That's not necessarily a bad thing, unless you are talking with WON Hall voters I suppose

Cena looked a little stunned that he got the same reaction he'd get on an average Raw. You have to wonder if that is going to be the reaction when he gets inducted himself!
-
And not one "YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!" =

Also they are doing a new Award called "Legacy Award" and bestowing it to a whole bunch of pioneers; Ed "Strangler Lewis, Frank Gotch, George Hackenschmidt, Lou Thesz, Mildred Burke, Pat O'Connor and "Sailor" Art Thomas. All except for Thesz and Thomas passed last century, with Thesz and Thomas passing in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Wait, Legacy Award? It doesn't have Big Jess' name on it, but I wonder if this is the non kayfabe version of that gimmick that kicked off Shane's return?

The deal with Bret includes needing his permission to use footage from Stampede, and that was forgotten about when the footage was uploaded.

Brie might be preggers?

Outrageous real-life heeling it up

Speaking of baseball, Reggie Jackson, Pete Rose and Roger Clemens have to rank up there. -

Walter O'Malley is more the true "Higher Power" heel in the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn. -
Vince, I know you are on the crazy pills, but NO, you are not fighting God, you are not ruining several OVW callups and feeding Paul and Shawn's nostalgic feuled return of DX indulgence that way!

Back to back years of guys who broke Bruno's neck.

And got Captain Kirk himself to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame.
-
Why would they include it if it was speculation? Surely they'd have lead time on contracting the inductees too, specifically so they can prepare those kind of materials? FWIW, early last year it was formally announced that former infielder and Rookie of The Year, Chuck Knoblauch would be inducted into the Minnesota Twins' Hall of Fame during the summer. Then Knoblauch got busted on domestic violence charges and his ceremony, and induction itself, was cancelled indefinitely. Until you see or hear it officially happen, even consider the announcements as "to be inducted" speculation.

Going back to the production truck, you'd think they'd have to be ready for on-the-fly booking as well. Granted one would think PPV results are locked down with no chance of change, but hey, you never know, what if Bret decided just before the match "fuck it, I'll drop the belt to Shawn" or if the finish was decided in the ring (see Shawn's SummerSlam meltdown against Vader). Production probably should have been ready to play both songs as the PPV was ending.
-
That would make sense, also if you want to say Dave grew to respect Shawn's personal growth since bottoming out in 2000-2001.
-
To be fair, you'd think something like that would have been ready regardless. How long does it take to get the right music ready to play when its just the music? And I doubt while the match is going on they have everything "packed up" so to speak except for Bret's/Hart Foundation music, or whatever would play out after the determined schmoz finish.

Again, granted this is based on a single podcast, but I really think NOTHING is going to change anyone's mind that Reigns is anything but a turd. In the ring, on the mike, whatever. Reigns sucks and didn't earn his spot, and that has been so ingrained as part of the argument, you'd almost have to completely reinvent Joe Anoi's gimmick in order for him to even get to a begrudging respect at this point.
-
FWIW, the podcast returned from a long dry spell, and tried to insinuate that it was a Reigns as Champ protest. Then the hosts admitted that while the protest was a quip, they really do hate Reigns because of his "lack of talent". I'd imagine that is a prevaling thought, and hard to overcome. Reigns truly is the modern day Luger in terms of fans not wanting to even like him, no matter how hard its tried to get him over.
-
I'm listening to a podcast describe Reigns as champion as being just a black hole of suck that the WWE is ramming down everyone's throat. And this is AFTER it seemed Reigns was turning a corner with the Raw after TLC. I think its worse than Cena at this point, where fans have already made up their minds to hate Reigns, and won't relent until he is literally removed from the roster. At least Cena haters are regulated to internet users trying too hard to seem smarkish or fans trying to be hip by doing CENA SUCKS chants.

It sounds tin foil hat ish, but I think a lot of it stems from shit like CM Punk not respectng him (hell, Punk didn't even want him as part of the Shield concept when it was just going to be his protection), the fact that he "fell into" the business instead of wanting to be in it since he was a child, and unlike Ambrose and Rollins, he came into WWE's system right away. There is no Jon Moxley or Tyler Black in Reigns' backstory. After working with the Afa or Sika camp, it was straight to FMW/NXT as "Roman Reigns."

Wrestling's most shameless, most glorious exaggerations

Interestingly, the @WWEArchivist twitter account posted a photo of Harley Race bodyslamming Andre a few months ago. For a WWE employee to post something like that is a breach of the few kayfabe lines they have left. On a 5 Things they showed Hogan slamming Andre from the Shea match. -
Oh, I see it, FPT meant announcement of pending induction.

HOF has been night before 'Mania since 2004.

Or they didn't actually have access to watching Smackdown and, thus, were stuck with Raw during the Triple H reign of terror. Smackdown was on UPN (through September 15th 2006)/CW (through September 26th 2008)/MyNetworkTv (which was over the air in many markets) until Sept 24th 2010 and debuted on SyFy October 1st, 2010. Pretty much the entire "true" brand split era, a case can be made that more people could access Smackdown than they could Raw on TNN/Spike/USA!

BTW, what was Shane's last appearance before this? Has to be at least one after his last match on the May 9th, 2009 Raw against Legacy? OE: Welp, a check of Shane's Wiki page says he was kayfabe injured that night and he resigned from the company that fall, so it might as well have been.
