    Updates!

Will is spot on....I feel away from the project for a while simply because I thought I could not watch enough to contribute in a way I would like...then the pen ny dropped and I realised that this is all a bit of fun which simply involves me listing wrestlers in order of preference on the basis of what I have seen...not rocket science, and a good laugh.
  2. Thats a very good point Bill - I do wonder whether my reticence to accept the newer stuff comes from being out of the loop for so many years and not understanding how things have changed. On another note - the increase in the number of podcasts over the past year may very well have impacted on the need to discuss wrestling so much on a forum...it seems like so much gets covered in podcasts that there may not be a need to write about them too? Maybe not? Perhaps podcasts can be a excellent means of being able to stimulate debate.
  3. My memory is little hazy given the passing years, but Kilby was my first wrestling hero - I used to love watching him when I was a child, but have not seen a single match since. This will have to change. What sticks clearly in mind is the feud with Finlay and the vitriol with which Finlay used to taunt Kilby, but Kilby was always let his actions in the ring speak for him. Kilbymania ran wild in my house.
  4. Do we know how many Race v Flair matches made tape?
  5. I can see where Parv is coming from as I am someone whose primary interest is more focussed towards old school and as such, I will read more threads in that area. This forum is an astonishing encyclopaedia of knowledge that I love to trawl through to learn more and the debate is heated yet more often than not, fair. I dont post much because I am not very good at articulating my thoughts very well, so I cannot exactly complain about the lack of threads relating to areas of interest to me. That said, for some, the New Japan and WWE Networks could be an ideal place for those people who dont have access to a lot of sets etc to see older wrestling they had not see previously, so I dont think the networks can solely be seen as a root cause of a lack of old school chat, rather a stimulus to generate conversation.

    Jaaawn Cena

Just watched the Extreme Rules match for the first time and it was good....preferred their SummerSlam match from last year more though. On Cena - I just cannot connect with him in any way. I can appreciate what he does - I think he's a real good promo, had more than his fair share of really good matches but despite that, I just dont get engaged by him at all.
  7. WM5 will always be special to me because it was the first I saw - but thankfully, the Sky TV version was majorly edited down to the point of it being fairly well paced. WM9 was the worst foe me....I loathed that show at the time. Have never gone back to it.
  8. I only really know Rey from his AAA and WCW runs as I wasnt watching when he was with WWE - some stuff I really need to check out it would appear.

    Magnum TA

Magnum was a guy who had it all - its such a shame what happened. Given that part of what being a great wrestler is often depends on more than just what happens in the ring, Magnum would have a chance of top 100 for me. He embodied so much of what was great at that time. He may not make top 100 for me, but there is a damn good arguement.
  10. I voted for Tully, but I could easily have voted Arn. Both of them have that little something special which sets them apart from most. Arn has 100% legitimacy - you truly believe what he says and know he could back those words up. Tully is more about the aura of being a total bastard they he projects almost naturally. Add that to being part of one of the truly great matches of all time nudged me in his direction.
  11. OK....this is just what Im looking for - if its even half as good as the usual Titans shows, its going to be fantastic!
  12. OK...this is absolutely brilliant. I had no idea this game existed either....I have now not seen daylight for 2 days in hope of being able to book Mid Atlantic.....thanks Parv...
  13. My interest is piqued....
  14. Cant wait to get my ears around this. I love the Excite Series podcast, but something which looks at other things would be great.
  15. Well, the world title match was fun...that Rumble though. Horrible in almost every way I can think of. A real shame - it could have been a fantastic, emotional climax, but they are stubborn. Whisper it quietly, but sometime, just sometimes, its good to give people what they want...
  16. I liked the show - it was fun to watch...nothing spectacular but all very enjoyable.
  17. I really like the service as it stands now, but the live shows are going to make it essential.
  18. Im amazed the guy finds time to watch anything given the sheer volume of work he does.
  19. Dusty v Flair/Horsemen would be my go to. Had everything I could ever want.
  20. It's a weird dichotomy as I'd have him in the WON HoF regardless of actual working ability. Same here - an absolute lock for HoF in my opinion but also an absolute lock for worst wrestler ever!
  21. Big Daddy is by far the worst wrestler I have ever seen. He had no positive qualities at all in terms of what he could do in ring. Absolutely the worst.
  22. OK...now we're talking. I have a love/hate relationship with this show. I am very fond of the THV version....the PPV however is less than wonderful. Cant wait to listen.
  23. The only match that piques my interest in Ambrose v Rollins and even that has been diluted due to the way they have built the feud. This should be a modern day Tully v Magnum but will probably end up being Morton v Gibson instead.
  24. Any of the billion Cornette shoots out there go into any great detail re: SMW?
  25. Should be top 5 just for the entrance theme.
