. Dolph worked the quite impressive little match here. It seems as if he was sent down Full Sail to work on his face offense . There was still a lot of heel stalling but the NXT crowd ate that shit up. The developmental guy is (possibly gimmicked as) from Bulgaria with a sumo background. Great stuff. Havent finished Smackdown yet but the opening promo between Bryan and Orton was pretty funny thanks to Bryan and I can't really see a cage match blowoff between Bryan and Barrett tonight being *not* entertaining. Have a great weekend guys, cheers.
  19. Ive heard a lot of pundits say that he would be more suited to a place like Calgary but honestly he is more of a bizarre comical conservative figure who is straight out of a parody movie. Alberta seems like a place that takes their conservatism *ahem* seriously for the most part. Anyway, this is pro wrestling only so I will change the subject to something more Canadian and post this. This is verbatim from something a friend emailed me. I am not sure if the non press release text is his or not. Montreal-based Top Of The World Wrestling, promoted by Sylvain Grenier, has announced last night that they have come to an agreement with RDS (Which airs all of the Montreal Canadiens' games, the largest french speaking sports network in the world.) on a TV deal which will see their shows being aired in the traditional Quebec wrestling timeslot, on Sunday mornings. The first tapings will be on September 28th. Raymond Rougeau (that's a slap in the face of his brother...) and Pierre-Carl Ouellet will be the announcers. Rougeau is a great announcer, PCO not quite so much. Here is the official press release, in French. I'm flabbergasted that an indy from Quebec got back on TV, and it wasn't Rougeau Gym. Oh well, maybe Jacques will allow his boys to work for TOW....probably not. As far as the roster goes, from the top of my head that you would know... you have Sylvain Grenier of course, former IWS champ Dru Onyx, former Rougeau Gym standouts Eric Mastrocola and Handsome JF, Sexxxy Eddy and Darkko. I would expect them to bring in Steen and LuFisto, and more former Rougeau Gym guys. Hell, I know for a fact that JJ Rougeau and his dad are estranged at the moment, and that JJ is on a sabbathical from wrestling. That would be a MAJOR coup for them. Hey, I just realized this might be ctrl+c'd from the WON, which I dont read. If it is sorry, take it down!
  20. http://news.ca.msn.com/canada/toronto-mayo...stle-hulk-hogan TORONTO - Toronto's mayor often takes on the media, but on Friday morning he'll face an even more intimidating opponent — his "hero," Hulk Hogan. Rob Ford says he "can't wait" to arm-wrestle Hulk Hogan in a friendly event. The legendary shirt-ripping wrestler will be in town for Fan Expo, where he is set to hold an "uncensored" question-and-answer session on Friday evening. But first, the 14-time world wrestling champion will arm-wrestle Toronto's mayor, Ford's spokesman announced on Twitter. "The Hulkster...he's a good guy," Ford said Thursday. "(Hogan) has been my hero for a long time." "When I was a little guy — the wrestling and stuff — it was good," Ford said. Ford was asked about the event while at the Ontario legislature for the swearing-in ceremony of Doug Holyday, the former deputy mayor of Toronto who was recently elected as a provincial Progressive Conservative. Specifically, Ford was asked if he had seen a scene in the movie "Rocky III," in which Hogan fights Rocky. "(If) he starts swinging, I'm going, man. I'm right out the door," Ford said, laughing. "I'm not going to sit there and take him on." Fan Expo Canada runs Aug. 22 to Aug. 25 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. I think a lot of Tories in the GTA would say "if not Ford then who?" My answer would probably be anyone else. Still, the question remains, what is he gonna do?

    Jaaawn Cena

This. I was one of those fans. Now, not. Cena is probably THE top WWE star of all time, both in their revisionist history and in actual match quality given what I've seen. Maybe Ive just already seen enough of Hogan, Hart, Michaels and Rocky. I cannot wait to go through these matches listed as I already have most of them but havent viewed.
  22. Alright you have me hooked.
  23. I suppose you are right. The only acknowledged Gonzales was actually a DQ win this year during some kind of web segment on youtube. Undertaker was also carried out at IX, which is something H claimed to do for the first time at XXVII, but that might belong in the H/douche thread, which I assume might be busy today. I love fantasy booking, this seems like a great one so far.
  24. The streak is all WWE has left and you took it away from them... I hope you fantasty book them some stars that stay with the company through the rough years.
  25. This was a really cool idea. I dont really buy Cena as a footnote but I really like the idea of making new stars and I love the idea of Ohno getting this push. It seems so insane so I see why people are giving you flack but fuck that. A more reasonable and less creative idea might see Bryan in this role but we know he really cares about that title. I came up with something pretty "out there" for Wrestlemania 29 around the time of just before the Rumble Ill see if I can find the txt file and post it for you later. Either way, Kudos.
