Decent match. Both guys worked hard. Crowd understandably didn't give a shit. I hate Big E's new music.

Good match. Not as good as the 2003 elimination match. t was hurt by WWE's new love of booking handicaps that favour the babyfaces, which killed the crowd for some parts. Happy for Reigns.

At last! A Steve Williams performance that didn't bore the piss out of me. The closing stretch was borderline overkill but I'll forgive it for the meat to the match was tasty enough. Those headrops were sickening. If that's a sign of how things will go in the mid nineties then my favourite All Japan period may be already over.

That's the thing though, I don't think she is a good wrestler. I honestly can't think of one Natalya match where I thought, "she looks decent". In fact, the only time I thought she looked any good was against Del Rey herself, and Rey's pulled decent matches out of all manner of scrubs (don't get the 'no personality' dig. Sara's not a good promo but she shines in the ring, as a heel at least.) I don't know if it's nerves or what but she looks like she gets lost during a match quite often. She takes fifteen minutes to figure out how to set up the sharpshooter as well. AJ and even Brie Bella have looked better in the ring than her lately.

Is there any kind of consensus on what the best Chikara matches are? I've seen a few shows and Kingston vs Quackenbush and Claudio vs Sara Del Rey are the only matches I really enjoyed. Does anything come close to the Kingston/Quack match? Anything else good that involves the above workers (or Brodie Lee, El Generico etc.) that has a sense of drama without the 'comedy' rubbish? I only ask because I'm putting together a match list and don't fancy going through all the shows. Thank yous in advance.

Stan Hansen vs Kenta Kobashi 7/29/93 AJPW I can't say that this is the best Hansen match as I preferred him vs Funk 4/14/83 and the Kawada match from Feb of 93, but that's testament to the greatness of Hansen rather than a slight on this match. It's great from the opening bell. Hansen kicks in one of the young boys at ringside which leads to Kobashi smartly deciding to lay into the psychopath while the opportunity is there. Hansen being on the back foot for the opening stretch was a pleasant surprise. You always had the feeling it was only a matter of time though. Kobashi gets complacent and goes for one too many charges into the corner and is met with a boot to the face. Kobashi crumbles to the outside. The moment Hansen rises from the corner the crowd stirs and you know Kobashi's in some serious shit. And blimey . . that powerbomb. Hansen just tosses him onto the concrete, he doesn't guide him down or any of that pansy stuff. As Stan takes over you get all the stiff and delicious knees and elbows you'd expect but there's an extra urgency to them. Hansen doesn't so much lift Kobashi off of the mat without giving him eight knees to the head for the pleasure. And what's this . . an enziguri? A splash from the second rope? The man's full of surprises. Kobashi is the best baby in peril/fiery babyface type worker I've come across so far in my All Japan viewing and I loved the closing stretch with him resorting to various roll-ups in a fit to put the monster away, because nothing else will work. The ending was of course excellent. Kobashi had no other choice but to go high risk again with the moonsalt. He gets caught. A lariat from that position had the chance of looking not so great. It looked great. Perfect ending.

I don't know how anyone can listen to Alex Riley's clueless drivel on NXT without wanting to put a power drill into their face. He's weird and creepy around Renee Young as well. He makes me pine for the good old days of Maddox.

When did Ric Flair start to "Wooooooo!"?

I suppose the question I have after watching that O 'Conner clip is when did Ted go from being DEEBY ARSE to DEEBY ASS SEE? -
Low Ki vs Christopher Daniels vs Doug Williams vs Spanky (27/7/02 Crowning A Champion) I've been slowly making my way through the early ROH shows from the beginning. Most of it doesn't hold up in my eyes, lots of aimless headdropflippityflop shit. This was good stuff though. It was hurt slightly by the wanky stipulation (four way tag, hour long iron man rules) which led to some occasional lulls in the match but it never remained uninteresting for too long. Low Ki and Williams were quite easily the stand outs in this match. Doug's matwork was always smart, snug and unique looking and his power moves were fun and impressive. Low Ki's selling of his kicking leg was phenomenal. Low Ki's a goofy fuck and he annoys the hell out of me character-wise, but he's good enough in the ring to make me forget all that. Daniels on the other hand didn't bother to sell the arm once after all three other guys had worked on it. I'll give Daniels credit though, the crowd started out too respectful of him, cheering on his dickishness in the early going, but the guy was such a infuriating prick (constantly breaking submissions/cheap shots to Low Ki etc.) that the crowd had fully turned on him by the mid way point ("Fallen Asshole!"). This match would have suffered without a strong heel performance and Ki's sympathy garnering would have been lost. Spanky felt like he was there to just fill the numbers to be honest. It could have been Brian XL and it wouldn't have made much difference. Good match overall, especially for an over long multi man match. I'd place it third behind Danielson vs Ki and Danielson vs Doug Williams as the best matches since the first show.

