  1. Matt hardy vs Jeff Hardy in 2009 was an intense midcard feud which spawned some memorable and heated moments and a couple of great matches. Matt hardy and MVP from the previous year was also memorable in terms of having some material to work with which was explained and established on television.
  2. Benoit vs Eddie and Angle vs Rock on the same Raw back in 2001 were both marvellous, in the run up to Mania 17.
  3. The Network eases my deep rotted pain of not being able to get all of the Survivor Series shows. If I had those DVD's, they may have given mu Summerslam ones a run for their money in the overly watched category.
  4. I disagree with Disco. I've been to many, many independent wrestling shows in my time, as well as mainnstream shows (WCW, WWE, NOAH) and I have seen the following, in no particular order: Old men cheering the good guys and booing the bad guys. Kids doing the same obviously. Smart wankers. Parents cheering along with their kids. Blokes in their twenties blatantly dragging their girlfriends to a wrestling show sitting in silence and watching like a film. Basically, all sorts...
  5. As Loss said, DVD has been on a decline for a while now. The effort over the last few years has been so so, in terms of matches, extras etc. I have an article from WWF magazine kicking around somewhere on the eve of the first two DVD release (Wrestlemania 15, and Stone Cold Hell yeah) and the enthusiasm was huge. Over the years, the creativity in the releases became routine. The documentaries have been getting better, but I imagine these will be network priorities moving forward.
  6. Hulk Hogan throwing baby Earl at the conclusion of perhaps my favourite ever wrestling angle just popped into my head. My avatar isn't just ironic - I think that was one of the greatest things in pro wrestling, ever!
  7. That is glorious if true.
  8. Absolutely! Back in the SNME days whenever somebody like a Sherri, Heenan or Slick was sent back, the crowd would pop big time. These days I imagine if Summer Rae was sent back, or whoever, the crowd would just be average.
  9. Whether it be a guest ref, standard ref, or whatever, let'/s give the role of the ref some love here on PWO. An underrated angle in my mind is when the WWE ref's went on strike in 1999 due to dangerous working conditions and all of the nice little things that came out of that. Shawn Michaels basically co main evented Summerslam 97 as a ref and he really did add to the drama, obviously directly involved in the climax. This to me is the single best guest ref spot ever.
  10. Why? He was highly consistent on the mic and in the ring and over with the crowds in an era where very few were...
  11. Imagine if Halloween wasn't on a Thursday back in 2002...
  12. Hey, that's David Flair's sister you're talking about there!
  13. First he gets molested by Vince, then he gets omitted from the HOF. Tough break!

Great Raw I thought, lots of logical storyline development. Interested to see what Hulk's announcement next week is. Surely it's something which puts the title picture in clearer light.
  15. Some folk really do love to rag on Punk, right? When the weirdest the forums have to offer keep on going out their way to talk about him and his "shit hair" etc etc, you know these same nobodies are walking down the road listening to Cult of Personality at some point actually imagining they are making some sort of wrestling entrance.

Agreed. There was no way they could have run Orton vs Batista with the crowd shitting on the match, which was inevitable. I picture HHH vs Bryan at Mania, with Bryan winning to get a spot in the main event. Could even be the opening match, like how we saw Bret Hart twice at WM10. Seriously, the only logical thing to do at this point is Bryan overcoming all the odds at the big show.
  17. It was a mask torni, and DBK unmasked within seconds of the match. By other accounts he was arrogant at the time also. Last I heard DBK was doing stunt work ion Hollywood, leaving wrestling a long time ago.
  18. I look forward to seeing Kofi Kingston in a Royal Rumble match due to his creative spots in avoiding elimination. He's put a nice little stamp on that match.
  19. Not booking Bret Hart vs Hulk Hogan in a major PPV match for a first time meeting was a huge gaff by WCW, for sure. It could have been huge in early 1998 when both were hot. They filmed videos (which did air) in late 99 of Bret talking about the fact that he had never had a match with Hulk and it's what he wants from WCW, but obviously that led nowhere.
  20. Very much looking forward to the PPV. I'm interested to see if the NAO hang onto the tag titles, I'm keen to see whether they'll be booked at Mania this year. We should get a strong indication as to what Daniel Bryan is doing at Mania, I'm interested in seeing the reaction to Batista in PPV singles competition. I'm obviously very excited to see the six man even though I feel the outcome is telegraphed in a Shield implosion: although I may be wrong here. Match quality should be splendid throughout the show. Looking at the landscape, there is a lot to be excited about in 2014, I think tonight will kick things off.
  21. Has wrestlingforum.com stopped approving accounts this week or something?

Great to see the Hulkster back in the fold. Hopefully he can keep on good terms with everybody now to see the rest of his days out. We don't wan't to see Hogan doing Australian tours in his 70's, the man deserves to go out with dignity in the big leagues. Interested to see what he will be doing as a host of Wrestlemania. When Rock did it, bar the face to face with Austin backstage it was all a bit shit. The cringe opening segment was awful, and all eyes were on the ramp during the Cena match for him to make his inevitable appearance, making the main event of Mania seem like a set up for the next nights Raw. Hopefully the great man is booked better.
  24. The original Great Muta vs Jushin Liger match is in my top 10 of all time. I remember when that VHS hit my doorstep for the first time after reading all the hype I was as excited as hell to get it in my VCR. A well told, executed match with twist, turns and drama. In many ways it was quite a westernised affair, and I know a lot of puroresu purists are turned off it for this reason, but I just think it's spectacular.
  25. I've always said this is the only factor of Montreal I don't get bored hearing / talking about. THAT match just before the ending. It was white hot, anticipated and superbly executed. Sadly the match is never spoken about, only the ending. To death. Ad nauseam.
