    Remade Poll

Went with your 40-45. If enough people vote for it, that's what we go with.
  2. So there has been a question raised and I don't want it to distract from CWF's thread. Solie now appears to be working for rival factions due to Boon's expansion. Several questions come up. Is Southeastern going to continue running in Georgia or is it going to go dark for a time? Where should Solie go? These are not questions I am prepared or equipped to answer, nor do I have a horse in the race. I just don't want to see the promotion thread derailed.

Okay, the option is there. Any other suggestions on how to structure the poll? Add more definition on the inactivity question with more options? FYI you'll have to delete your vote and revote to answer the third question.

I'm all for a 32 or 34 cap on roster size with two managers. This seems beneficial to the project as a whole. Will try to add that to the original poll. I think the idea of a redraft is going to fall flat with anyone who went through the original draft. Or has a roster they like for their area.

Not big on the redraft idea. That draft took forever and a day. And truth be told, most of my undercard guys don't hold value for anybody besides me, so it's not like I couldn't protect a shit ton of big names.

Like I said, I think it would be best to have those rosters there. But if you could propose a trade with that roster that enough people agreed with I think it ought to be fine.
  7. It's because Boon took over Georgia and Solie was there.

    Randy Savage

I've been watching a bunch of Memphis lately and I LOVE Savage there as a babyface or heel. One thing I missed when I was younger watching selected WWE Savage is the singular energy he brings to the table. Nobody else quite has the same feel as Randy Savage does. It's one of the things I love about Hansen as well. To bring things back to Savage, I probably noticed it before because I always liked watching him regardless of what he was doing. I just couldn't put it into words in a coherent fashion. He also seems to have a great sense of when to bring the insane, high-energy stuff into a match and when to be more low key.
  9. That seems like a good idea, and I proposed a system that would work hand in hand with that in the poll thread.

    Remade Poll

I know, I ended up doing that as more of an insurance policy that when I do want to rotate guys out I know for sure I can. Running tag teams it's not quite as easy to bring in the two guys you want for a run as it is getting a singles guy. So I have a few teams out working here and there that can come in and spell somebody when the need arises. They won't all be working in Quebec at any one time. But I also understand that we need to have names available for newer writers to come in and will do what I can to balance out those concerns. Whatever happens I can promise you that I will be fair about things. On the issue of who is the "top 5" I think both you and I, Stan, have discovered that name value isn't always the thing. Fit for a person's style, regional concerns, preference/dislike for certain workers all come into decisions. So putting together a top 5 from any one promotion is going to be really tough to do. I would like to propose the idea that an entire roster would go into this pool and people could request a trade with the free agent pool in the case that they really want this worker or that to come in. That trade would have to be ratified by a certain number of people to go through and it would be up to the majority of us to make sure that value was being traded for value. I understand that we all have different ideas of value, but that seems like it would balance things out if we required, say, 7 people to ratify the trade. Between all of those 7 we would certainly have enough of a consensus that somebody was being put back in who would carry the same kind of weight as the person taken out.
  11. So the idea is that no territories get truly absorbed, just have names thrown into a big list of guys people can pick from coming in? Also, JHawk and myself have merged territories as far as rosters go. I believe the WWA also has CSW territory.
  12. Really great job with Florida so far! Sullivan's army is going to keep growing it seems. Almost looks like Fernandez is on his way out. Can't wait to see the next brackets of the tournament. Also want to know who's life Abby is set to be making miserable.
  13. I've been thinking about doing this for a few days, and now seems like the time to do it. I rescind the Steamboat trade to Southeastern and Boon can keep the Nightmares, if this is something Boon wants. Steamboat, Fernandez, Ole and Robinson can go into whatever pool we decide we make for new writers, if that is the way we go. Mulligan will be traded to JCP for Brad Rheingans. I still intend to find a way to make a deal for Jake the Snake, it can involve two, three or four other promotions if need be, but that is something I want to do. The idea I have for him is just too much fun. If one of the four wrestlers above who would be going into the pool can free up somebody Boon will take for Jake, consider it a done deal.

