Here's impact backstage interviewer Gia Miller's take
-
Sad ending to Josh Alexander's record reign, one month short of the full year, as he vacates due to torn triceps. Steve Maclin vs Kushida will determine the new champ next month. Mickie James has a broken rib, cancelling her planned title defenses, and may also vacate if not cleared by April 16. Awful timing ahead of the big Impact/NJPW crossover show Knockouts division still looks great with the recent signing of KiLynn King, now Jody Threat, and using Miyu Yamashita this week.

nwa regulars Brady Pierce, Thrillbilly Silas Mason, & Danny Flamingo have been cast as the Freebirds (Hayes, Gordy, & Buddy respectively)

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Alucard replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
Congratulations on the end of the ride! This was an awesome thread, I loved it all the way. Great final wrap up review there as well. -
With them not showing up in the Casino battle royal tonight, this is looking more and more likely. Especially after this past week with the Observer awards, where AEW's social media shared congratulations to all the winners - except for FTR - including congratulating only the Briscoes for winning Feud of the Year. Their contracts are up next month. Dax says now that they told AEW they would work until then but thinks they're not very happy with them.

She had dislocated ribs and has been out since, while Tay has been dealing with a recurring protrusion in her back and is not medically cleared. Thinking back to last year's Revolution, Tay vs Jade there was still my favorite Jade match and now there's no challengers.

Agreed. I loved everything Alexa did in 2016-2019. She had great matches with almost everybody she wrestled in that timeframe, or at least matches I really enjoyed (Sasha, Asuka, Charlotte, Becky, Ronda, Nia, Naomi, etc) all the Bray stuff is the worst and now the current stuff I'll never understand because as far as I recall - she was basically the one who killed the Fiend, so why go back to that. I did like her brief babyface tag with Asuka last year, they worked well together. Her most recent feud with Bianca didn't seem to click but I thought they were great as the final 2 in the Chamber last year.

Sad, Toxic should've been forever. RIP Toxic Attraction 2021-2023

WWE TV 01/30 - 02/05 Cody with the Carny Special tonight

I thought for sure they would do Rhea vs Bianca now instead of a Rhea vs Charlotte Mania rematch -
17, 23, & 28 are the other April 1 Manias.

I just don't get buying Sami as the guy to beat Roman after all these years, like he's never been presented that way and Roman's been the most unstoppable guy for so long that not even Brock could beat anymore on multiple attempts. Yeah it would get the big pop obviously but it just feels like such a stretch. that or it would be something heavily interference filled which would be a sucky way to end such a run. Cody feels like a star with an aura, has been built up being unbeaten since returning including 3 straight PPV wins over Seth (and Seth was pushed as the guy Roman "couldn't beat", with the DQ finish at last year's Rumble) to the point where it feels believable/right. Only other time I maybe felt that was with Drew last year in Wales and he had been built up with wins for months to that point.

WWE TV 01/23 - 01/29 Fist of the North Star turns 40 this year

Charlotte was in last year's Rumble as the champion, but I think Rhea wins for sure. Rhea/Bianca was the plan for MITB last year before Rhea got concussed and they never went back to it, but did a little 'walk by each other and make eye contact' backstage scene a few months back to tease it. Otherwise, I would be cool with Raquel winning, being in her hometown. I loved her match with Ronda last month. Her vs Charlotte would be fresh, but I don't imagine they want to do anything to turn Charlotte again quite that quick. -
One of my favorite matches! Felt like a truly epic ending to a title reign even though looking back, Orton's reign wasn't really all that long.

Fightful says it was indeed the opening went too long, so they called an audible. -

I wish a few legends actually got to wrestle like they used to do with RAW's 15th anniversary, just to give something different. "DX can't wrestle anymore, so you're just gonna get the guys you see every week instead" sucks. But Teddy saved that seg with the best way to announce a match at least. -

AMERICAN BADASS Theme~! -
what even was this week's awful bray promo. Did he just come out and now all of a sudden say that he IS "uncle howdy" and leave it at that. Wild that his stuff has gotten worse as the years go on.
-
Bully's still sticking around for the time being. Agreed on Maclin, been feeling him as the next champ since mid-late last year at least. I'm not sure I like the booking of Mickie beating Jordynne after Masha could never beat Jordynne in multiple attempts, only for Masha to then beat Mickie right away but I'm interested to see how it plays out.

"Across the Nation" was my favorite RAW theme, and also loved "To Be Loved" and even "Burn it to the Ground", but whatever they have now is just terrible..... same with Smackdown with whatever similar sounding song they used to quietly replace the ACDC one.

I'm a huge fan of hair metal, grunge, and nu metal, and I want them all back in my wrestling
-
That was fast paced and hitting big stuff early so I figured they weren't going very long, but fun match. Would still like to see more FTR in Japan.

it's C.E.O TIME~!

Alexa was so good in 2016-2019. I hate the bray stuff. wasn't alexa the one who essentially "killed" the fiend, but now she's going to turn back to that. Yuck.
