  1. I'm fine with giving Vancouver and PR the label of "dummy promotion" in one sense, but it's a difficult thing once it comes down to execution. If we get a new writer who wants to come in, which one goes? Do Boricua and Wahoo have any say? What process is used to determine these answers? How do we make it fair? I want to see Boricua's vision for PR, even if it takes a while to get there, because I think he is singularly qualified to define that territory. But I also want to see this thing work without deteriorating further. The frustrating nature of things as they are has already factored into several people leaving and I don't want to see it continue.
  2. I don't want anyone out. My roster is enough to support me for a long, long time and I have no need of more. What I want is active promotions to read and deal with. The feeling of an actual system of territories operating on roughly the same schedule.
  3. Another excellent episode from one of my favorite tag teams. Always love listening to you guys, keep it up!
  4. To me that's just a part of the argument. There's also the issue of so many drafts and drop-outs being a huge distraction. Hard to have plans and execute them when you know they will change again in two weeks when two more people drop out. By the time you have re-calibrated, you have to do it all over again.
  5. Kris quit because part of his show was meant to be a showcase for the rest of the NWA. It's hard to showcase something that's barely there. That's just one reason, but I think it illustrates that this is in the end a cooperative venture and we need to all at least be present.
  6. Why did Kris quit? How are these "around the country" shows going to run on two or three promotions? How many drafts do we need in the space of a month or two? I think it's time to address that.
  7. I want to be sure that everyone who hasn't gotten a merger is okay with that. Secondly, if that is the way of it, I'm looking at All Star and WWC and asking what the status of their catch-up is. This constant need of a draft or absorption lately needs to end. I think a lot of the recent inactivity is people waiting to see how everything shakes out and it's taking a long time to do that. So please don't take this as any kind of insult to anyone running a promotion that's behind, but a request for some kind of concrete notion of where everyone's promotions are and what they want to do. If you don't see yourself making this work, let us know now.
  8. I don't have one lined up nor do I want one. In that case then, I propose that the AWA gets a shot at one roster (if what you say is correct and peach is done) and whatever is left after either goes into a draft or we start up a new western Canadian promotion.
  9. There is always the chance somebody could jump in. If all of Canada besides me is gone that's a bit much to go into any one promotion. My suggestion would be this: 1. We put it up for people to move or join. 2. Wahoo, if he wants and is still planning on posting shows, takes a crack at the IWF roster. 3. If Wahoo isn't planning on sticking around, the AWA takes over one promotion out of the three and the others go into a draft with whatever is left from the one he picks. He can run the western part of Canada freely unless we want to use those other two rosters as a new Canadian promotion west of Quebec. Still, I would urge Grimmas to change his mind because I think he has a lot of great ideas and should be a part of this.
  10. Sad to see Jack Tunney go. He's been a good neighbor and co-promoter. I hope his shoes get filed well.

  12. I will also be passing.
  13. Great show! The ending was a nice cliffhanger and I dug the B/W coin deal. I like how the show flowed together from one segment to another a lot.
  14. Great finish to the main! Big doings in the Apollo vs. Lothario feud, which is becoming my third favorite feud you have running. Loved the Welch getting screwed out of a win but not killed for it. The Masters/Anderson experiment would appear to be over. And way to go Steve Pardee! That guys is really plucky, somebody the crowd can really get behind. Underdog babyfaces are always a great thing in my book.
  15. So much great stuff coming out of Southeastern. The roster boost seems like it hasn't tripped you up at all.
  16. Good idea for a start to the weekly "around the AWA" show. Get everyone started at the beginning and work from there.
  17. I tend to agree, but it's wrestling. It's been bass-ackwards in that respect since forever and I'm not sure it will ever change.
  18. Great setup show for St. Louis! The countdown shows have been making good progress towards the big card and I'm excited for over half the card.
  19. LOL, who knows. The fact that half of my original teams speak mainly French could prove to be an interesting point of face/heel alignment depending where we had the tourney. Given all the tag teams we both have I think we'd be able to do a fairly lengthy tournament if it ever did happen.
  20. October 8th, 1983, Centre des Loisirs, Thetford Mines, QC (2,500, sellout) Quebec TV Tag Champions The Tongan Terrors defeated the Marcus Brothers with a Tonga John running big boot to Joe Marcus Canadian International Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express defeated the Gerrard Brothers with a suplex lift into a second rope powerslam The Can Am Express defeated Quebec Heavyweight Champion Richard Charland & Dan Johnson with a dropkick/cobra clutch combo on Johnson, the Tongan Terrors attacked post-match leading to a standoff Tony Parisi defeated Steve Regal with a flying senton Gilles Poisson & Earth and Sky defeated the Invaders & Rene Goulet with a Poisson bearhug on Invader 1, the match was an all-out brawl with mask-ripping by both sides and dueling loaded headbutts that saw both Invaders, Poisson and Goulet bleeding
  21. WWA x 2 Mid-South CWF
  22. I really liked that show as a set-up to the 8-man and the Lothario-Apollo match. But Ash and Welch is still my favorite feud you have going. Masters getting set to take out Lord Parv Hayes is interesting.
  23. Next 4 is all he listed.
  24. So much good stuff. Casey and Dutch! Schultz is going to be a great opponent for the Russians, but how focused cna he be on them with his title in the evil clutches of the Sheik? And that Taylor-Guerrero feud is going to be something else. I hope your interest comes back because I think you have one of the srongest promotions left running.
  25. I like the separation of the roster as far as matches go. I can see why your highlight show would be hard to do given this setup. I think that as you get the heirarchy set up in both areas you could move one or two guys across and very easily establish where they are within the pecking order in a few weeks of appearances. You could even run separate programs in the different areas on house shows with squash matches on the TV pretty easily after a while.