I agree and I think she's pretty crap most of the time. I was struggling to choose between keeping her and Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn's fairly over but she's been MIA for a few months now. Natalya's one of the stars of their hit reality show and seems to be connecting with people. I could take or leave either one to be honest. I wouldn't keep both though, there's far too many divas.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Badlittlekitten replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I don't think he'd make a significant difference. TNA are shit at promoting and they sound like a weekly soft porn magazine anyway. A lot of Hogan's and Flair's fans assumed they were still in retirement when they were in the company. Cena's the only chance they'd have in gaining a following but I don't think they'll ever get close to WWE's level. Yes, of course they'd ruin it. I'd be more interested to see how WWE would react. Who'd they put on top? Would they stick Randy up there and carry on as normal? Or would their booking philosophy change? Would they finally change the presentation of their product and head in a different direction? I'd never wish harm on him obviously but it would be fascinating to see what WWE would do if Cena hung up his boots tomorrow. -
OUCH!! Which moves make you cringe when you see them?

The Kudo Driver/Cop Killer worries me a bit when I see it being set up. -
How about women pretending to beat each other up? It remains to be seen what happens with the women. I agree that they should market more towards young girls. They already have some fun, simple characters in the NXT women's division. I'm sceptical the good work in NXT will translate to the main roster though. Ideally I would scrap all of the divas except; NXT girls AJ Natalya Bella's As for the men, well there's a lot of deadwood but a lot of that can be blamed on the absolutely shit booking. A lot of guys could be saved if they could be arsed. Still, I'd sack off; Brodus Clay Tensai Curtis Axel Jinder Mahal JTG R Truth Ezekiel Jackson Yoshi Tatsu Hunico Alex Riley (get him off the fucking commentary too) Zack Ryder Curt Hawkins Ted Dibiase Jr (he still there?) Mason Ryan Sin Cara Camacho I think it is madness to want to get rid of Santino, and Heath Slater and Drew Mac are two of the most fun job guys that have come along in years. Bump champions.

Most boring wrestler of all time?
Badlittlekitten replied to Mr. Lacelle's topic in Megathread archive
I haven't seen any Doc/Gordy outside of Japan but I must say I did groan a bit whenever they turned up in my All Japan viewing. They never seemed to be as commanding in the ring as I thought they would and they've always been the least interesting team in the match. I was expecting something a bit more, um, . . . violent? -

Curtis Axel's in for a good shout. -
Fucking hell Neil, take a breather mate. Your favourite guy didn't win last night. He still might win in the end. WWE being worried about TNA is the most unintentionally hilarious thing I've read on here. Nobody makes a difference in TNA. They've had Foley, Hardy, Nash, Angle, Ric Flair, HULK fucking HOGAN . . I'm sure Vince is shitting it. I'm sure WWE stars long to jump to a company where even the top stars are behind on pay and where ex-stars are trying to sue for shoddy treatment. I don't think WWE's been particularly good myself although it's nice to see the Wyatt's in program with a bit more meat to it.

As shit as this angle has been Steph has been fantastic, and she's normally. change the channel bad for me.
-
Nobody will accept Bryan ending the streak. It will kill him if anything. The only man to do that (and turn heel as a result) is Cena.
-
Well it was coming. They've killed Bryan's momentum so much in the last few months that putting the title on him would have been a poor decision.
-
Agree with all of this. Heyman has gone from excellent to unbearable to me,. It doesn't help that he waffles on about the thing for twenty minutes every week. Bully Ryback was the most entertaining thing on the show for a while and I was hoping it was gonna lead to one of the skinnies giving him his comeuppance (Sami Zayne). Now he's just getting beaten again over and over. I hope Punk can get out of this bloody feud, Ryback and Axel don't have the credibility to make it work.

Check out Zeus and his deadly strikes . . The best punches in the world today belong to Luke Gallow's.

Rick Martel and Ricky Steamboat always went to shit when they started talking.

I don't even think Cole is that bad these days. JBL has become the worst announcer on RAW by far and is someone who could probably do with some kind of 'filter'. He sounds like he's taking the piss most of the time. He switches between being heel and face whenever he feels like it (he loves Los Matadores and WHAT'S UP!, but will defend the evil corporation to his grave). He isn't much different to TNA Taz. Lawler is still awful obviously, but with JBL's overbearing yelling and nonsense he seems to have faded into the background.
-
Cringe at how well it holds up? Admittedly, I'm not too familiar with the Whipwreck boy's work, but going by some 2002 ROH stuff I've seen recently they were rancid. Red wasn't so bad because he at least wasn't botching every other move. But it was still the same pointless flippityflop shit.

This has Dynamite in it. It might be my favourite indie match of the year. Old school southern tag with a British twist. Robbie has plenty of charisma as far as I can tell and is a pro at drawing heat. Both tag teams are generally excellent. Dean Allmark/James Mason v. Rampage Brown/Robbie Dynamite 22/2 ASW
