Westley isn't a name, Wesley is. Wes for short. It's a normal name that people in the real world have like Shawn or Steve. I may have even run across a Wes or two in my life.

There's a severe shortage of Buddy's in wrestling today and I'm glad NXT is doing something about it.
  3. If he cuts a promo when he comes back about owning up to his mistakes or anything like that, or even cuts a promo at all, he's going to get eaten alive. I don't see how they keep him babyface.
  4. I wonder if there's any hidden gems on those Direct TV shows. I'm thinking along the lines of AWA Superstars where they know nobody is watching so they just have fun. Juventud interview immediately grabbed my attention.

So is Tye the first official THEY'RE BURYING THIS GUY act on the NXT show? Ick.
  6. Hopefully they'll get all the WWE/WCW stuff out of the way soon so they focus on other things. Not sure if this is news for any other platforms, but I use Amazon Fire and within the past few days they added a "binge watch" feature. If you're watching any episodic TV once your episode finishes, it automatically plays the following episode after a few second countdown. Just like Netflix. I thought that was pretty cool.
  7. I get the rib thing but I think it's too subtle a plot point for most fans, especially the ones in the crowd.
  8. It's USA's call, and they want it to be 3 hours. If it was WWE's call, they'd go back to 2 hours. Thanks, I wasn't aware of that!
  9. Looking forward to the Dudley Boys split take 2. Repackaged D-Von and a Bubba singles run. I'm well aware I'm the only one looking forward to this.
  10. That's probably exactly what's going to happen. NXT will take the place of ECW as the brand that is constantly refreshed as they supply the bigger 2 with talent.
  11. People really need to just get over this idea. WWE doesn't even have control over it. It was what USA demanded and they paid WWE a lot of money to get it. WWE is stuck with the 3rd hour until USA decides they don't want an extra hour of their highest rated show. But would they really be losing anything? If anything it sounds like they're gaining an hour. Right now we have 3 hours of A-show and 2 hours of B-show on USA. This is all early speculation but if Smackdown is going live with a separate roster, it sounds like they will be more or less equal to Raw in terms of importance. So by moving things around you go from 3 hours of A-show programming a week to 4 if you cut that extra hour out of Raw.
  12. It should be interesting seeing what they do with the tag division. They absolutely have enough teams to run two separate divisions but they also have a habit murdering teams by doing stuff like "Primo to Raw! Epico to Smackdown!" and then doing nothing with either guy. Raw absolutely has to go back to two hours. If they don't as a result of this then they never will.
  13. There's no reason why the brands couldn't be treated as equals if they're on the same network with for all intents and purposes the same time slot. Hope they don't split the world title. It could work.
  14. Cody was also getting singles matches on WrestleMania cards when everybody else at his level was thrown into battle royals and multi-man matches. For the most part they always made sure he had something to do but things never fully clicked for whatever reason. It's unfortunate he was a heel for nearly his entire tenure because he came across as such a natural babyface when he was in that role. I can't believe he's only 30 years old. He has his entire career ahead of him if he chooses to stay in wrestling.

Jax beat Bayley, bad. It's part of Bayley's redemption story. It doesn't mean she's "buried" or any of that shit, it's just logical storytelling. Bayley needs to find out why she got to the title in the first place and she might hit a few road bumps on the roaf that she didn't anticipate before
  16. I actually kind of marked out when Fandango and Tyler Breeze double crossed Goldust and Truth. I really like both of those guys, hopefully this will keep both guys occupied for a while. Breeze hasn't been around long enough yet for any long term damage to set in and Fandango has always been great the rare times they give him a chance to show his personality. I'm rooting for these guys.
  17. Lombardi definitely knows where the bodies are buried but I see him as a guy who's still going to tout the company line until the day he dies. Kind of a Jim Ross type. I've got a feeling a shoot with him would be disappointing but I would love to be proved wrong.
  18. Literally within walking distance. I will defintely check this out.
  19. It doesn't feel so insincere anymore which is a huge plus. Reigns as a tweener is tolerable while Reigns as a delusional gee shucks babyface was awful. He actually feels like a real person now.

    WWE Payback

I had a sinking feeling the second I saw that. You're not supposed to hit the ropes with your body at that angle. Sounds like he's coming to. Hope he's alright.

    Spoiler tags?
  22. I don't get "complete embarrassment" from that article at all. If you make it as a wrestler you could potentially be in there with trained MMA fighters, legit UFC champions, 400 lb monsters, former NFL players, etc. You need to have thick skin and you need to be able to take care of yourself and I don't see anything wrong or unusual about enforcing that kind of mentality at the beginning stage. Rodz is a very well-respected guy within the business and his school does have a track record of guys who made it. He must be doing something right.
  23. Great show so far! I remember the big merchandise boom of 1998 and those god-awful T-shirts. I remember going into an Ames or a Wal-Mart and seeing the "real" NWO Wolfpack T-shirt, then turning it around and realizing it had a giant Kevin Nash face on the back with "too sweet" underneath it. My brother found a DX shirt that could almost pass for the real thing. No pictures on it but they did change the font to the point where it almost looked bootleg. I wonder if it was a licensing conflict thing with their own in-house merchandising? That time period is hard to explain to people who didn't live through it. It was weird suddenly seeing so much wrestling stuff in stores. You go to a toy store now and they have entire walls full of WWE merchandise but there was a time period in the mid 1990's where they didn't have ANY wrestling merchandise in stores. Nothing at all except the magazines and maybe a couple video games. And those magazines weren't at every newsstand. If you were a fan back then, the only way you were buying stuff is if you went to live events or conventions/flea markets.

    WWE TV April 18-24

It's not photoshop. I honestly don't even know how somebody could think that.
  25. The first episode was pretty bad. I'm glad I gave it a chance because there's some pretty funny stuff. Tommy Dreamer is great.
