  1. That was funny story and a good example of why computer generated responses aren't a good idea.
  2. I have been arguing that for a while. They work to the part with the least amount of people in the building. I don't know how long it has been. I complained about wrestlers working that way a couple years ago because the effect was so obviously detrimental. Someone responded that had been through developmental that they are taught to work that way. I just thought it was the wrestlers being stupid. The company gets most of the minor details wrong now. Guess I shouldn't be surprised the big picture stuff is a mess too. Time to walk away again.
  3. I can't even imagine how much louder that pop for Reigns would have been if people cared about him. Surprised that wasn't the main event.

I tend to think the people predicting it will be the people doing it. I am hearing it enough now to at least wonder. Ryback is getting the most consistent positive applause right now though. Don't see why Reigns can't compete with him.
  5. I don't know about ill but he didn't look all that great in that one photo of him posted a couple months ago. Finally just letting his body go and not worring about the weight lifting would have the same look with someone his age. That and no professional makeup like when on tv.
  6. Yeah I think him dancing in a diaper reinforced that well.

That is great. I'm sure it will be the favorite for worst promotional tactic now though in the Observer awards,
  8. I don't know the timing of saying that seems odd considering it is talking about him in the main event match. Seems like they know what they have with him to me. He seems like a clear focal point to the shows now.

Seems like a good idea but odds are they would include Hornswaggle which would be a drag.
  10. I complain about this one a lot. I just hate how fans are a part of the show now. Plus you have the obvious plants in the audience for reaction shots. Signs everywhere which is no fun for people sitting behind them. Don't think it adds anything. Wish they would dim those lights and start turning down the volume when the chants start. Might be past the point of no return now considering how often people complain now if the crowd isn't lively enough for their taste when watching the show.
  11. I think his falls count anywhere match against Morrison on RAW was his best match.

    Organized?!?

I have an odd memory. I remember music perfectly. Note for note all the instruments. Don't even need a portable music player. I can play whatever I want in my mind. My ability to visualize in my mind is extremely limited. Like if I'm watching television when I recognize someone I usually recognize them by the sound of their voice not their face. If I witnessed a murder I wouldn't be able to describe the face of the person that did it to a sketch artist. If I had to describe my mother to you after saying red hair and freckles I get stuck. That's funny. I never use a straight 1/4 star but do use ***3/4 and ****3/4. It's why I sometimes use the letter ratings. Yeah I like the way you order them. When I first started doing them I tried doing 1/4s as well. I'm just naturally indecisive. To the point it can be a problem. So I would end up debating whether I should give it 1/2 or 3/4 for far too long. Figured I should just know my limitations and simplify it.

I have primarily used a 10 star system for rating matches. I do it this way since I also have a tendency to forget stuff. Also I like to know where to look for individual performances as well as overall match quality. I do this for tag matches as well. Triple threats, battle royals and things like I do the standard 5 star rating but I still use it as a guideline. For a standard one on one match I give zero, 1/2 or 1 full star for the following. Never use quarter stars. Each wrestler gets their own 5. 1. Offense execution- How clean looking the moves are and how well timed they are in the matches. 2. Offense Selling- In match charisma like facial expressions, selling the force behind the moves, etc. I'm using the word defensive here even though I don't think it is a good choice of words. 3. Defensive Execution- Timing in taking opponents moves, how well the moves look, how much blames goes in their direction for a botch, bumping quality. 4. Defensive Selling- Charisma while taking the beating, selling the damage, selling it consistently throughout the match. 5. General Psychology- Is the match story coherent, appropriate crowd response, engaging the crowd, match pacing. A lot of this ties into the first 4 as well which makes it a more important element when grading. So the final grades better reflect what I like. I also make note of match times since if the match is shorter I start things at half a star. I am also more quick to go up or down with it in those matches. Has been effective for grading sprints as I typically agree with the initial grades when I go back and watch.

    CM Punk

The guy he reminds me most of wasn't even nominated. Shane Douglas. Promos with too many shoot elements but never really got the same heat for them the way Douglas did. Far too often seemed to have only one speaking tone. Almost like he always sounded sarcastic even when he wasn't being sarcastic. Charismatic in the ring. That is sometimes negated by moving too far into comical selling with far too exaggerated facial expressions. A lot of what he did just looks sloppy due to the total lack of athleticism. He was Savvy though and does seem to understand what makes a good match. Which is why he can overcome his obvious shortcomings at times. Just far too often he is just mailing it in and is clearly disinterested. Has had some great matches which more than I can say for most wrestlers I dislike. He just doesn't have the ability to rise above the material like Daniel Bryan or Dean Ambrose. Unfortunately that comes with the job when working for the WWE. Only really ever delivered at the level of the person he is facing. Don't think there was ever a time where I would have considered him in the top 5 workers in the company. There are very few times where I go into a match expecting a ***** match. I give him credit for delivering it the one time I had the expectation. The Money in the Bank match with Cena. Don't think he was the best guy in that match but that really isn't a major knock.
  15. Well Big Show did manage to steal the chant for a moment as well. Just that wasn't really significant either. That was all really strange that momentary Big Show super push which basically ended with him dancing in a diaper on RAW advertising New Years. I really don't see how them all screaming yes is all that different from fans saying "what" in promos that didn't include Austin.
  16. It will be awful unless the right crowd shows up. If they do show up it could end up being the most entertaining train wreck in wrestling history. .
  17. Punk should consider moving to Los Angeles. Only place where people will leave you alone if you are famous.
  18. Nice, Reminds me of this soccer gem. Sad thing is that wouldn't even be the worst spot of Bully Ray's last year.
  19. They could just be going to the bathroom. Perfect time to go.
  20. Yeah those were some of the best crowd shots since HHH tapped to Cena years ago. As for Undertaker a match with him against Sting next year would be much less of a waste now. Though as has been said him leaving the ring was reminiscent of Michaels last match.
  21. The build up to the match made sense. I am burnt out on the Undertaker and was bored through most of the match. Glad the streak is over.
  22. My biggest problem with this is when a guy stop selling it and at some point realizes the mistake and starts selling it again. Since often they will eventually stop again. I am use to the WWE adrenaline fueled babyface comeback at this point. So only the stop and start selling jumps out at me enough for it to become an issue. Kurt Angle at Slammiversary XI is a good example of this in his match against AJ Styles.

I haven't enjoyed a match that much in a while. Which is saying something considering the quality over the last year. Could watch those guys do strength spots and counters all night.
  24. Yeah this what a friend of mine that stopped watching years ago and checked it out again recently complained about. I am not a fan of the commercials either. I wouldn't mind as much if the announcers acknowledged them. Say that if the match ends during the break we will show you what happens when you return. I only started watching again when I had a DVR and wasn't watching live so I didn't think about it much at first. When I watch live though it is irritating. It is just more unnecessary attention to the fact that what you are watching is fake. It seems like a lot of this stuff just comes from laziness on their end and could easily be addressed.
  25. I didn't think I would want to get it at first. I get enough wrestling for my weekly dose from Main Event, NXT and random matches from the other shows that I check out if the right people hype them. Just too good of a deal to pass up on though. Seems hard to believe that they will be able to cover all the PPV revenue they will be losing from just network subscriptions. Getting extra money for the rights to RAW and Smackdown could be vital. It explains the timing of the network and why it kept getting pushed back. This is a really ballsy move and I hope it pays off for them. Seems like they are getting the right kind of word of mouth at this point. Really have to give Vince credit for having the guts to make such a radical shift in they way they do things.
