That match was awesome! Can't believe it's been on youtube since last year and hadn't read anything about it.

Absolutely this. That's why I had Funk at 2, even to this day if I find footage of him I end up being entertained. I had Flair at 3 so it's not like I think there's a big difference between them but in 2016 I just value Funk's versatility a little bit more.
-
Surprised and really happy that Misawa and Funk did so well. I thought for sure Kobashi and Kawada were going to rank ahead of Misawa and that Funk would be at most top 10. Considering the gap between #1 and #2 that Grimmas posted a while back, I think Flair winning is a lock. Then again, I've been wrong about most of the top 20.

As a huge Misawa mark I'm so happy he ranked above Kobashi and Kawada, I have no issue with people ranking them higher but Misawa just connected more with me as time went along. I also have a weird fascination with his comebacks, I'm not sure anyone else has even attempted to make those kind of comebacks like Misawa and be as effective as him. Bryan is probably my second favorite wrestler ever after Misawa and I had him 15 thinking I couldn't put him any higher. Reading posts in this thread has me thinking he might not actually be overrated as a top 5 wrestler ever, but still...it just feels weird I guess. I rewatched a lot of his indy work and it held up pretty well, I guess I felt like if I put him higher it was me having recency and favorite bias. It's gonna be interesting seeing how much more scrutiny he gets in the next 5-10 years.

1.-Flair 2.-Hansen 3.-Tenryu 4.-Kobashi 5.-Funk 6.-Daniel Bryan 7.-Kawada 8.-Misawa 9.-Mysterio 10.-Jumbo I hope I'm dead wrong with most of these.

I guess my advice for 2026 is use every tool technology gives you to make people open their minds and watch cool wrestling. I have no clue how easier (or god forbid, harder) will watching footage and sharing it with other people is going to be in 8 more years - if this is done again I assume there's gonna be at least a 2 year process before sending ballots - but I really hope the nomination and discussion process can be engaging to more people. I'd love to see fans that are disappointed with some placements in this list be able to pimp the shit out of guys they like in a way that it reaches to more people than just PWO. I'd love for every style to be considered by at least 85% of voters.

#23 for Hash is fine but I still wanted him higher dammit! Holy shit at Casas at #22. Legit shocked by this. Although there was a limit in how many ballots he could make (as not every voter considered lucha), I thought he would average like 15 or even 10 in votes. I'm one of those people that really struggles with that style (specially with that distracting, atrociously bad commentary) but Casas was able to make me engage in his matches like few others. Bummer.
-
If we take the "styles" considered for the poll as fact, 76% of the voters considered Lucha, that's 115 ballots tops. I still think Casas makes it to the top 10 but he's gonna need a really high average vote and top 3 votes

Average vote of 38 for Michaels seems right. Still I little surprised he did so well, but he was on a lot of ballots and had high votes so I guess it makes sense.
-
There were only 20 anonymous ballots. Even if all of them voted for Brock - which can't be because I was one, by mistake, and didn't have him on mine - he still did amazingly well for everyone else.
-
You keep saying that. Who are these people?
-
Fujiwara went from 119 in 2006 to 40. That's huge leap, and he had an average vote of 32 so he did really well in the ballots he was in. Would've liked to see him higher but it's still a win imo.
-
I had Michaels too, at 52. Just a little surprised his stock went up.

2006 list http://z11.invisionfree.com/wrestling_ko/index.php?showtopic=1937 Wow, Michaels is gonna be higher. I wonder if the Taker (and Flair?) matches added to his case for some people, or the fact that he retired 6 years ago has made fans remember his good stuff more than his bad.
-
Kinda surprised Brock is gonna rank so high.
-
The ace part was kind of confusing because he kept comparing him to Bret when I was way more interested in listening why he thought he was a better ace than his #17 (who Dylan thinks #16 was better as an ace too), something I don't see at all. So I was eager to listen to his thoughts on that, then again, haven't got to the part where him and Kriz discuss #17 so maybe it is addressed then.
-
No to both. Interesting.
-
Is Hogan gonna be the highest ranked guy with the lowest average or lowest ranked with more ballots?
-
Tanahashi's placement should end the debate about whether the anonymous/leecher votes would change the results about this poll in a significant way. I mean, if there is one guy that should've gotten a big boost out of a "non PWO" vote was him and he only made half the ballots. And 93.2% of the voters "considered Mainstream Japanese Wrestling (AJPW, NJPW, etc...)" when submitting their list. I had him at 50 but I'm happy with his ranking. How many post 2000's guys are left besides Angle, Joe, Punk, AJ and Bryan?
-
My god...there goes my productivity.
-
25 down, I actually predicted that. Checking my ballot to see how many were still in play, I just realized I forgot to rank Dustin Rhodes, sorry Grimmas I'm still shocked Taker is gonna be this high. Really curious where CM Punk is ranked now, same with AJ Styles and Nakamura. 100 is gonna be El Generico.
-
Man I feel awful for not watching more Colon, put him at #98 just off the strength of the Hansen feud and even then I kinda feel I should've put him higher anyways.
-
16 down, not bad. I think it will to 25 or so before the top 100. Guesses for the weekend: Taker El Generico KENTA Owen Hart Fuchi ( ) Really interested in how high Rock can get and how many ballots had him. He was my #97
-
He hasn't. What is too high for The Undertaker? He wouldn't make my 200 and I'm a fan, he was my favorite when I was a kid.