    Remade Poll

Discussion about what constitutes inactivity is something that we should deal with in the thread. I tend to agree that leaving something for new writers is necessary. I just don't want to take the option away from people to absorb another territory when I have already done that. As for taking the top 5 workers off a territory and putting them somewhere, this is an interesting idea. But who are the top 5 workers? It could be argued that Leo Burke and Backlund would be on that list for IWF. Something like that is subjective both to personal tastes and geography. I'd like to see roster flexibility for people coming in, but I also think there are those who feel like fresh talent out of drop-outs is a shot in the arm. There needs to be some way of balancing this out.
  15. There's been a lot of argument over this and I understand that it's a hard thing to deal with. This whole thing has changed by a whole lot over the last month and it's not going to be easy to deal with regardless of how you look at it. There are a lot of things that need to be decided, both in terms of participation and how everything is distributed once the dust clears. So I made polls for us to do it democratically. My feeling on the first is that people who have gotten mergers should abstain from voting as it seems like we have gotten the treasure trove and it ought to be up to those who have not if they get the same. After these things are settled, I think it would be good to talk about how all of the territory from IWF and Stampede will be parceled out. I will be the first to say I want none of it. Quebec, the Maritimes and Ottawa are enough for me forever and that's the way it stays. I think this is the most civil and the best way of deciding some tough questions that there are strong feelings on. Majority rules and we go with that regardless. There has to be a clear direction and I think this is the only way. As suggested in the other topic we need to also define inactivity.
  16. I'm fine with giving Vancouver and PR the label of "dummy promotion" in one sense, but it's a difficult thing once it comes down to execution. If we get a new writer who wants to come in, which one goes? Do Boricua and Wahoo have any say? What process is used to determine these answers? How do we make it fair? I want to see Boricua's vision for PR, even if it takes a while to get there, because I think he is singularly qualified to define that territory. But I also want to see this thing work without deteriorating further. The frustrating nature of things as they are has already factored into several people leaving and I don't want to see it continue.
  17. I don't want anyone out. My roster is enough to support me for a long, long time and I have no need of more. What I want is active promotions to read and deal with. The feeling of an actual system of territories operating on roughly the same schedule.
  18. Another excellent episode from one of my favorite tag teams. Always love listening to you guys, keep it up!
  19. To me that's just a part of the argument. There's also the issue of so many drafts and drop-outs being a huge distraction. Hard to have plans and execute them when you know they will change again in two weeks when two more people drop out. By the time you have re-calibrated, you have to do it all over again.
  20. Kris quit because part of his show was meant to be a showcase for the rest of the NWA. It's hard to showcase something that's barely there. That's just one reason, but I think it illustrates that this is in the end a cooperative venture and we need to all at least be present.
  21. Why did Kris quit? How are these "around the country" shows going to run on two or three promotions? How many drafts do we need in the space of a month or two? I think it's time to address that.
  22. I want to be sure that everyone who hasn't gotten a merger is okay with that. Secondly, if that is the way of it, I'm looking at All Star and WWC and asking what the status of their catch-up is. This constant need of a draft or absorption lately needs to end. I think a lot of the recent inactivity is people waiting to see how everything shakes out and it's taking a long time to do that. So please don't take this as any kind of insult to anyone running a promotion that's behind, but a request for some kind of concrete notion of where everyone's promotions are and what they want to do. If you don't see yourself making this work, let us know now.
  23. I don't have one lined up nor do I want one. In that case then, I propose that the AWA gets a shot at one roster (if what you say is correct and peach is done) and whatever is left after either goes into a draft or we start up a new western Canadian promotion.
  24. There is always the chance somebody could jump in. If all of Canada besides me is gone that's a bit much to go into any one promotion. My suggestion would be this: 1. We put it up for people to move or join. 2. Wahoo, if he wants and is still planning on posting shows, takes a crack at the IWF roster. 3. If Wahoo isn't planning on sticking around, the AWA takes over one promotion out of the three and the others go into a draft with whatever is left from the one he picks. He can run the western part of Canada freely unless we want to use those other two rosters as a new Canadian promotion west of Quebec. Still, I would urge Grimmas to change his mind because I think he has a lot of great ideas and should be a part of this.
  25. Sad to see Jack Tunney go. He's been a good neighbor and co-promoter. I hope his shoes get filed well.
