Yeah, great booking up to the big card for sure. Looking forward to every match on the big card.

I am setting a deadline of 10 PM Eastern tomorrow night on any trades before I just pull the trigger on what I can and put the rest out for offers.
-
If you wait until 10 PM Eastern tomorrow night we can throw all of the WWF guys I'm dropping in.
-
True on both points. I'll try to wrap up my business with the WWF ASAP, but that is dependent on several folks getting back to me on things. I hope to make it as quick as possible.

Excellent catch-up effort! Gets across what seem to be the main focus of the angles and shows without being real long. Tito vs. Madril is interesting for sure. The 'birds coming back is just icing on the cake.

Really? I want to run Quebec and make monthly excursions into the Maritimes. Not like a French-speaking promotion is going to really catch on with live shows in a lot of other places anyways. Just so happens I like the idea of rotating big name, big talent tag teams in and out on my own schedule instead of on the luck of getting trades.

Great show for sure! Bock putting one over on Backlund is a shame if that's the final show, but it wasn't time for the face to come out on top yet. HUGE tag action, Ole vs. Robinson and Savage and Steamboat controversy all work great. I will miss the WWF if it goes.

So did we want to figure out how long we wait? Tomorrow we go forward? Later tonight? I'm uncertain as to how patient everyone is with this whole process by this point.
-
I think we gave Rain's friend until today to decide.
-
I think I get why I am remembering it that way. Portland had roughly 22 guys. Wahoo's had 18 promotions he had to leave picks for. So when he picked 10 guys, he had to throw six back into the mix to make an even 18. So now that rosters are bigger and the amount of promotions is smaller, when these things happen the benefits get a little bigger if you want them to be.
-
Yeah, Flair (when he's around) vs. the Freebirds is gonna be pretty damn huge. Taylor vs. Guerrero should be a pretty sweet midcard workrate feud that elevates both.
-
Oh, okay. I recall it being Wahoo getting 10 while having to drop 6. So the person would have to merge rosters and make 14 or 13 available? I very honestly can't see pulling 24 members of the WWF roster and having use for half of them. If anything I'd take maybe several jobber/lower midcard types to shore that up some, but beyond that the majority of the roster would be released. I didn't realize it had been quite as generous as that. Doesn't change my thinking on how I'd go about things all that much. I'd do 9 at most and toss the rest into a draft.
-
Okay, I did some calculating this morning because it seemed like the thing to do. The WWF has 37 wrestlers. GCW has 27. There are 15 total promotions not including these two (with myself and Boon included in this number). So: If Rain's friend picks WWF, 14 promotions will be picking from 27. This is tricky, but I think we at least need to allow Boon 5 guys out of the 10 total he can pick that are free and clear without having to drop anyone. This leaves 22 with very likely some decent guys for the first round and jobbers in the second for the first 8. I would be open to Boon having six or seven free picks because do any of us need that many jobbers? If Rain's friend picks Georgia, 14 promotions split from 37. I would hold myself to the five I suggested for Boon and say that perhaps 6 or 7 would be in order. Thing with the WWF roster is that after the top, things get pretty jobbery pretty fast. Having a crack at 32 guys, giving everyone twice through, is all well and good. But the reality of what you'd be getting is somewhat less happy. That being said, I got Goldie Rogers off of a merger draft. I looked at the names left when it got close to me, did some youtubing and googling and saw something I could use. One man's garbage can be another man's trash. 80% of the time it probably isn't going to be but I imagine there are some diamonds in the rough at least from a midcard standpoint to both rosters. Oh and option number three also. If Rain's friend decides to be not interested at all. 64 total workers available, perhaps a few more if we add VKM and various famous WWF personnel that may interest folks. Again I would go with a baseline of five that Boon and I got to cherry pick before we gave anyone up. This leaves 54 for 13 promotions. With all of the caveats above, this is less attractive than it might be (4 picks gauranteed), but still has merit as far as increasing roster size. This is all, of course, my take on things and open to criticism and change.

Imagine that. A community full of wrestling nerd types can pick out the direction that booking is going.
-
Depends on the kind of support it has. If the majority is for it I'm fine with it. This is a pet project of mine for the foreseeable future.

Taylor & Guerrero one step closer to a breakup & feud situation. Great Russians stuff and a big double main that delivers big! Flair vs. Race is gonna be huge with this build.

Sep 26th, Paul Sauvé Arena, Montreal, QC (4,000, sellout) The Kay Brothers defeated Etienne Bergeron & Frederic Tremblay with a Bobby Kay O’Connor roll on Tremblay Goldie Rogers defeated Alex Gerrard with a neckbreaker Tony Parisi defeated Dave Kochen with a flying senton Quebec Heavyweight Champion Richard Charland & Dan Johnson defeated Louis Laurence & Tony Ricco with a spike piledriver after Charland snuck in a low blow on Laurence Gino Brito defeated Hurricane Kamiguchi with a figure four The Can Am Express & Rene Goulet defeated the Tongan Terrors & Stonehead Ishimoto with a Lafon schoolboy on Tonga John before all three faces escaped the ring Gilles Poisson defeated Invader 1 with a bearhug after hitting a low blow when referee Pierre Bertrand chased off both Mad Dog Lefebvre and Invader 3, who had come out to ringside. Yeah, it leaves Brody as a monster still, kind of like the Cena LMS match vs. Umaga. Is it ideal in terms of how you would want wrestling to be booked? Probably not, but it keeps things looking right. Still not sure if Brody would have agreed to it.
-
On that same note, we need to elect a new VP since KrisZ left. Unless we want to cut it down to one.
-
Interesting finish to the main. Saito as the new lackey should prove to be a lot of fun. The Fabs finally giving the Dynasty the whuppin' they deserve should be more fun. That Pardee character continues to be a thorn in Lord Parv's side. Not sure Mr. mexico and Jose are ever going to get theirs, they seems to know when to run away.
-
Wow, long TV match there. One thing I am impressed with is how you push the boundaries for 1983. I don't much care for 30+ minute matches, but there is certainly a place for them especially if the workers can make them special.
-
Yeah, I think it's kind of a narrow view to look at it only as "guys I can use." If you have free reign to pick up guys that other people are going to want and get what you want, that seems like a viable option as well.
-
Yeah, I take the blame for the miscommunication there. Trying to get everything out in a hurry left it way short of a full explanation.
